You’re stuck with Beomgyu hours after that— even though your mother was able to calm you down, it seemed as though you were afraid of the boy for the rest of your time there; hiding behind any object that was able to cover your frame, hugging your bear tightly and using it as a shield to peek at him— averting your eyes frantically when he’d glance at you and meet your weary gaze. 

Despite your mother’s attempts to get the two of you— or rather, mostly you— comfortable around each other, you both seemed dead set on not wanting to interact with the other, resigned to stay in separate sides of the room and turning your back to him when your mother had to leave to fetch a toy Beomgyu insisted he left on the couch of one of the main rooms, not bothering to specify which one; you attempted to follow her, but she prevented you from doing so, a reassuring smile stuck on her face as she asked you to wait on the beanbag. 

If Beomgyu didn’t know any better, he could’ve confused you for a mannequin; frozen still, small hands gripping onto your stuffie and wide eyes keeping watch at the door— the sight was both parts intriguing and irritating, and the boy reluctantly found himself watching you, observing you carefully— even then, it seemed as though you didn’t even blink. 

“You’re such a scaredy-cat.” Beomgyu says loudly, point proven further from the way you flinch and snap your gaze over to where he sits on the bed; arms crossed petulantly, eyes narrowed and watching you intently, “Are you scared your mom left you here?”

The very thought is enough to have your eyes widening; only a year difference in age, Beomgyu ponders to himself, yet you seem extremely attached to your mother, and are quite gullible too— he frowns at the way your mind visibly seems to wander, thinking of scenarios that only cause you to panic— and though Beomgyu knows he should feel bad, he can only find himself wondering just how far he can take this. 

“You might just be stuck here forever,” he muses, pushing himself off the bed and walking over to you, standing before you and watching the way you try to deny his claims, albeit a bit hesitantly, “I think she got tired of you.”

You refuse to believe him— but it’s been a while, and your mother still hasn’t come back. The way he looks down at you makes you feel so small, his expression so sure and serious that you’re beginning to wonder the truth of his words; beginning to wonder if your mother really left you. 

“She abandoned you.” Beomgyu finishes, watching with cold eyes as your mind slowly succumbs to the possibility.

And after a moment, it happens. There it is again, he thinks to himself, watching your eyes well up and your expression screw into one of sorrow so effortlessly— he drinks it all in with fascination, never having seen someone who can spill tears and get so heartbroken on a whim; your fingers dig into your plush and your body shakes with hiccups, continuing to defend your mother weakly and saying that she will come back. 

“No she won’t,” Beomgyu says apathetically, watching the way your face twists into a frown and you attempt to fight back— but you’re believing him, and his interest is piqued, whispers telling him to see if he can get you to give up your fighting entirely, “you’re such a crybaby. She doesn’t like that. My mom says that kids like you are annoying. That no one wants a whiny kid.”

Through your messy sniffles and shed tears, you stop to think— could this be true? Beomgyu’s expression is blank even as your eyes finally meet his, solemn and unshaken, as though what he said is nothing but a universal truth— and the more you look at him, the more he looks at you, the more you believe it. 

Beomgyu can almost see something shatter within you; his lips upturn in a small smile. 

“I like you,” he suddenly says, bold and innocent as he reaches out to offer his hand; you blink, dazed, unsure of what to make of his words as you remain silent— blindly, you take his hand. “You’re weird. Let's go find your mom– she’s downstairs.”

He pulls you up before you can protest; he’s just a few inches taller than you, and you find yourself looking up as you trail after him, hugging your plush tightly with one arm— through shaky sniffles and stutters, you’re finally able to ask him a question. 

“You mean she didn’t leave me?”

Beomgyu scoffs. 

“No. I was lying. Couldn’t you tell?”

You shake your head petulantly, your stare burning into the boy’s side profile; the light that bleeds in from the floor-to-ceiling windows that line the hall almost casts a glow onto him, like a halo of sorts. You feel an odd sense of comfort.  

“No.”

For the second time today, Beomgyu’s lips quirk up into a miniscule smile. He nods. 

“Cool.”

— @junniieesbby : ANGIE! in this case, angie's fashion sense screams yeonjun to me. she's so hot (respectfully) and gives that stronger / intense(?) side of yeonjun, but not in an intimidating way. the petnames and words of affection screams yeonjun to me, idk if it's bc he's her bias but regardless, I think she does exude similar energy to him overall.

SOOBIN:

— @taegimood : this is from recent interactions, but I view mj as soobin bc I feel like they're living their best life. like they can do whatever and still be on top of things (this is also based off of impression and assumptions). I feel like mj has that maturity to them when talking to their moots and I think it's intriguing :>

— @lovejoshua : ilem is such a sweetheart, and so is soobin. like she is so loveable and gets along with everyone ik! she can be calm and collected but also chaotic when the time calls for it hehe a thing about ilem is that she's just so lovely to talk to, I could talk to her about anything! she too seems to be doing her own thing too, and I love that for her !

— @flwrseon : saph is gentle, like a flower. and from talking to saph every now and again, I feel like she can be quite shy at first but she really is lovely to talk to. esp when you talk to her about her interests?! then you'll pique her interest and I love seeing her talk about things she's into, even if I may not know much about it ^^ I think that's such a soobin characteristic!

BEOMGYU:

— @seolis-world : seoli emits chaotic energy in the best way imo. whenever I see seoli on my dash or in my notifs I sense the chaos and the energy she brings is always so bright and fun! I also feel like we don't necessarily talk a lot but it's always fun when we do! and that's something I feel is what's similar to beomgyu and me

— @naomiarai : despite our first interaction being chaotic, I do feel like she can also be fun to talk to. not just that but her works are unhinged in the best way possible, it makes me go feral sometimes 😵‍💫 and that's where the chaotic energy like beomgyu's comes from lmao

— @agustdiv1ne : I've said this time and time again, but ashlee is so articulate with her words, in her works or talking in general and I associate her with taehyun for that. I also sense that realism and maturity with ashlee which I admire :>

time wave - txt yeonjun 8-chaptered series

the first series i made and that i still cherish about. i had the idea since 2019-ish when i almost wrote this for skz's han before i decide to revamp my whole blog and write for txt and enhypen. that time, i already knew i have to write this series. you'll probably like the world-building that has been done here as i expand the inspiration that started this with my own flavor. the world-building is so vast that i'm planning to make a one-shot spin off in that universe in this year.

crossroads - enhypen jay one shot

still is my proudest fic and the tamest one among the others. what i really love about this fic is how movie-like it is, that it could help you as a beginner to my blog/writing style to visualize the story much better than the others. the theme here is high school romance and i happened to get many influences to write this from japanese media like studio ghibli's ocean waves (1993), blue (2002), and netflix's first love (2022)

a story of two broken hearts - enhypen jake one-shot

this is the very first work i've ever posted after my revamp! though i can tell the difference between my writing style then and now, it is still one that i'm really proud of (especially since i wrote for my bias lmao). you can even find my signature callback writing style in this very thing too

an underrated release of mine. i also love the world-building of this series so much because i have to make a plot line that goes through eight different stories for each member. i know this one will take the longest time to update and finish but i just like their world so much. i also made a side blog for my this series, time wave, and other future series where you could interact with the character and make the world-building grow outside of the main chapter/episode. it's @interactivemochi !

ashen - txt beomgyu one shot

the ashen rennaisance by @itz-yerin really help me change how i view this fic. i always thought that this fic was too ambitious and it confuses people instead of entertaining them. especially with the halloween time frame that this was made. do see yerin's testimony for this to know just how complex this fic is

troubled pixies - txt taehyun two shot

the longest one-shot i've ever written so far! but tumblr hates too many wc so i have to make it a two-shot instead. what i like about this fic is the character study between the main characters here. this was the first time i have to write a more concrete stereotype because i have to deal with 5 sisters with different personalities. i even see myself in taehyun's eyes as he deducts the characters of the sisters, showing his own character as well. the subjects brought here are heavy though, so keep that in mind.

okay i wanted to ask, because i see you writing such long fics but i can barely pull myself together to write this bomb-ass 20k word fic, how do approach a fic you know is going to be a long one in a way that you don't feel intimidated by it, or do you still get intimidated by it and just try and push through it?

okay so first off, thank you so much for sending me this ask 😭 you literally forced me to go through my writing process and caused me to make a huge breakthrough with one of my stories alfkgh

anyways, i'll try to be as thorough and clear as i can be with my process, i hope this helps! (but also im so sorry once i started i couldn't stop)

i think my process can be best described with three fics; Only You, Darling (40k), Killer Instinct (37K), and Memories We Made (unfinished but estimated to be over 30k.). With each story, I knew that they were going to be long, but mostly because I went in with the approach that it has to be long in order for the story to be executed right; characters have to be written thoroughly, and there are certain scenes that need to be written for the plot/character to progress-- like, if it's not written in, the story could lose those small details that make the fic feel more... alive, if that makes sense?

The most important part is making an outline! I know that's probably obvious, but outlines can seriously vary; like with OYD and MWM, I have a whole doc dedicated to the fic. I'm gonna show you what a bit of my OYD planning looks like, please don't point out how genuinely unhinged it is 😭😭😭 (so.. spoilers for OYD + fun fact it was gonna be Sunghoon instead of Jaemin in the story originally hehe)

This is an example of what my outlines can look like; but, it only gets like this as i write-- the first pic is my outline filled with things i added as i wrote OYD such as characteristics/important notes/things i wanna edit, and the second pic is what i started out with.

the first thing i do is brainstorm the bare basics of the plot; what kind of story is it, and what do i want to happen in it? you can see that i separated the story into the key plot points/arcs; and within each one, i also put how i wanted them to begin and end. (the numbers are the wc for each arc alskhg)

the hard part comes in when you're filling these arcs/key points in. because now the big question is, how do you get there? for example, during the first act of OYD, i wanted to establish beomjun's relationship with the mc, and end it off by having the two work together. but in order to do that, i decided to include scenes that showed yeonjun's relationship with the mc, and then beomgyu's relationship with her. now that i had the foundation, i allowed the two to interact; that let me establish beomjun's relationship with each other, and let them realize they had a common goal.

last, you add a catalyst (a character, a situation, etc.) that can get you to your end goal; the catalyst being jaemin, which brought the two to work together out of jealousy-- and that's how i was able to fill in that key point.

then i just repeated that process for all arcs! add scenes that elaborate on key points, then add a catalyst that can take you to the end!

another thing i do when plotting for my stories is record myself brainstorming! i let myself ramble and talk about the plot out loud, and that's usually how i run into plot holes/issues. i kinda let myself figure it out in real time, and once i've figured the plot out, i listen back to it and write it down. (i have voice recordings for OYD and MWM. MWM is 48 mins, if that gives you a gist of what i mean by like... brainstorming. and half of it is straight up fucking nonsense. just let out ideas, details about the characters, scenes you'd like to write, anything. it lets you become more familiar and comfortable with your story, if that even makes sense.)

also! whenever i'm writing but get tired and decide to take a break, i add a quick want to add note at the bottom; that's what the weird little spiel up there in the second pic is. it's where i wrote down the ending scene because i had a super specific idea of what i wanted and how i wanted it to happen. if you get any scene ideas like that for your fic, write them down!! there's a chance that you might forget about it/write it differently if you don't; plus, it could even help you add things in that could make the transition into the scene super smooth.

OYD was honestly a bit intimidating for me when i wrote it, because i knew that it had to be extremely detailed and long. that's why i made sure to properly plan things out, that way so i didn't forget anything that could skew the execution. but one of the biggest tips is that you should brainstorm scenes you want to add in each key point, that way you don't feel as intimidated when writing-- because now you have a guide, yk? I'd love to show how my MWM outline looks like, but the fic isn't even out yet 😭 but it's literally a scene-by-scene outline of how i want the story to go! now all i have to do is flesh out the said scenes :)

then there's fics like killer instinct. i went into that with pure vibes, no outline, no planning; more of a mental outline, if anything. so if you find the idea of the whole written outline + scene & key points boring/not for you, i'd still suggest to get the bare basics down; but what i did with killer instinct was that i brainstormed as i went, and added small notes to keep track of important things so i wouldn't screw with continuity-- age and time is pretty important in that story, and i kid you not this is the only thing i had for killer instinct outline wise (bc im not counting my doc of mma notes.)

but for killer instinct, i kinda winged it; i knew what the general plot was, but allowed myself to have fun on how to get there. the only thing i will say though, is that with every scene, you should try to plan out the next one-- like, intro to killer instinct is introducing taegyu, then i'll introduce the mc. then i'll introduce the world and background. and now that i have a foundation, i'll add extra scenes, then a catalyst! this leads into the main conflict, then y'know the rest. but instead of planning it out bit by bit, i kinda let myself go with the flow...? it also let me be a lot less intimidated by the fact that I knew the story would have to be long.

as for the story i had a big breakthrough with, i'm definitely a bit intimidated by it! i know it has to be intricate and emotional and intense, so in order to help with that, i've made playlists to get me in the correct mood, watch shows, read other fics, anything to help me get comfortable with the genre and spark inspiration. I'm currently winging it as well.... but have three key points im sticking to-- it's gonna sound a bit confusing and vague but it's like... add foundation + the male lead is introduced -> background is given to let ppl know motivations and stuff -> final scene. and whenever i run into an issue, i brainstorm and try to get to the root of why im stuck. like, is it plot, the character, or the scene? in this case it was all three so. pray for me.

anyways. i hope this helped and im so sorry if it didn't 😭😭😭 because then that just means u read this painfully messy explanation for nothing. but when writing long fics, pleeeaseee make sure to take your time with it-- if nothing's working, give it time and don't force yourself to write whatever! (mwm has been in my wip for a solid like. year..? but this is a rare case plus im insane)

and if your word count ends up surpassing/being under than what you originally expected, don't panic! (killer instinct was estimated at 20-25k. so.) sometimes certain scenes just aren't necessary, and other times, you find that you may need to elaborate more in order to make things work.
