Police in a Pod TV Anime’s Newest Trailer Previews OP Theme, Reveals January 2022 Broadcast

  It’s nearly time for the cops from Machiyama Police Station to start their patrol as it was announced today that the TV anime adaptation of Miko Yasu's slice-of-life manga series Police in a Pod will be starting in January 2022. The broadcast month was revealed in the newest trailer for the MADHOUSE-produced series that also previewed the opening theme song, as well as revealing more cast members and staff.

    The opening theme featured in the trailer is “Shirankya (I Have to Know),” which is performed by Riko Azuna. It was also announced that the ending theme will be “Change” performed by nonoc.

  Joining the cast of Police in a Pod are (from left to right):

    Ryota Suzuki (Yukimaru in Fena: Pirate Princess) as Seiji Minamoto

Shimba Tsuchiya (Kai Nakamura in The aquatope on white sand) as Takeshi Yamada

Kana Hanazawa (Ichika Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets) as Miwa Makitaka

  Directing the series will be Yuzo Sato (Hunter × Hunter: Phantom Rouge anime film), with Ryunosuke Kingetsu (Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero) creating the series composition and Kei Tsuchiya (Laidbackers) as the character designer. The animation will be produced at MADHOUSE. The rest of the staff include:

  In Japan, the Police in a Pod manga has released 17 volumes and inspired a live-action TV series that finished in September on Japanese TV. Kodansha releases the series in English, with the third volume currently scheduled to be released on August 10. They describe the first volume as such:

  Female police officer Kawai had enough of a career she wasn't even that into and was about to hand in her registration, when the unthinkable happened—she met the new, female director of her station! And after spending a little time with this gorgeous role model, Kawai realizes that maybe she isn't quite done being an officer after all.

Lets talk about its gameplay

Passive :

Koryu has a passive that when he jumps, flames project him so that he jumps higher

The Primary Weapon : Karambit (Tiger Claw)

-Koryu uses a Karambit to strike his enemies in melee range

The Second Weapon : Kusarigama

-For enemies who stay at a distance he can catch them with his Kusarigama and bring them back to him but if he catches a tank, he will be brought halfway.

The Primary Ability : Flaming Wind

-With each movement except during the jump Koryu can make bursts of fire which allow him to move faster and any enemy near him will be burned. Doing it 3 times in a row makes Koryu burn.

The Second Ability : Rebirth

-He places a fireball on the ground and when he is eliminated he can choose to reappear in the place where he placed his fireball and he can cause damage burn but if he is killed again he will no longer do burning damage until he uses the ability again.

The Third Ability : Hi no kabe

-He projects the fireball onto the ground who forms a wall of flame that causes significant burn damage to those who try to pass through the flames.

The Ultimate : Komainu

During his ultimate Koryu takes charge of Komainu's energy, the damage taken during the charge is reduced then he releases all his power in an explosion of fire. Survivors will be severely burned. During the explosion a lion's roar can be heard.
