Because I’m tired over parenting debates where the only true answer is Straff, who’s the worst sibling?
Motivations under the cut:
Reen - Was physically and psychologically abusive towards his sister.
Zane - Tried to have his brother assasinated and tried to make his sister in law fall in love with him because he was jealous and when she didn't reciprocrate tried to kill her as well. Also got multiple of his other siblings killed during the previously mentioned assassination attempt.
Gavilar - Used his brother as a weapon and then used his following ptsd and addiction as a way to manipulate him. He also persued the girl he knew his brother wanted to court.
Dalinar - Was about to kill his brother once, got drunk and didn’t listen during his meetings and eventually fucked his widow (which is good for her but I imagine Gavilar would take issue).
Telsin - Faked her death, killed her brother, then tried to nuke his home city.
Eventeo - Took the throne from his brother and banished him.
Kiin - Tried to take the throne back from his brother by force.
Balat - Let his sister deal with their family problems and feel responsible for him and their brothers despite being the youngest.
Helaran - Left his siblings alone with their abusive father.
Kelsier - Died? And fought over a girl.
Venli - Set off events that led to her sisters death, kinda. Idk it's not her I just wanted more women on the list.
Prime Elhokar - Had one of his sisters closest allies murdered in front of her. Basically locked her up so she couldn't tell anyone and then married her off to Sadeas/Amaram against her wishes.

actually really liked the way jasnah and wit’s relationship sucks and is falling apart tbh, however when you think about how hoid has been alive for a billion slutty slutty years and yet doesn’t know what asexuality is. i have to laugh.

So this bit from the Stormlight 5 prologue fucking kills me:
Hand quivering, he reached toward his pocket and pulled out sphere. The weapon. They needed to have this. His son… No, his son could not handle this… They needed a warrior. A true warrior. One that Gavilar had been doing his best to suppress for years. Out of a fear he barely dared acknowledge, even as he drew his last, ragged breaths.
Dalinar. Storms help them, it came down to Dalinar.
Gavilar was so wrong, the world didn't need the Blackthorn, they needed a diplomat and a strategist. Dalinar's reputation as a butcher kept so many nations from joining the Coalition. In Gavilar's dying moments he grabbed for the thing that had solved every other problem in his life-- he called his brother to action. And then he was gone, and for the first time in Dalinar's life he had to decide for himself what he was being asked to do. And for the first time in Dalinar's life, he didn't see it as a call for violence. He thought his brother was asking him to step up and be better. Like do you get it. Guys do you get it

Just after the last of the Stormlight minis ship out to the backers, Sanderson will discover that the KOWT draft simply doesn't work and a drastic rewrite is necessary. The biggest casualty of this rewrite will be Zellion who will wind up completely cut from the Cosmere except for the mysterious minis. Forever after, the only explanations for who the character is will come from tumblr lore.

Ok Shallan hearing Navani and Dalinar tell her they want her to take the Kholin name because they need her in the line of succession and Shallan thinking that it's the first time that there are parents that want her is tragic and adorable
But it seems Sanderson must have changed his mind regarding that since previously he's specified that she did not change her name

From the preview chapter Brandon read recently:
She rose and, though the air was warm—her mother’s transformations to Urithiru heating the air to unnatural levels for this elevation—she felt cold in only her nightgown. She threw on a robe and leaned over Wit’s shoulder. She couldn’t read what he wrote. The symbols were unfamiliar, one of the many languages he could speak from worlds beyond theirs. It looked like a table, though, not paragraphs. And those notations to the left of each line? The dots and lines? Numbers, perhaps? They repeated far more often than the other symbols did.
Wit is having a magical panic attack and shit's glowing and there's sand and metal flying everywhere and Jasnah's like well I can't get through to him right now, may as well look over his shoulder and try to read his weird alien notes. You will never convince me to dislike Jaswit, literally where else are you gonna get this?

KOWT PREVIEW CHAPTER
Call me a silly sod for wanting to talk about relationship therapy stuff but this Jaswit chapter is a great example of Gottman's solvable vs perpetual problems, and why either of those kinds of problems can be relationship breakers.
For some reason, the dealbreaker isn't the one people seem to think.
So in this preview chapter, Jasnah and Wit have two relationship problems: 1) they have mismatched sex drives, and 2) Wit has been lying to her by omission.
This is the problem that some think is the dealbreaker. Having mismatched sex drives is a perpetual problem - it will always exist as long as they're together. Jasnah herself is troubled by Wit being weird about it, but it's not a dealbreaker for her. In fact, every relationship has perpetual problems, and mismatched sex drives is a common one, even in allo/allo or ace/ace relationships! And they got the benefit of knowing that right from the beginning. To me, that shows that they both believe that they can adapt, or at least there are other things about the relationship that make it worth the ongoing mismatch. Again I cannot stress enough that every long-term relationship, friendship, family relationship, etc has perpetual problems that they have to work around.
Wit's dishonesty is the problem that causes Jasnah to feel like something has broken in her. She knew Wit would keep secrets, but she asked him to specifically share information he had about Odium, and he agreed and then withheld that information from her. This is a solvable problem! He could solve the problem by giving her the information she wants and being honest with her going forward. Or trying to negotiate a different level of secrecy. However, he will likely choose to keep lying because he's a bastard man. That's the dealbreaker for her, and quite rightly in my opinion!
In conclusion, Wit busting his nut isn't the dealbreaker, it's the fact that he's not busting his balls to say his next Ideal. And he's going to have to get honest fast if he's going to stay in this relationship. Jasnah deserves better!
