When you finally see the ZDF film shot in your hometown

We are not strangers to a ZDF film crew in Cornwall given the setting of the Rosamunde Pilcher series but we rarely find them available to stream in the UK.

Recently I was able to watch the one partially filmed in my home town, the small village of St Agnes, and I was not expecting this.

In “Von Tee und Liebe”, Rolf Kanies played the father of the protagonist, owning a tea plantation (which we can grow here due to the mild climate) and also runs an estate agency filmed in St Agnes.

The map behind him in the estate agents is of St Agnes parish and has on it my first family home.

The village is known for being a key part of Cornwall’s mining heritage, was used to smuggle in goods from boats and has its own microclimate where the weather can be significantly warmer than even a couple of miles away.

I haven’t lived there for some time due to the costs of houses there and I know I am biased but it is an incredibly beautiful location.

I only found this out when I attended a family wedding in the village a few weeks ago and it turns out some of the people I know were able to meet Rolf and the cast.

Rolf apparently spent several weeks in Cornwall during the filming in 2019 and he absolutely loved it. Look how happy he was!!

I hope he knows he can come back anytime.

Aber diese dünne Frau mit ihrem breiten Koffer, so mittelalt plus sie auch sein mochte, war lebendig. Nicht strotzend lebendig, eher rieselnd lebendig, wie trockener Sand, der in einzelnen Körnchen von einem abfällt und für andere, für Beobachtende, eine Spur hinterlässt. Sie war eine Ausnahme in der Menge, denn sie regte sich nicht auf über das Ausfallen der Züge, das Nichteinrichten eines Schienenersatzes. Sie stand da und telefonierte und erklärte, es würde später werden. Der andere, den ich nicht, sondern nur sie hörte, fragte nach Ergebnissen. Ob man schon etwas weiß. Und die mittelalte lebendige Frau sagte: Ja. Es ist kein Krebs. Und dabei betonte die Erleichterung jedes Wort deutlich, während die Zuversicht den zweiten Satz ganz ins Leise schrumpfte: Sondern nur eine Vorstufe.

Sometime ago I made Krebs and Burgdorf in Sims 4 and I finally took some pictures of them! They don't look that accurate unfortunately because I haven't found/made enough fitting custom content (especially hair and clothes) for them yet😭 But I think they're still a really adorable couple🥺💕

They also live in a small house near the sea so Krebs always can be close to his beloved fish🫶

I’ve just had a weeks holiday in Finland where it was lovely and snowy and I spent my time there writing about my favourite doomed generals.

I apologise that my other fic is really depressing and probably more so now if you read this one first. I can’t seem to be able to write fluff - I blame the emo era I grew up in, we ate up this kind of stuff for breakfast.

Another cringy title - I hate giving them names - It was very nearly called Brokeback Krebsdorf 🙈

The author unfortunately doesn't seem to be active in the fandom anymore, but I just think this lovely fanfic still deserves attention! Krebsy is looking just absolutely adorable in these two pictures🥺 No wonder that Burgdorf fell in love with that cute smile <3

I love how they're just always standing so close to each other no matter what. These two are literally inseparable❤️

They look so calm and at ease sleeping next to each other🫶 I like to think that Krebs instinctively leaned over like this in his sleep because he's seeking closeness to Burgdorf🥺

That goddamn stare😩❤️ They're looking at each other with so much longing and desire, their gazes screaming "I want you so much right now". In the parody universe, I like to imagine that after closing the door, instead of killing themselves they went on to a certain other activity😏

Maybe this scene was cut because the filmmakers knew it would be too powerful😂 Their entire interaction is just so tender and it's obvious how much they care for (read: love) each other. The way Burgdorf immediately turns around and reassuringly touches Krebs' hand, and caresses his fingers with his own so gently? The fact that he calls him Hans?? How Krebs pulls back his hand ever so reluctantly, not wanting to let go??? Ahhhg I can't with them😭❤️

I couldn't find this scene in better quality, but I think it's cute how Krebs just looks so in love with Burgy🥺 He's watching his boyfriend's drunk singing and joking and is probably just thinking something like "yeah, that one's mine, and I wouldn't exchange him for anyone else in the world" <3

I'm already losing my mind about how the way they're always looking at each other, like, there is so much romantic and sexual tension between them from that alone?! Meanwhile Weidling is not amused about being judged by the bunker boyfriends.

It's so cute how Burgdorf seems to seek more physical contact particularly when he's drunk, and it doesn't look like Krebs minds either😊 I like to headcanon that Burgdorf is more bold about being physically affectionate in public, while Krebs tends to be a bit more shy about it, at least at the beginning of their relationship😅

Burgdorf looks like he just really wants to lean in and kiss Krebs on the neck if it weren't for that damn jacket collar (feat. a judgemental Skeletor in the background). He's so in love with him I can't😭

I started writing a little Krebsdorf fanfic and realised how much I missed writing aughh😭 It's always been a hobby of mine, but I've also been pretty inconsistent with it and sometimes months would pass without any inspiration. It's so fun though!!

I'll probably post it on ao3 once it's finished and my account invitation has gone through (I signed up for a new one since I am too chicken to post it on my regular fandom account - also I haven't used that one in years💀), not sure if I should also post the full text on here or simply link it (I've seen writers doing both). There is a great total of 8 fics in the Krebs/Burgdorf tag over there so it's surely time to change that😭
