Thank you for the prompts annie!!! 2. Oh jeez to pick from three??? To pick from three??? I guess if I had to pick (and this isnt from most to least fav just an arbitrary order) Goldenglow is one of my all time favourites, I love her design sooo much its so cute I stockpiled emotes and used her as an icon even before I actually started playing the game, and then when I actually got to Light Sparks in Darkness I was glued to the event the whole time... her story about trying to give the Infected and poor of Caladon dignity and having such a simple dream crushed by the greed of the rich in the area hit really close to home... I don't think people talk about the scene where Haze talks her down from committing suicide enough, that scene is REALLY good and one of the standout moments in Arknights for me. Also s3 carries me through every boss thank u susie <3

I probably have to choose between Silence and Ptilopsis cuz they're so intertwined so it would be sort of pointless to just do both of them for 2 and 3. I'll go with Silence cuz she has way more screentime even though I do love Joyce a whole whole bunch Unlike GG I had 0 clue about her before I started playing and sort of experienced her story out of order, I read Dorothy's Vision and was like "yeah she's cool :)" and then didn't think about her that much and then I finally got convinced into reading the manwha and it transformed my mind forever... the complexity of her story and relationship with Ifrit and Saria and Rhine Lab, how selfless & passionate she is to make up for the things she did wrong... ;-; < 3333. The underdog story of all of these great minds in columbia being unfolded by a tired, dedicated 5 nothing owl mom is so good. I also really love her design and Nori might be my favourite AK artist so every piece of art he does of her I love seeing. (also i really like guardians of gahoole as a kid so im obssessed with owls)

Pudding :) Shes so cute. Let me get straight to the point. I have seal 13. I don't want to be too negative on my account hashtag peace and love... BUT... Related to earlier mentions... I kind of can't get behind Redblade/GG anymore. It's not necessarily that I hate the idea of them together, but it feels like "red miraculously showing up to save GG from problems" is pretty much the weakest storytelling aspect of Light Sparks in Darkness that exists just to move the plot along and as a whole the pairing almost always feels like it severely downplays the depths of her character in favor of STRONG MAN protect CUTE GIRL. It's a very stereotypical M/F pairing I'm much more interested in her relationship with Quercus or Haze, both of who have seen Susie at her lowest points and reached out to support her, as opposed to Red who pretty much just like. is nice to her and saves her from goons Also every single male doc / female operator pairing kinda grosses me out, it's pandering that reduces the characters to one note caricatures of themselves. If you read doc as male all of his actual in-universe relationships are made less interesting by being romantic or you are inventing a sex god chad that does not exist to magically seduce operators that do not interact with him in the story. I was going to call it self-insert garbage but the male!doc/female operator fan content i have seen is an insult to self-insert garbage.

P.S. I like wracked my brain to find a yuri pairing i didnt like becasue i dont think being like. straight people are NOT COOL is going to be controversial at all on tumblr dot gov but i legitimately could not think of a popular one that i couldn't at least slightly get behind. even the worst yuri mischaracterization is fine to me ive seen the horrors of gachabro fancomics

New to Arknights and did my first CC!

This is the first time I’ve experienced CC and my goal was to get the medal for clearing rank 18. I spent 2-3 hours off and on for about 4-5 days trying over and over to make it work without much to show for it.

I took my A-team in and they got beat pretty easily. Tried all sorts of different deployment orders/placements/directions to no avail. Borrowed different operators to see if they could carry me and still wasn’t making it half way. Tried different combinations of contracts to see if some were easier than others. Realized pretty quickly block removal was going to be a hard pass because I couldn’t kill the trucks fast enough and that Horse Uncle (I do not remember his actual name, my friend calls him Horse Uncle and it’s suck with me!) was definitely the operator I should borrow because his skill was an AOE destruction of anything in his path. Didn’t matter if they were unblockable, the sailors, the robot, or the truck. It died under the glare of Horse Uncle.

Note: I am positive this is what the enemies saw as they approached Horse Uncle

After those realizations I ended up getting a bit over half way last night and felt like I made progress as the first chunk of the map was doable. I was able to deploy operators in a way to hold the line until Horse Uncle could pop off but was failing at the double boat coming through during his cool down. So that was the first thing I tried to solve today.

After some trial and error I realized that if I deploy Hoshi + drop Texas Alt with the right timing then I can kill the first 4 unblockable enemies without activating Horse Uncle, allowing me to save his skill for the first truck and tail end of the sailors/casters. This deployment was a nice bonus as Hoshi/Ptilo could also hold the line against the first of two trucks until the second one started coming. Then I popped Horse Uncles skill and kill both trucks together and all of the unblockable enemies inside. I was getting close!

I just couldn’t close it out though. No matter what I did there was one unblockable enemy that snuck through.  I droped Ch’en down at the goal to try and kill it. Not enough. I used Tex Alter to kill two other ones right before so she was on cooldown. I tried Kroos poking at it. It had too much health. I was so close but just couldn’t quite get there and I wasn’t even really close to killing it. I needed a lot more damage.

Enter Ifrit. Let me rephrase. Enter 99 DP Ifrit because I was using the triple DP cost for casters contract.Some of you may remember my love for Ifrit from an earlier post (https://www.tumblr.com/itsmearia/714611965966860288/new-arknights-player-update-one-of-the-first?source=share) but glad to say she was BACK. I thought maybe with her S3 I could kill the unblockable enemies as they went towards her. So I hop in, grind all the DP I can get, and boom drop down Iffy my love. Skill pops, things start dying and...

It still leaks through. It still has a little bit of health but no worries I think. I’ll drop Ch’en in front of it at the end and kill it. Get back to the same spot. Iffy sets the ground ablaze. The enemy walks towards the goal. Ch’en hits it and..

This thing has the tiniest sliver of health still and leaks. I’m distraught now because I’m so close and yet so far away. I’ve tried everything with this combination of operators and I’m just a taaad short. Ch’en is my best damage dealer for melee that will be available. I have almost no DP for any snipers or casters because I need to use it all for 99cost Iffy. And then it hit me. If I can’t deal more damage myself can I let the level deal more damage for me? Enter our savior and one of my absolutely favorite operators now who will forever mean a lot to me. Enter: thebestfirefightyouveeverseen.

  Only e1lvl30. Her attack isn’t very good and she doesn’t really do much for me normally except knock enemies into holes - of which there are none on this map. What there is however is water that deals damage over time to enemies that are in it. So the squad gets set up again. Horse Uncle is casting his disapproving glare at anything that dares interrupt his reading. Texas Alter is dropping mass aoe damage on enemies as much as she can. Hoshi is blocking enemies the best she can. Ifrit is setting the ground on fire. And Shaw is waiting patiently at the right goal having not swung her axe all round yet. That unblockable bane of my existence walks through the fire, wades through the water, and gets up to shaw with a teensy tiny bit of health left. And Shaw knocks it back into the water with her skill where the damage + water dot combines for it to die as it walks back towards her.

The final wave comes with a bunch of heavies but Hoshi has played Mass Effect before and remembers her job

And that’s that! For the first time since I’ve started playing I was able to try and complete a CC event and let me tell you, the dopamine rush I got was incredible. I love my little mobile tower defense game. I love my little operators trying their best as I work through every possible configuration I can think of. Most importantly I love Shaw, who with a lil knock back gave me the sweet sweet victory I had been working so hard for.

The French soccer team is such a bunch of big kids with a couple parent-figures, and i checked: a LOT of Aries suns in the team. Unsurprising for athletes as well. A couple Sagittarius, Giroud as the obvious Libra, Pogba vibing on his Pisces planet and the most glorious coherent-sun sign to position placement: Lloris is a Capricorn. The one 'surprise' for me is that Varane is a Gemini, which i didnt see coming.

Also I only saw one Leo, which i find surprising as i noticed tends to run in high level performing athletes.

Personality : Super chill. Yuki’s just a great, cool guy to be around and he’s really sweet. He is lowkey mischievous af, though, and so you’ll hear him snicker a lot. Let’s just say if you’re ticklish, you probably shouldn’t tell him.  Much like his birth parents and Douxie, Yuki is extremely caring for others.

If Yuki doesn’t like someone he’ll keep his interactions with them minimal but will still look out for them. Yuki’s a levelheaded guy and always tries to think before he acts. It’s pretty difficult to make Yuki legit mad (unless, of course, you’re threatening his loved ones) and when he is angry, it’s a cold sort of fury.

Brief Bio : Yuki was born to Akihito and Hako Saishi. His wizard father was a well-known and beloved man who led and mentored a secret community of fellow onmyoji (Japanese magicians). Three days after Yuki’s birth, Akihito and Hako were both murdered by Soru Taiga, a wizard bounty hunter. 

Douxie Casperan was able to find Yuki and best Soru Taiga before the magehunter could steal the child for whatever nefarious purposes. Douxie honored Akihito’s final request and took Yuki into his care, becoming his adoptive father.

As a child Yuki was very, very quiet. To the point of Douxie and Zoe constantly making sure the kid was still alive. And when he did cry it was the softest little weeps. Otherwise the vast majority of Yuki’s bebe years was just eating and sleeping. When Yuki was seven, baby Tilly came into the world.

Yuki’s been training to become a Master Wizard like Douxie. His dream is to use his mastery to follow in Akihito’s footsteps of being a full-time mentor and a safe place for other wizards and witches.

Fun Facts and Tidbits :

- Yuki has a wild spice tolerance. Imagine the spiciest thing you’ve ever eaten. Yuki can eat ten of those and ask for more. Carolina reapers tingle a bit, he says.

- Yes he wears punk sandals and no I can’t draw them rip

- His first piercing was the one on his nose.

- There are parts of Yuki’s neck tattoo that symbolize his family members : A flame for Douxie, a lightning bolt for Zoe, and a crescent moon for Tilly.

- If you wanna kidnap Yuki, just put a cat in the back of a truck and wait. A tiger works also. He just really loves cats lol

- The black contacts aren’t just edgy. They’re prescribed. Yuki’s blind, y’all.

Okay people listen up, I know no one cares but here’s a list of players I absolute don’t want to leave RealMadrid

1) Karim Benzema, whoever wants him to leave is crazy and doesn’t realize how much he does for this team. Scoring is important but team work is important too and he plays for the team and scores. We need him. Period. And he’s my favorite so seeing him play for another team will break my heart.

2) Sergio Ramos, cause come on! Sergio is our Captain he’s been in Madrid for what feels like forever and seeing him play with another club would physically hurt too much.

3) Raphaël Varane. Cause he’s one of the best central back in the world and considering who are the back ups at the moment... well... please Raphi stay (also if it’s not too much to ask how about we buy a decent central back as back up? Like I’ve been suggesting for the past...I don’t know 4, 5 years?)

4) Dani Carvajal. Cause when he’s not playing the team is at least 5 times worse than we he is, and sure these last two matches he made a lot of mistakes. But overal when he’s not playing we miss him too much.

5) Casemiro because I love him and he’s a good player.

6) Keylor Navas cause the way I see it he can handle the missteps of our defense way better than Courtois does. Besides I like him way more than Courtois so...

7) Asensio and Isco. Cause they’re my babies and I love them and they have to stay put period.

8) I wouldn’t mind if Seballos stays too. I like him a lot. He’s a good player and I think he deserves more space in the team.

9) Nacho, cause okay I think he’s absolute shit playing as a central back, but he’s a decent left and right back and he’s cute and sweet and I like him.

And that’s about it. I don’t want Marcelo and Modric and Kroos to leave but if it’ll happen and can survive it. But this 9 have to stay put. Please and thank you.
