How did you choose the names for the love interests?

most of the cast members' names are inspired by dragons actually! almost all of the names i transformed in some way so that i wasn't directly portraying any kind of mythology and was just inspired by them. the only exception is druk bc it was so short i didn't know how to transform it slxolwlzls

Kayn: Chinese dragon Fucanglong (the cang part transformed from Kang to Kayn)

Druk: Tibetan/ Bhutanese dragon Druk (straightforward)

Fenir: Norse dragon Fafnir (he was originally named Nir actually! but it eventually transformed into Fenir)

Etza: Aztec dragon Quetzalcoatl (i just plucked the Etza out of there)

Kuna'a: Filipino dragon Bakunawa

Aisa: i can't say actually. it starts leaning into potential spoiler territory. not drastically so, but enough

melo's alaris ramble part one(?)

i rarely ever ramble on here about my oc lore so this is a start heh :3 so first of all, my alaris mc's name is madeleine but I like to call them mink! and I currently have about two routes planned out for them 1. fluttering pages (fenir x mink)

the ship name came to me in a dream because mink has butterfly motifs and fenir being the hydra means that he's surrounded by a whole lotta books. so, fluttering pages was brought into the world.

as for what i'm planning, i do adore how contrasting the two are in terms of personality. mink is much more assertive and confident when it comes to communicating with others and tends to speak their mind and can come off a bit forward to others.. though they do have an underlying need to cover up their true emotions with such confidence, jokes and teasing. i do like the idea that they like to tease fenir (affectionately) and fenir being the only person to truly know about what they're thinking about (of course, after they get together) fenir and mink have similar soft and pastel-y colour palettes and whenever I think about the two, I think of soft watercolours and flower fields... It's really adorable. 2. moonlight painting (kuna'a x mink) moonlight comes from kuna'a and painting from mink due to their love for art. they paint pictures in their free time and indulges in all sorts of art forms. these two have me in quite the chokehold due to how their colour palettes sort of contrast in a way, especially since mink prefers to dress in lighter colours and pastels. though, mink's base dress (the one with the butterfly skirt) is night sky-themed and I think that little similarity is REALLY cute. kuna'a's clothes are themed after a dark night sky while Mink's is a bluer night sky with stars dusted all around it. personality wise, they are quite similar and mink can be just as cryptic and mysterious as kuna'a. besides the fact that kuna'a is made out to be this big bad villain, I feel like the two of them would get along had the circumstances be different. I imagine a back and forth of the two being at odds, but eventually the two of them begin to warm up to one another. i, too, like to imagine this little ship as unrequited (how evil of me I know) from kuna'a's side due to mink's unwavering loyalty to fenir and how in retrospect, it's better for mink to be with someone like fenir who can balance them out. i'd also like to note how mink has stars in their eyes and my little heart crumbled when I realised that kuna'a likes constellations GAHH I WANNA MAKE PLAYLISTS NOW.

Going shopping with Pride in your world can be quite the experience. You have already done it a couple of times, but there’s still a million wonders for him to discover that make such a mundane task something to remember for both of you. One shouldn’t trust his serene appearance—your lover is a curious soul lured in by anything that catches his eye for even a second, and his impulses are hard to rein in. Today is no exception.

You turn your head around when he loudly gasps, and you find him examining a plushie from one of the shelves. There's a shrewd look in his eye as he recognizes the shape of the many plushies that crowd your bed.

“Darling, look!” He picks it up, a wide smile stretching his lips. “This is one of your plush toys!”

You take a step closer to him to take a better look at the plushie. It’s a white bunny—and that’s as far as the similarities between it and your Cinamoroll plushies go. It’s one of those Valentine’s gifts; a smiling little bunny holding a red heart with the words ‘I love you’ written on it.

You don’t point that out, though, not when he is looking at you like that, expectant, waiting for your excitement to match his. Smiling because of the expression on his face rather than for the plushie, you pet its fluffy head. “It’s very cute,” you agree.

“He seems well-behaved. I think it would be happy to join the others. The orange fish is not great company, I must say.”

You blink at him before your eyes slide to the shelf. Next to the now empty spot where the bunny was seconds ago sits an orange fish that has seen better days. Its eyes are bulgy and poorly woven, and the price tag doesn’t make it much better.

“Allow me to buy it for you,” Pride says then, carrying the bunny against the crook of his arm protectively. “It would make a fine addition to your collection.”

Before you can think of protesting, he’s already walking away and up to the clerk on the other side of the hallway. You can faintly hear him ask, “Excuse me, could I please acquire this?”, followed by the good-natured chuckle of the clerk, who guides him to the cashier.

Part of you wants to stop him. There’s no need to buy you anything and you have way more plushies than your bed can shelter, but yet, as you watch him get in line, you stay put. You are not about to ruin his excitement, not in a million years. You will make sure this bunny gets as much love as the rest.

Fenir: leaves it to you unless ur a "kind" mc, then he'll step in. kinda flounders but he's stubborn and will always win in a battle of willpower

Just in case you don’t know what a beige flag is, it’s basically just a quality about your partner that is just unique/weird enough to stand out but ultimately not something that needs to be stopped. Kayn: kinda quiet. honestly their hearts broken but they aren't sure what to say or do, so they just accept it. if u clarify, they'll feel rlly relieved (might even laugh a little from pure relief) and tell you how silly they feel for the conclusion they just jumped to

Druk: starts thinking about everything he did recently that might have put you off. begs to talk about it and promises to do better. you'll have to rush to correct him, then he'll literally be like... *head in hands* "omg why didn't u say so earlier 😭"

Fenir: throat tightens and his heart starts racing. he tries to say something--clarify why you want a break all of a sudden, etc.--but he finds that none of the words he wants to say escape him. when you continue and it becomes clear it's not the "space" he's thinking of, he sighs rly loudly and says thank goodness under his breath

Etza: on the outside they'll look only like mildly upset, so you think they'll be fine with it even if you feel a little guilty for making them sad. but on the inside, etza's mind is going a million miles/hour and they are trying to think of all these ways they can get you to not break up with them and ways they haven't been fulfilling your needs lately, etc. when they understand it's not what they think it is, they'll just look like ^^; but the whole conversation definitely leaves them Shaken and they're totally off their game the rest of the day

Kuna'a: gets this rly dangerous look in their eye. you'll immediately wonder if you said something wrong and why they're so pissed over giving you just a little bit of space. he'll demand a reason and when you give it, he'll ask why you want to break up over something so small. cue immediate clarification; their brow will kinda twitch from the emotional turmoil u just put them thru but they'll begrudgingly give u the space u need (as long as it doesn't mean ur breaking up)

Aisa: tbh i feel like aisa is the least likely to misunderstand for some reason LFALSDIFJ. like if u ask for space they'll literally just physically step away from you and ask if that's good, like their mind is not as likely to immediately jump to u breaking up with them adjfaidfilfjd

Say the LIs are dating an adorably naive MC. Someone who is maybe a little slow in picking stuff up and doesn't always understand the things being said. And say said MC is mocked and belittled by others but doesn't know How do each LI respond to that? Just read a book that had this and made me think of Alaris lol

Kayn: has a (scary) smile on their face. tries to distract u from whatever they're saying until eventually ur both able to tune them out. those bullies better not catch kayn on the street tho KFKSKSL especially if he's alone without u or they r gonna GET IT

Druk: sending death glares at them. tells them to repeat themselves, but his tone (and muscles) r pretty intimidating so the bullies Do Not in fact repeat what they said KDKSK. if u ask what's going on, druk will tell ur bullies to break it down, but ofc he's scary so they again Do Not do that and just quietly back down

Fenir: sensitive to these kinds of things so immediately picks up on if someone is mocking/belittling you. just tries to get you out of the situation, so makes up an excuse to leave that doesn't tip u off to what's happening. doesn't tell u what happened for ur sake but you'll def notice he's stewing for the rest of the day

Etza: sticks up for u in a way that won't tip u off to them belittling you but effectively shuts the bullies down. removes u from the situation and you'll notice they treat you a little kinder that day, tho u aren't completely sure why.

Kuna'a: straight up tells them to stop yapping LKFLSOSO. if u ask why bc u don't know what they said/did wrong, he'll tell u he just finds their voices annoying and won't say more than that. if the bullies continue tho, he will get more and more aggressive w his attempts to get them to shut up ldkxksks

Aisa: also might not pick up on whether mc is being belittled tbh depending on how subtle the bullies r being about it. gonna shoot the bullies an intense stare as they try to figure out what the bullies r saying. the stare is intimidating enough that the bullies stop kddkksksk
