She lifts his hand, intertwining their fingers. She stares through his soul, her lips brushing against his knuckles. A kiss that stayed longer, as though she was leaving an invisible mark.

"You're the only one I can entrust this."

"I will die a million times before I let that happen, Iwanaga."

"So, you promise?"

Kuro leans down, bringing their intertwined hands to his lips, sealing it with a kiss.

"I promise."

I just realized this but in your kurokoto mafia au, was kuro's chain of misfortune indirectly related to the Iwanaga group?

Oh my! Yes indeed, you are correct. ;) Kuro’s breakup with Saki was its own thing, but the damage to the place where he was working and the issues with his apartment complex were due to some rival gangs causing trouble before Kotoko stepped in. (both were eventually resolved; the shop was repaired and the people at the apartment complex didn’t have to frantically move, but by then it was too late for Kuro himself to turn back lol.)

The Fallen and the God of Wisdom

Pairing: Kurou Sakuragawa/Kotoko Iwanaga

TW: soft gore and definitely not a happy fic

‘Please help us, Oh God of Wisdom.’

It still feels strange after all these years, when they all used to cower in his presence, to be disgusted by his existence. ‘A monster of all monsters,’ they used to call him.

'But you are still human,' she'd tell him, petite fingers caressing his face, soft lips pressed against his forehead.

“M'lord! That thing- that thing is scary! Perhaps scarier than you!”

“And yet we are still lured into its presence.”

He listens to the yokais concerns, walking deeper into the forest. A mindless monster with a human body who tries to devour anything within its range, as petite as it is. At night, it prowls throughout the forest, growling and guttural screams even the bigger yokais cower in its presence. In some way, it reminded him of Steel Lady Nanase. Except it is not a Monster of Imagination. 'It'll never be,' he thinks.

“M'Lord, have you determined a way to defeat it?”

“I'll probably have to use violence with this one,” he says.

Then he hears the yokais scutter away. He breathes. 'I have to do this,‘ he tells himself. He hears a scream. Raw and guttural. Asking for help. Asking for everything to end. For its existence to end. Kuro grits his teeth, digging his nails until it bleeds. When he heard the rumors, he knew it right away. Until the last minute, he hoped he was not right.

'It's the Fallen Goddess,' the yousei whispers. 

When he lifts his face, he almost, almost ran to wrap his arms around her, to tell her how much he missed her all these years, that he's been doing so well as the mediator of yokais alone, that he wants her to be proud of her. He almost thought that she's back, that everything will come back to normal, that they'll have those banters again.

Except what he sees is a hollow vessel of Kotoko Iwanaga, her lifeless, unseeing eye, her clumsy, mindless movements with right leg barely holding her up, falling to the ground a couple times, the frills of her dress all torn up.

It was the same dress she wore before she left their home to help a yokai in this mountain. He searched and searched seeking yokais' help to find her. But none of them knew. 'A curse,' one of them told him. 'M'lady just disappeared from our radar after her encounter with a Tatarigami.’ Days turn to weeks to months and years, and there wasn't any news about her.

'I'll be the God of Wisdom,' he announced one day, because he knows it's what she would've wanted, he knows this role meant so much for her she was always willing to risk her life for it.

He walks towards her, crouching when he is within her reach. Kotoko twists her head and the moment she saw him, she crawled towards him, teeth bared aiming at his face. Kuro sat upright and offered his right arm for her. Kotoko devoured his flesh right away, scratching his torso until he bled.

He pats her head, running his fingers through her hair. 'Ah, you haven't been taking care of your hair,' he thinks.

“Hey,” he whispers, caressing her cheek, drenched in his own blood. “You can rest now. You always work too hard.”

Kuro released his hand from her mouth, Kotoko's teeth baring at him, he holds her face, softly, gently.

He sees the glint of the metallic band on Kotoko's left hand matching his.

“I love you, Kotoko Sakuragawa,” he says, kissing her forehead.

And for a moment, he thinks he sees life coming back to her left eye, tears almost falling down from it. And when he blinks, she disintegrated to bones, consumed by the poison of his flesh.

He finds her wedding ring, clutching onto it with his dear life.

“Without you, I wouldn't know how to live anymore. But now I have to.”

One day I had a thought ‘hey Steel Lady Nanase but it’s Kotoko’. I posted this without editing anything so sorry for the low quality. I just really had to write something for this pairing.

watching the eng dub of kyosuiri and idk how to feel about it ///

i think the VA’s do a great job, but i guess i don’t think they’re the right voices for them? i get that kotoko looks like a doll/lolita, but i really wanted a more mature and persuasive voice for her bc that’s the enigma of her. yes, she’s short and is cute, but her personality would beg to differ. she’s confident, manipulative, witty, and a smartass. i don’t think that translates well with a shaky and innocent voice. the tone and speech patterns is kinda off for her.

and then kuro’s voice is again, not bad, but maybe not the best choice. he’s not really manly so having any deepness or raspiness gives the illusion of a character that’s ambitious with a lot of passion... he’s has neither of these things. he’s polite, listless, and comes off boring because that is his mask. he doesn’t know how to function as a human. nonetheless, that’s his enigma. an average man of average build being completely average, but he himself is not an average being. yeah, he’s a smartass to kotoko, but he’s mundane and passive everywhere else. 

idk. again, it’s not the actual job that’s bad, just the choice? i wouldn’t be excited for these voices unless i was already seeking them out... and maybe i’m already critical of the anime because the things they already leave out have already confused a lot of the audience in a turned off way vs. actual curiosity. the actors do fantastically well in their styles, but as their styles fitting the characters... that’s where it’s going to be interesting i guess

the fact that i made that kurokoto post before vol. 11′s release and my interpretation of kotoko was spot on makes me wanna scREAM
