He felt that his body was the solution, so in what better way can he lay claim to servitude to his cause by giving it away, is what came to Lance's mind as he clutched Blue's lever and pulled her fowards.

He was suprised by the odd calm he felt during that moment, one would have thought that they would be subject to a flurry of panic and disorganised thoughts, but Lance felt that he finally would have served purpose. Something he had been chasing when he left his family, his home, a yearning that grew stronger when he saw his peers thrive, his friends rise up the ranks whereas he stayed down, along with his spirit.

So when Allura had served Lance with a platter of pure purpose, being told that only he and a few others stood between death and absolute oblivion, it came as a godsend.

Purpose, purpose, purpose was all that swept through Lance's mind as he closed off comms, finally putting a stop to the confused pleas of his team, begging him to not push fowards.

The ion blast had dropped an enclave of darkness in Blue's cabin but all Lance could feel was light.
