✅The good brewers at De Koningshoeven have taken their standard La Trappe Quadrupel and have produced special limited edition aged in oak. Each year they use different sources of oak barrels which are then expertly blended together to deliver a unique offering for each Batch. Batch 25 that I am reviewing today is blended in August 2016 from the following Barrels: Used barrels Kirsch-schnapps 59% New Oak Medium Toast 30% Dry white wine (Pouily Fumé & Sancerre) 11% Bottle 375ml at 11% ABV. ✨Tasting 📝: 🍺 Aroma: Vanilla, almond, caramel, malt. A refreshing scent reminiscent of white wine (floral and slightly sour). 🍺 Taste / Palate: Complex, Sweet Raisins, plum, fig, Honey, Vanilla, almond, caramel, oak and malt. 🍺 Finish: a bit dry with light oak and hint of cherries from the Krisch barrel. ✨Conclusion: La Trappe Oak Aged Quadrupel Batch 25 is a quite complex yet amazingly easy to drink. It can bee enjoyed now or can be cellared for a while for even more complexity.
