I Was On My Way (To Buy Some Flowers For You) | Laura Freigang

a/n: here are some flowers for you too 💐

It’s kind of a favour for Sydney, that you attend one of her Germany games.

She has been complaining for the longest time that it is unbelievable of you to have been her friend since childhood and yet, not turn up to watch her play.

So you decide that enough is enough, she’s right and it is time that you do.

Sydney is thrilled when you ask her for a ticket and she excitedly sets you up with one. She also teasingly tries to get you to wear her jersey but you shoot her down, saying baby steps first.

That is how you end up sitting in the stands, watching as your friend makes her rounds for her fans at the end of the game.

It is an amazing atmosphere, euphoric really and you begrudgingly think that you might have to ask Sydney for a ticket more often.

She must know what’s going on in your head because there is a wide grin on her face as she stops in front of your section of the stands.

There’s a cute blonde next to her and you make a mental note to ask the midfielder who she is, when you meet her for dinner.

Sydney laughs for a long time when you do ask.

‘Aren’t you glad you’ve finally come to one of my games?’

‘Syd…’ You groan and she only laughs harder before composing herself with some difficulty.

‘Her name’s Laura. She plays in Frankfurt and yes, she’s single. Funnily enough, she pointed you out too.’

‘She what?’

‘She picked you out of the crowd and said that you’re pretty. Now Laura has never done that before so something about you must have really drawn her in.’

You blush and the Bayern Munich player smirks.

You bring a single rose with you, to watch your country play.

Laura plays this time and when she scores, you cheer like you have been a football fan for your entire life.

She kind of has you in awe with how she plays. She’s clearly passionate about the sport and that only makes you more attracted to her.

Sydney knows where you are so at the end of the ninety minutes, she not so subtly drags the striker over.

Laura goes with her and stares into the stands with confusion until she notices you.

You give her a smile and Syd nudges her fellow player forward until she’s right in front of you.

‘This is for you.’ You softly say and she takes the flower from you with a bright blush and whispered thank you.

Up close, you can see how beautiful the colour of her eyes are. Her features are delicate and she has loose strands of blonde hair framing her face.

It seems that for all her confidence on the pitch, Laura can be quite shy.

A fact that Sydney seems to enjoy because she giggles next to the striker until she pushes her none too gently away.

‘I love the rose. D-Do you want a photo? It’s the least I can do.’ She stammers.

‘Of course.’

The blonde takes your phone from you gently and you two smile for the photo before she passes it back.

‘Thank you for coming and thank you for the flower again.’

‘It’s no problem.’ You reply, catching even more feelings when you see a smile grace her face again.

You come to the next two games, bringing a daisy with you for the first and a tulip for the second.

Laura had gasped when she saw the tulip.

‘This is my favourite. In my favourite colour too. How did you know?’

‘I didn’t. I just thought that you would like it.’ You confess.

You find that you like how happy she is, especially when she smells it and brushes her fingers across the petals daintily.

Sydney doesn’t tell Laura that she knows you, finding it far too amusing to watch you attempt to gain the blonde’s affections and to watch Laura gay panic.

On the fourth time you come to Germany’s game, she catches the striker standing in the tunnel and searching the crowd for you, before kick off.

Laura is enamoured with you and Sydney knows that while she thinks you are just a nice fan of hers, she is beginning to want more than just that with you.

The younger woman is barely able to keep it together, dying of laughter as she takes out her phone to text you.

‘Just make a move already.’ She pleads.

So you do.

‘On a date?’ You ask hopefully.

Laura grins.

One date turns into two and two turns into more than you can count.

Laura turns from a woman who catches your eye, into your girlfriend and then into the love of your life.

pro pipe e pro matías seria mais complicado, a princípio eles não entendem, o matías por exemplo vai dizer "ah eu já tive isso", como se ele tivesse falando sobre ter piolho, mas depois de perceberem que é mais sério e precisam ser mais sensíveis eles super conversariam com alguém mais sabido do assunto, old que o buscar deles dois seria cheio de "como ajudar pessoa com tdah", "o que são tiques", "como funciona tea nivel suporte 1", e eles te perguntariam (talvez fossem até um pouco invasivos nesse sentido, mas pediriam desculpa se te incomodasse)

bônus (all): caso você tivesse um hiper foco eles ouviriam sobre e se fosse algo colecionável, tipo gostar de algum herói da marvel/dc, hello kitty, dinossauros, astros, eles apareceriam cada semana com algo diferente dizendo "ó, lembrei de vc quando vi" 💐

This was a great question to think about! I had so much fun figuring out which medium every OC would pick.

Yael for Nate: The painting 'Rough Sea with Wreckage' by Turner shown above. Although she doesn't know everything about Nate's past, the imagine of the lonely ship out on a rough sea makes her think about what Nate may have been through. It reminds her of the scene in the mirror, how could it not?

There's also the contrast between the light and the darker clouds, and it's unclear whether the ship is sailing into the storm or coming out of it. It makes her feel the tension of the unknown: the things she doesn't know about his past, the uncertainties of their future together. It's more emotion that she gets from this piece than anything articulated in words, but that suits her, I think.

Melike for Morgan: The poem 'i like my body when it is with your' by e. e. cummings. The physicality of the poem reminds them of Morgan, but there's also this sense of.. wonder, that "thrill" of something new that is mentioned at the end. Melike is very self-contained and it comes as a surprise to her how much they have grown to like Morgan's company. I can see her choose this poem because of the physical descriptions, but then get quiet and contemplative when going over it a second time, because of how those first lines suggest a change in her as well. It's about them, even though neither of them is quite sure what "they" are.

Gabi for Farah: The song I already like you by Dessa, because it's such an upbeat song! Gabi loves how Farah throws herself into their relationship, not holding back, she's open and honest and "Let's go!". The entire vibe of the song fits Farah so well, but what Gabi would pick out specifically is the "There's no sure bet // You just ride, ride, ride roulette" because she herself is the type of person who would want to be 100% sure before doing anything, but Farah is showing her that it's not all that bad to go for it.

Also, I can imagine Farah humming this song after picking it up from one of Gabi's playlists.

Laura for Ava: Laura is too cool for me lol! She would answer with a meme or a movie reference, but I don't know enough about either to give a good answer.

oh my goddd he would combust. thinking abt the coco gauff and laura siegemund situation. imagine her opponent keeps letting the serve clock expire and the ref is doing nothing. then imagine the ref gives girlie a time violation? oh yea, she’s going off. she’s trying to keep her composure, “I don’t care what she does with her serve, but for my serve she has to be ready.” and they’re going back and forth for a little bit, but the commentators are agreeing with her as she argues w the ref. (imagine if it’s some old man lol, bonus points) and her just being like “Everyone in this crowd knows I’m right, I don’t know what to tell you if you can’t keep up with me.” walking away to serve again (very aggressively lol). the ref giving her problems later in the match and she’s like “You don’t even know what you’re talking about, who’s listening to you?” probably leads to a point penalty or fine lol whoopsie! yea after the game matty is ON her. “Know how to handle yourself so well, baby. Made him quiet so quick.” And his hands are all on her waist, pulling her into his lap as he kisses her neck. pressing his hips up into her so she can feel him, while he’s whispering to her how good she looks when she’s angry and how he loves when she gets all mad lol💐
