It was probably a mix of causes.

Politics definitely had a role, but it was also a matter of feeling trapped.

Probably he felt the company didn't appreciate him enough and he felt more appreciation for his solo activities in China.

I feel that "politics" at this point is mostly a safe excuse for everyone, for SM especially, because saying "SM sucks and I'd rather have a solo career" doesn't sound as good as blaming the world's situation.

As for how he feels, he might've faced complicated emotions, but now he feels like he managed to balance everything.

Like the Hanged Man, he might be in a weird position, but he's satisfied with it.

I think "spreadwork" sounds weird but idk what else to call it

I think a lot of modern tarot spreads assume that the key to a powerful spread is figuring out exactly how to phrase a question, and so the best spreads have the most curated lists of questions.

If we take a spread type people seem to have trouble with - let's go with spirit communication - the take seems to be, "you're just not wording your question correctly," or, "you're just not asking the right questions."

So a spirit communication tarot spread becomes, "here is a list of seven carefully worded questions - draw one card for each."

I'm not denying that learning how to frame questions is an important part of reading tarot.

But I do think it might not be as important as learning how to build spreads that are resilient enough to answer almost any question (within a certain category), even if it's phrased badly.

I think a huge part of tarot (and one that may unfortunately be lost or difficult to obtain with digital decks) is learning, for lack of a better term, "spreadwork" - how the actual placement and designations of the cards are actively involved in adding information to your reading.

When I say "designations" of the cards, here is what I mean:

Some spreads assign a specific question to a card, while other spreads designate what part of your own question a card should answer.

Suppose you would like a reading on your career. If you go to find a premade spread, one of them might look like this:

Card 1: What to focus on in your work life.

Card 2: Your greatest professional strength.

This spread is providing a list of inquiries. You draw one card for each.

However, a different spread may provide designations to respond to a topic of your own choosing, like this:

Card 1: What you are wrong about, or see without clarity.

Card 2: Information you thought was important, but won't end up mattering.

In this second example, we can choose our own specific question, such as, "will this job opportunity work out, or should I start looking for a new job?" And the spread will start giving answers: "When it comes to your job opportunity, what you're wrong about is..."

This is in contrast to the first set, where the questions are provided for you. "Should you seek a new job? Well, your greatest professional strength is being a good listener, does that help?"

And I think as readers, some of that skill - to learn how to assign your own designations - has been lost, superseded by emphasis on learning how to phrase questions.

There are infinite ways to designate a card, but we can consider a few common categories: signifiers; past, present, or future; final outcome; significant details and major theme; subtext and external influences; pitfalls, roadblocks or easiest paths; advice; and a category which I'll call negative cards - "this is not the correct path, this is not the advice to take away from this reading, this is not going to be the outcome."

And then you start to say - okay. I want to work with a signifier. That's my first card. But this spread is about feeling burdened, so when I place my cards, the signifier will be at the "bottom" of the spread.

And I want to know the most major thing blocking me. It's important - I'll put it at the top. One card. But that's not enough detail. So below that I'll have a couple of triads - the details triad, the past/present/future triad, and the "what am I doing wrong?" triad. Now it's an eleven card spread - one signifier, one major theme, and a set of three triads with their own designations.

Then you work with the spread a few times, and it flows okay, but not great. Details are repeated. There's a lot of dead weight on this spread, and the most difficult part to work with is the "what am I doing wrong?" triad.

So now we practice spreadwork (cardwork? idk.). And we take that troublesome triad and make it, "what is my best advice? What am I doing right?"

But of course that doesn't fit with the flow, it's a bunch of support cards in the middle of a blockage spread, so you take that triad out and put it beneath the burdened signifier - and now it's a foundation of support, a solid rock on which to stand.

This is what I mean by learning to work with spreads as a skill regardless of how you phrase the question. At that point, what does it matter if you phrase the question "what is blocking me?" or "what is my greatest blockage?" or "show me what's stopping me from succeeding?"

The question and how it's phrased becomes incidental to learning to work with the flow of information, learning to feel the energetic movement between the cards.

Do you always have to draw clarifiers for a certain card? Examine your designation - what piece of information do you always need to make the reading complete? Then add in a new permanent position to fill that need - "this is my greatest burden (card 1), it specifically exists within this part of my life (card 2)."

There are other aspects to explore also - will you flip over all the cards at once, or just one at a time? Will you lay the cards out in a geometric grid and read the relationships between mirrored pairs? Will you stack cards on top of each other? Will you move and rearrange the cards half-way through the reading to produce something danged awesome?

I'm sure people are getting tired of me ranting about it, but the longer I read, the more I become convinced that the pictures on the card and the book meanings that go along with it take up such a smaller piece of the interpretation pie than I once believed. I now believe that other factors - such as how you choose to organize a spread, and the designations within it - constitute a large part of the information flow within a tarot spread. I think it is somewhat telling that if I want to do a very specific, concise reading, the "card meanings" constitute a minority of information gathering.

From what I'm getting, none of these members are particularly "wealthy" most of them I would say are "comfortable". But calling them wealthy would be like comparing Bill Gates' wealth to a homeless persons (not saying they're homeless btw)

Baekhyun- He seems to be the most stable financially to the point that he seems quite unamused with his life. He's really bored. It's like the energy of a person that has all of their bills paid with a nice amount of money sitting in the bank and now is just looking around at what to do next

Kai- His finances is giving me the energy of a person walking away from the gambling table, not exactly empty handed but he doesn't have a pocket full of gold either. It could be that while being in the military he doesn't have much access to his money or gaining any wealth. I'm also seeing some betrayal here, so I'm not sure if he put someone in charge of his money but they could be screwing him over

Suho- I think he bought something quite big recently (like a house/apartment/building etc...) and in terms of his net worth he's sitting pretty high up but when it comes to liquid assets (physical money one has access to) he doesn't have much. It's probably bc of this purchase. I'm also seeing a possible new project, so overall he's invested his money into something so rn he has none, but there is a possibility as time goes by that he would get a return on his investment

D.O- Rn he's fighting to get more acting roles and gigs. I think he wants a specific role that's costing him time and money since he's wasting time waiting to get this role and arguing with ppl over it. When he could be using this time to make money doing other things instead of obsessing over a role he probably won't get. This energy is also giving arguments with the company SM and his manager as well

Xiumin- I don't think he's making any money doing anything besides being an idol. Maybe he has small gigs here and there but they're few and far between. Good thing is that he has the drive and motivation to up his finances (unlike some of his other members, I'll get to them soon)

Chanyeol- He has no passion rn to work or any motivation to make money so his money isn't growing. He could be completely over being an idol and would rather spend his days hanging out with friends (lowkey living the slum life, no shade lol). The energy feels like he's housing a bunch of his boys and they're all just drinking and smoking all day while jamming to music.

Sehun- I don't know if these guys have a contract renewal coming up but it seems like he's waiting to get out of his contract. If it's not with SM , it's with another gig he worked for. It's like he doesn't want the responsibilities of some type of job anymore (I'm not sure if it's his idol job or something else). He's quite over it and he also isn't feeling up to working rn so his money is suffering for that

Chen- He's spending more than he's making. I think he's finding it hard to focus on work these days, I see his wife and possibly his children (but more so his wife) taking up a lot of his time and money. The wife could overspend but he also could too, like buying the kids random things they don't need. But I also see his health isn't the best, he's not taking care of himself properly.

Lay- I don't know what's going on but it's like his putting in a lot of work and putting in the time but he's not really seeing a lot of money for it. Whatever he's doing these days for money seems like dead end jobs that won't really get him anywhere financially but leaves him feeling burnt out. Also, he's spending a lot of money on a romantic relationship, buying them gifts and possibly funding his lovers life style. It's like hes taking his girl on a bunch of shopping sprees that he lowkey can't afford. And it's not that he's broke but it's just that it takes A LOT OF WORK and hustling on his part to make money so he can't recklessly spend like he has.

Hi fellow eri!!! They are one of my fave groups too, so this reading was super interesting but also a bit hard. I need to say that soulmates/twin flames aren't always romantic partners, they can be a friend, a relative, anyone who allows us to grow as humans. There can also be several soulmates, so this reading really felt like looking for a needle in a haystack for some members. Since there's 9 of them, I decided to divide the reading into groups of three members, hopefully it won't take me too long to post all of them.

I wanted to divide by age groups, but then I decided to begin with these three because I feel that they already have this soulmate in their life and I could get more clear info and I wanted to post Chen's reading asap because it's so cute, so sorry to the third oldest who got his place stolen lmao.

I also wanted to use only tarots, but while for some members (these three btw) the reading was pretty clear, I really needed more info for the others, so I picked some oracle cards. I still decided to pick some oracle cards even for XiuLayChen simply because I like to give everyone a similar number of cards lmao

Cards: rev high priestess, rev 8 of pentacles, rev 8 of wands, equilibrium, cheerfulness, bridge

They seem a very different person from him, their personality might be opposite of each other. Minseok is generally a calm person while his soulmate might be more chaotic or out there.

I feel this might be an actual love relationship because I can sense a lot of sexual attraction that they want to keep under control.

They probably have to keep their relationship a secret, not weird since Minseok is an idol.

I’m getting a lot of chaotic energy from this, so I’m sorry if what I’m saying doesn’t make much sense.

8 of pentacles is generally tied to work and effort so this might have two meanings: 1) this person works closely to him, they might be a fellow idol or a celebrity 2) it’s a relationship that will need a lot of “spiritual work”, if they’re keeping it a secret then they might be putting a lot of effort into that, they are careful when they meet, they try to choose places that aren’t crowded or that would attract the attention. 

It’s possible that the “spiritual work” I talk about is actually caused by the two of them being celebrities, he has direct experience of what idols go through when they date, even with non-celebs, so imagine the scandal if he’s dating with a fellow idol. You need a lot of mental strength to go through that and it’s possible Xiumin doesn’t feel like dealing with it atp

8 of wands indicates that it might’ve been love at first sight, or at least an attraction that began pretty early on. They instantly clicked, despite the different personalities. They might have similar interests, similar values, they might have fun together or they simply thought they’re hot and just decided to hit on the other.

I have this feeling that everything is a bit out of control, like they were overwhelmed by their own feelings and they’re kinda working on putting everything under control.

Maybe it’s also because all the cards are reversed, but I sense a lot of “let’s do things properly, let’s fix this”.

It’s possible that the imbalance I felt at the beginning also derives from this: Minseok might truly want to be careful, but the other person is careless.

It's funny that the first oracle card I picked was equilibrium while the other is cheerfulness.

I think this might point to these opposite forces, Minseok being the one who wants to be careful and balance properly all the aspects of his life, while the other person is cheerful, a burst of positive emotions that could be dangerous if they're leaked to the public.

Bridge is probably what they both need to aspire to, being more open with each other, Xiumin expressing his worries and the other person should listen to them, but also Xiumin shouldn't get so anxious and probably he should trust more his partner.

Lay

Cards: rev ace of swords, rev page of swords, rev death, self care, courtship, fight

They might be someone related to their past like a relative or a classmate.

I don’t think it’s a love relationship in this case.

This person is someone he can talk to. If he has any worry, if he has ideas or dreams.

Ace of swords makes me think of someone who is generally ready to have good theoretical conversations, but being reversed I think they’re better off just listening rather than giving advice (lmao).

I tend to lean toward someone either younger than him (so they lack a lot of experience), someone totally unrelated to his job (so unable to give good advice because they don’t know how it works) or someone who is just naive and with their head in the clouds.

I feel a very tender energy, like Lay probably doesn’t reach out for this person because they’ll offer him valuable help, but he probably just really cares about them and he just likes talking to them.

It might be something like a younger brother, or a nephew or a grandparent. There’s this very nice familial love. Even if they don’t understand him, they still love each other.

I don’t really know anything about his family so I can’t really say how close I am to the truth.

With the oracles I picked self-care. As I said above, he doesn't hang out with this person because he gain anything from them, but only out of love for them. I think he might just feel relaxed whenever they're together, like receiving healing.

There's a lot of love, probably they often exchange small gifts with each other (if this person is a grandmother, which is the main energy I'm feeling now, she might cook a lot for him for example), they might be the type of person who tells him to find a girlfriend asap and get married because he's an adult or something similar.

But as I said, these two live in two completely different universes. It's possible in the past they used to fight or they had moments where they were apart from each other. If the grandmother theory is true, she probably didn't want him to leave his country to train in Korea or he didn't want him to become an idol at all.

Courtship and fight are essentially two opposite forces and I get a lot of these opposite dynamics going on between these two. They lack mutual understanding, but love and respect won over any possible disagreement.

Chen

Cards: rev 3 of wands, 10 of cups, 4 of wands, attempt, cheerfulness, harmony

Ten of cups is represented as a couple with two children.

4 of wands symbolizes weddings and families, so yeah I think we might have a vague idea what this is referring to, I don't think you need me to say anything more (btw congrats on his recent wedding ceremony!)

Reverse 3 of wands might imply that the path to reach their current happiness was very complex. They probably felt there were too many obstacles between them, it was probably hard to visualize an actual future together, there might have been some communication issue and it was probably hard to get a good balance between Chen’s job and his wife needs.

The oracle cards just fit very well with what I could see in the tarots, they probably had to work hard in order to be together as a couple and resist all the pressure they felt these past few years.

Cheerfulness is back (maybe a good omen for Minseok too? he might've found a stable partner too) paired with harmony (again reminds me of what Minseok wants to achieve with his relationship).

For Chen this means that he found his own balance. It's not easy for sure, but he made a choice, he knew the consequences and today he can probably say that he did the right thing, that he's happy in his private life and still holding on in Exo.
