Te comento que los estudiantes que verás en el vídeo pertenecen a la común rural de la parroquia San Francisco del Cantón San Lorenzo en la Provincia de Esmeraldas Ecuador, son parte importante del engranaje Etnoeducativo del espacio que lidera la profesora Lcda. Ena Quintero en las aulas de la Unidad Educativa José Gabriel Batallas.

La misma que por muchos años lleva impartiendo la materia de Etnoeducación Afroecuatoriana en las aulas con base en sus raíces, conocimientos ancestrales y cosmovisión propia de su cultura.

Concejo Cantonal resolvió entrega de Distinciones Honoríficas

Instituciones y personas que han contribuido con el adelanto del Cantón serán reconocidos por el Concejo Cantonal de Azogues, durante la sesión solemne de aniversario por el Bicentenario de Cantonización, a llevarse a cabo este miércoles 16 de abril de 2025, en el coliseo Tipo Mil de la ciudadela del Chofer.

El alcalde, Javier Serrano, y la presidenta de la Comisión de Cultura del Concejo Cantonal, María Fe Romero, explicaron que las distinciones se concretaron en dos sesiones reservadas de la entidad, del 3 y 10 de abril de 2025, luego de un proceso, en donde se recogió el aporte de sectores ciudadanos y evaluación de la trayectoria y aporte de los homenajeados.

De tal manera que las condecoraciones serán:

Presea al Mérito Cantonal “Ignacio Torres Tenorio”, para la Unidad Educativa Especial “Manuela Espejo”, entidad que ha demostrado vinculación con los grupos vulnerables del Cantón.

Presea “Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado Municipal de Azogues”, para la Cruz Roja del Cañar, institución que cuenta con una profunda vocación de servicio y asistencia médica a la ciudadanía.

Presea al Mérito Ciudadano “Vicente Cabrera Vega”, a la hermana Patricia Dota, directora de la “Casa Hogar de Jesucristo”, por su vocación de servicio y asistencia social.

Presea al Mérito Profesional “Luis Benigno Neira” al Profesor Ruperto Palomeque Trelles; destacado profesional de la educación que ha dejado en alto el nombre de Azogues.

Presea al Mérito Educativo “Luis Roberto Bravo González”, para las Escuelas de Educación General Básica “Dolores Sucre” y “Emilio Abad”, al conmemorar cada una de ellas un siglo de fructífera vida institucional, en el campo de la educación y formación de la niñez.
