Treatlife smart switch

We also provide seller ratings to warn you if the seller can be trusted or not. A = very trustworthy reviews, F = highly untrustworthy reviews. We give an A-F letter for trustworthiness of reviews. We look for real reviews that mention product issues such as counterfeits, defects, and bad return policies that fake reviews try to hide from consumers. Link to Fakespot Analysis | Check out the Fakespot Chrome Extension!įakespot analyzes the reviews authenticity and not the product quality using AI. Name: Smart Ceiling Fan Control and Dimmer Light Switch, Neutral Wire Needed, Treatlife Single Pole Wi-Fi Light Switch Fan Speed Control, Works with Alexa/Google Assistant, Schedule, Remote Control (1PACK) Here is the analysis for the Amazon product reviews: Fakespot detects fake reviews, fake products and unreliable sellers using AI. The “Reset” button recessed below the main button will reset the MCU to: Off, 10% brightness, 10% minimum brightness (which won’t necessarily match Tasmota’s DimmerRange so it could be out-of-sync until corrected), saved favorite 50.5%.This is a Fakespot Reviews Analysis bot.If you triple-click it, the current brightness set point will be stored as the new favorite (overwriting the previous saved value). If you double-click it, the brightness set point is reset to the stored favorite value (or 50.5% if no value has been stored since reset) - note that this won’t turn the switch on or off, just set the brightness with the switch staying on or off. The main button turns the switch on/off if single-clicked.The “-“ and “+” buttons change the current brightness set point (whether the switch is on or off) 7% or 8% at a time, for a total of 14 steps between minimum and 100% (2 steps for each of the 7 LEDs).The functions of the buttons are all handled by the Tuya MCU (a nuvoton M031EC1AE ARM chip in this device), so converting from Tuya/Smart Life to custom firmware doesn’t directly change any of them: “DpId”:4 shows the current dimmer mode (00 is definitely “Mode 1” from the stock Tuya/Smart Life firmware).“DpId”:3 shows the current minimum brightness (also need to convert from HEX to decimal and divide by ten: “DpIdData”:”0000000A” = 1.0%).
#Treatlife smart switch how to
I show how to install the switch and some things to be aware of when you install.Buy.
“DpId”:2 shows the current brightness value (you have to convert it from HEX to decimal and divide by 10 get the percentage: “DpIdData”:”00000182” converts from HEX 182 to decimal 386/10=38.6%. Here's a look at Treatlife's 3-Way Smart Dimmer Switch.
The “DpId”:1 line shows the switch’s on/off status.
The current states are the “DpIdData” entries: To see the current minimum brightness and dimmer mode, enter: BackLog WebLog 4 SerialSend5 55aa0001000000 (to return to default log level after, enter WebLog 2).
To have a correct mapping of percentages, send that command ledtable 0.
Read honest and unbiased product reviews from our users.
If no dimming occurs try changing the dimming mode: Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Single Pole Treatlife Smart Light Switch, Neutral Wire Required, 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi Light Switch, Works with Alexa and Google Home, Schedule, Remote Control, ETL Listed at.
This needs verification, not sure what values are actually used for the “Mode 1”, “Mode 2”, “Mode 3” from the stock Tuya/Smart Life firmware.)
If the bulb flickers at the minimum brightness, try raising the minimum (or changing the dimmer mode if we figure out how to do that: 3 dimmer modes are probably related to TuyaSend4 4, but it just seems to reset to 00 when you check after setting it.
If you want the minimum brightness to be 10%, enter this command: Backlog TuyaSend2 3,100 DimmerRange 100,1000`.
If you want the minimum brightness to be 1%, enter this command: Backlog TuyaSend2 3,10 DimmerRange 10,1000`.
Enter this command to get the dimmer working and the allow the buttons to work if the switch is off: BackLog TuyaMCU 21,2 SetOption20 1 SetOption54 1.
If the heartbeat packed is not returning enter setoption97 1 to change the baud rate. Post Tasmota version 6.6.0.10, additional steps are needed:
#Treatlife smart switch serial
PCB was marked version 2.1Īlso would work for flashing via serial with this setup: There is a report of failure to flash via Tuya-Convert on DS02S purchased in Oct, 2020.
#Treatlife smart switch update
Works for flashing via Tuya-Convert on, even after allowing Smart Life app to update firmware to WiFi Module: 3.1.2 and MCU Module: 3.2.6 (which you should probably do before converting to custom firmware so that the MCU has the latest features). Tuya-Convert might not be possible for this device since the template was added (). WARNING: New Tuya devices have replaced their Wi-Fi module with one incompatible with Tasmota!!!

Crashing and Burning (Plus some good stuff) DIY
So it has been a very long time since I have blogged on this and one of the most prominent reasons for this is that I might have blown up my laptop by putting 24V into the USB port. After the minor heart attack, I was able to find out that it was just the screen not working, so not all bad. Other than that, it has been more stressful than anything. The amount of time which it took just to test one LED strip to make sure it worked with the basic code which I had made. The issues which we started with were that we had a very major lapse of knowledge on how to set up the code to work with the LED strips. The next major issue is when we thought we had done it and sorted everything out perfectly, I blew up my Arduino and laptop. Which put us back a whole day until we could get a new Arduino. On the bright side, we now have sorted out getting the LED strips to work, and I am now working on the basics of the code, which so far is working on 5/6 LED strips. Which is another problem, because I can’t figure out if it is a problem with my code or if it is a problem with the hardware. So, yesterday, we spent a full day looking at the fritzing, and soldering which is having its ups and downs.
Tumblr media
That is our fritzing final piece. Which is even more messy when looking at the actual Arduino. However, we had another few issues when it came to soldering. Going into the studio to do soldering, finding out the mech lab was closed. Finding another solder which wasn’t working so having to go to the North Sure to find a friends soldering iron. When we finally started soldering, it took us one and a half hours to solder, however, the amount of time it took us to get to that point, was 3-4 hours. However, now all we need to focus on is the coding and putting the table together. Which hopefully won’t be too difficult. Looking at our luck however, I doubt that will be the case.
Tumblr media
Finally, I have been trying to find out what it is that makes people go towards lights. Looking at the biology behind it, I can see it is a biological instinct to go towards lights. We are always attracted to light and that is the way it always has been. However, if that was all I had to say on the point, I wouldn’t have started this paragraph. Truth is, I want to see the more conscious side of the argument. I want to know what makes a person consciously decide to go towards light. I have tried to do small social experiments on my friends and ask them why they would chose to sit at a table with a light as opposed to one without. Most of them just pointed out the social constructs that if a table is lit up, it makes it look like that is place where you are supposed to sit. However, when I made a smaller LED blinking on a table, people sat around it. So I finally found what the conscious decision was. Curiosity. Humans are a curious species. An example of this is today, I saw a car under a cloth. I saw the brand but couldn’t see the car. But not being able to see the car made me want to see it even more. I was just so intrigued by why it was covered up and what could be under it that I just had to look. Curiosity. The feeling which makes a person want to investigate something further. Which is what we will try to achieve with our piece. By using the lights to draw attention and sound to keep people there. That is the idea at least. Hope it works.

Been too long
Alright so, here are all the updates.
First, we have our LED strips and power supply. Plan is to solder the power supply to a wall socket input so that we can actually use it ASAP. Next, we have our speaker. Planning on trying to plug that in and with our new hole in our base, we can now put the speaker in there to plug in and play. It is bluetooth so therefore doesn’t require an AUX chord.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plans:
We now need to do the following - Attach LED strips to table top.  We need to get our LED strips measured and cut so that they will fit into the table top. Of course after figuring out how to wire them to the Arduino.
Tumblr media
-Wires We need wires. Lots of wires. Connecting all of the LED strips to the Arduino will be difficult. So, we are going to try our hardest to get these LEDs working in the most efficient way possible. Also planning on doing this as fast as possible. -Reassemble Table Obviously we cant leave the table in the ruin that it’s in now. So we will need put everything together ASAP so we can reassemble the table and have something to show at the end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, there is a personal reflection. So overall I am getting stressed. I have a lot of fears like the LEDs not actually being compatible with the power supply or the speaker not working the way we want it to when it is put into the table. I am very worried about this not working, although I am aware that the final piece isn’t marked as harsh as the thought process and reasoning, this is something I am quite passionate about since I haven’t made something like this ever before.  I am hoping that our plan of having a LED table will work out, and after my weekend, I am getting more positive that our assumption was correct. I went out on the weekend to a party with one of my friends and some people I had never met, when we arrived, the speaker wasn’t working, so people were awkwardly standing around. All I could think was that loud music or lights would draw attention, so I looked at the speaker and offered my help. After 30 minute of the party being awkward, I got the speakers working and within 10 minutes, people had started to dance and talk to strangers. My assumption is that they were wanting to talk, but scared that other people could judge what they said, so waiting for music to mask that, could have been one of the reasons, as well as a feeling that music is needed for new social experiences. I plan on looking more into that, because assumptions aren’t so important without some way of backing it up, which is what I am soon to be looking into.
Until next time, here is what kept me going today.
