Hello Tetra, how are you? I would like to know if you think Leiftan would try to sabotage Erika's relationship with the other routes? (Especially with Lance) Or he would just accept it and give up on losing his soulmate. I admit that I would have liked to see this kind of drama 😪
I would have loved to see this drama too, but althought Leiftan is a scheming liar he would not sabotage Erika’s happiness. Yes, he was behind the memory potion, but at the time he thought she would be happy in Eldarya (and hopefully with him). He would not actively jeopardise her relationship, unless he thought she is mistreated or in danger. So maaaaaybe he would do something, just on Lance’s route, if he thought that he is dangerous for her. Otherwise, he is there waiting like a puppy for her to change her mind and go to him.

I dislike very much how everyone is like 'Daemon, bad, very bad'. (Yes, Leiftan is 'evil' but that's not the point.) Why not ask Lance why he partnered with a murderer or why he became one? No, instead through the story characters keep repeating that daemons/angels were sooo evil for not wanting to die, so everything in this story leads Erika to sacrifice herself because that's what gOod aND pURE aENgeLs dO.
BE UNPURE, BE FILTHY, WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT??? This ideas of pureness makes me so mad, aaaAAAAaHHH.

Note: There is a little change in it. They don't meet at the Central Pavilion, but in the HQ building.
Unusually, the HQ was more bustling that night. He didn’t need to perk up his ears to hear the conversation and the laugh from the Cherry tree. He closed toward the noise with lazy steps and enjoyed the fresh air. He took a deep breath, the scent of cakes and food creeped up in his nose. He could even tell who was there as he slowly separated from each other the smells. However, there was a sweetly intoxicating fragrance which he couldn’t deal with.
Nevra paused, just nearby the Central Pavilion. He watched the crowd silently without moving an inch, his eyes fixed on the statues wrapped in lights. His jaw clenched. It can’t be. He must be imagining from exhaustion. The smell was still there,  preying on his mind, not letting him rest. He slipped away silently, like a shadow. He didn’t want company nor to celebrate now. He walked over the empty market, the pale moon was his only companion and the painfully familiar smell that he obsessively followed all the way to the HQ building. It's madness. Too much sunlight hit his head and now he is out of his mind. Still, he felt the urge to find out the source of fragrance, even if it tears open a thousand painful wounds and memories.
He stepped down on the stairs but stopped in the movement. He watched the graceful figure appear in the dark place. She put on her jacket and freed her waist-length hair. Their gaze met and icy feeling rippled through on him. His heart unintentionally jumped, but he didn’t move. Not even when she desperately moved toward him. Then one more. The girl approached until she was right next to him.
“Hi…”It sounded like a question, not a greeting. Nevra squinted, looking at her from top to bottom and tried to make sure she wasn’t a mirage. That it’s not just a figment of his imagination. He saw her trembling slightly, he heard her heart fast racing. And her expression…The disappointment slowly replaced by despond. She seemed so real. He slowly put the piece together. Probably that’s why the banquet was outside because of her. She was here again. Alive. Nevra licked his dry lips and tried to collect his thoughts and his feelings, which were ready to sweep off his feet.
“Genevieve? Is that you?”
“Yes. I came back from the Crystal. And Leiftan too.”
“That’s good. So that’s why the banquet.” He didn’t say more. He didn’t know what else to say.
“Yes, its because of that” Genevieve replied in a slightly breathless voice. It’s like she might burst into tears at any moment. Still, she pulled herself, like she decided she wasn’t going to cry. “And… How are you?”
“I've been pretty busy recently. They probably said I took Leiftan’s place. And I’m trying to keep my eyes on Chrome. He handles things quite well, but he still needs to learn a lot.” He turned his gaze towards the front door as if anyone came to save him from this situation. “By the way, Have you met him and Karenn?”
“Yes, with everybody. They were very happy to see me.”
He knew his face darkened at the statement. He straightened up and tried to control the bitterness that overwhelmed his heart, driving it away, down to the depths. Where has been forgotten again. However, he couldn’t control his anger that was always there, even if he knew that it wasn't the girl's fault. That she doesn’t deserve this. His voice was sharp in the silent night, the words boiling angrily on his lips.
“Are you implying that I don't show enough emotion?" Genevieve crossed her arms and clamped her lips.
“Nevra, for me it’s like it was only yesterday that I last saw you, that we were in love. I’m here again, after seven years and I try to keep up the pace. I totally understand that you moved on, but this whole thing hit me hard. Again. I feel the same as when I first landed here and I try to stay afloat, but something seems to be pushing me down. So yeah, forgive me if I get the impression you are coming down on me after all this. They said you came to see me every day when I was in the Crystal. Have you visited me in the last couple of weeks?” Genevieve's outburst stunned him for a moment. He looked away and bit his lip. She looked so defeated, when in fact he was the one being defeated.
“I went to see you everyday for a little over a year. Then…I started going less often. I had to move on. I’m so sorry, Genevieve. I wasn’t prepared for this. I’m really, truly sorry, but believe me, I’m glad you are here.” The words burned his tongue. Not only from the bitter truth but also from the confusion raging in his soul. He felt like he was balancing on the edge of a cliff and Genevieve was unconsciously ready to push him down.
“I understand. It caught everybody by surprise.”
“Thank you for being so understanding.” Silence descended upon them. He had no idea what to say to her, so after a long pause he said:
“You should go back to the others. I have a few more things to do.” Lie. He only had to write the report but he felt so heavy that he was strongly inclined to put it off until the next day. He wanted nothing more than to get into his bed, but he knew very well that tonight would be a restless night. And as he watched Genevieve's receding form...so many chains were wrapped around him that he was slowly crushed.

I have no words about the episode right now. But yeah, I edited this bc I felt like it. No Erika or my gardiene because she looked weird and it would've been too much work to edit her as well.
I have a hc about this episode but it's too different from the actual episode since there are a lot of drastic changes. Still, my gardienne plans to save him, alone. She doesn't trust the guard anymore due to the arguments she had with them. Yes, I'm changing routes and I'm kinda feeling bad but my girl and Leif have a better connection and I feel more comfortable him (lol what was I thinking).
At this point, I don't want to play anymore so I'll just make my own storyline with Helene and the LI living happily ever after. I mean, I already have big lore, so adding some more to it won't be that hard.
PS: Leiftan and Alan really vibe together as friends.

Random Eldarya HC
I'm french so if my english is miserable yeah... It's just a list with a bunch of ideas !
If Eldarya had access to the anime, Leiftan would totally watch Evangelion and kin Rei.
Valkyon is warm, like yes he's a dragon, but this is always something nice to think about, i'm in love with him
Miiko would love plushie, teddy bear and shit. She loves it, it remind her the idea of a sweet childhood
Ezarel is scared of big noises.
Nevra would let Karenn plays with his hair, even if he ends up with colorful hairclip.
He also make gay jokes to Ezarel and Valkyon. Ezarel want to kill him, Valkyon just laugh.
Kero is often tired. Why ? He spends all his night reading...
Valkyon and Nevra are flexibles asf but Ezarel and Leiftan are stiff. Like, ofc they fight ect but they can't touch their feet yk.
Karenn and Chrome would listen to K-pop.
Erika have hot hands, people hold her hands because they're just so warm.
Even if Leiftan have a fcking abs window in the game, I think he would really don't like to show his body.
Alajea wants to know everything about Erika's world. Erika says everything Alajea want to know.
Valkyon love spring.
EZAREL WOULD BE CANCELLED ON TWITTER LMAO.
He also have white hairs due of stress
Nevra loves hugs
When Miiko is stressed she touch her tails.
Erika plays hide and seek with Mery ! She loves kids, Nevra often play with them. :)

“Are you sure about this?”
“Yes, I haven’t changed my mind in the last five minutes, Erika.”
They were standing in the living room space of a small house, just outside of the main headquarters.
Moving homes was something that Erika had brought up shortly after they started planning. It was an afterthought, a small suggestion that she had been mulling over for a while.
The walls of the HQ’s rooms weren’t thin, but they definitely wouldn’t hold up against a baby’s wails, particularly when thinking about faelians with sensitive hearing, and as the child grew up, moving away from the HQ rooms was an inevitability.
Nevra agreed with her— and then surprised her by suggesting to help her with it.
Well. Suggesting might be a slight understatement. It was closer to him simply informing her that he intended to help and wouldn’t accept no for an answer.
So that’s how they’re here. Nevra is carefully inspecting one of the rooms (with the wide windows and light yellow curtains she can almost picture a nursery) while she lingers behind, nervously shifting her weight from one foot to another while playing with the sleeves of her oversized sweater. Her feet are already aching, she can feel them swelling inside the boots that she stubbornly decided to wear, and she’s already annoyed due to hunger.
The house seemed fine to her.
She rebuilt her life with way less in the past and Erika was glad enough to have her own kitchen and bathroom, but Nevra was being a little… too attentive.
In normal circumstances, she would’ve kindly asked him to mind his own business and let her handle it, but despite the annoyance, she found it sweet for him to be worried.
Besides, as part of their agreement, Nevra would technically be living with her for a while due to their child. So, it was his business.
(If her heart fluttered at the thought of this being their home, it was no one’s business but Erika’s.)
The person Huang Hua sent along to show them the available homes looked at Erika strangely, with the same expression that she’d usually associate with people who had known of her and not met her.
It was unnerving to be observed so intensely, they weren’t even trying to be discreet about it! It just made her feel uncomfortable and overexposed.
It had only been a couple of days since the big announcement. Erika didn’t want one, but it was a necessary evil.
Overall, it hadn’t been too bad. Huang Hua gathered the HQ residents in the doors corridor and announced the good news. While Erika could feel the tension in the air, no doubt due to the increasingly strange phenomena surrounding Eldarya and Earth, most people were nice enough to be excited for her.
She spent the last few days being congratulated and teased, and trying to ignore the waves of sadness and grief she felt, but knew weren’t her own.
Leiftan was trying his hardest to keep his emotions in check, she could feel the attempts to keep his grief locked away, but some things one can’t simply help.
The emotion sharing was something Erika was still getting used to, being a relatively minor footnote in the absolute chaos that had been the last couple of months but couldn’t help but feel bothered by it.
She tried to shake off that train of thought. She could deal with Leiftan’s mess later.
Now she had a different priority, who was carefully analysing the peeling wallpaper on the house’s walls.
“Aren’t most of the homes similar?” Erika tried to smile, as kindly as she could, to try to sway Nevra. “This one is one of the closest to the HQ and it’s in fantastic shape!”
It wouldn’t even need remodelling or that much furnishing. Just some cleaning and decorating and it would be perfect.
Nevra looked at her like she had just sprouted a second head. The poor faelian murmured  “I’ll leave you two to discuss” before going outside and closing the door behind them.
“I’m tired,” Erika admits. It had been the fifth available, and final, house they’d seen today and none of them had satisfied Nevra. “It’s the last home we can move into on such short notice. Can we just… choose one? They were all great.”
“Do you… Seriously expect so little?”
The half-human stopped and blinked. Nevra’s serious expression morphed into something softer, kinder. His eyes were full of pity.
“What do you mean?”
Erika asks, genuinely. Nevra’s voice is slightly exasperated when he answers.
“Don’t you want a bigger house? Somewhere quieter? A garden? Maybe a little library?”
She snorted before she noticed he was being serious.
By the oracle, imagine if she had been offered a garden when she first arrived. A library and large rooms?
All she got was a room without even a mattress, and she was deemed over dramatic for throwing a fit.
The idea of demanding more right now never even crossed her mind.
Erika had to fight tooth or nail for the right to exist. To retain even a shred of dignity in a world that was hostile to her.
She gave up a lot, too much.
And now, all she needed was somewhere comfortable for her child to live, that was close enough to the HQ that they could summon her quickly in case of emergencies.
She saved the world and all she got was a statue and more responsibilities. This harsh world taught her to expect nothing at all from her efforts.
But still, Nevra stands beside her and expects her to ask for more. Erika doesn’t even know what to say.
(A small, intimate part of her brain screams you. I want you, but she pushes the feeling down.)
“Maybe when this is all behind us.” She says, quietly. Erika moves to stand closer to the window, taking in the view of the other houses in the refuge. “When there isn’t this big, looming threat on the world— When Eldarya is at peace. Then we can move into a nice, big house with a library and a garden.”
“We?”
He asks, and out of the corner of her eye, she can see him getting closer. Is her mind playing tricks on her or does he sound hopeful?
“We.” She confirms, nodding her head as an extra measure. “Unless you don’t want that— which is totally cool, by the way. No pressure.”
It was all wishful thinking, anyway. The idea of living peacefully in Eldarya without the threat of war or a major disaster seemed distant, almost impossible.
But it was nice to think about. A pretty, fleeting fantasy.
“I’d like that.”
Nevra says, after a moment. Erika snaps her head to look at him so quickly that it seems almost cartoonish.
“You do?”
She asks, again, dumbfounded.
“Yes, I do.”
He seems to consider something before saying it, and Erika strains to be patient about it.
It seems like all they do lately is wait for each other, hiding meaning between the lines and hoping that the other understands it.
She’s tired of toeing the line. Tired of the ambiguity, but too scared to ask more of him.
So she waits and hopes he’s getting tired of these games too.
“There’s nothing I want more than for us to live in peace,” Nevra says, standing beside her to look out the window. “You deserve the life that you wish for, Erika. Our child deserves it too. And there’s nothing I’d love more than to be in it.”
He reaches out to touch her face, cupping her cheek with his hand. She leans against it, relishing in the comfort that the contact brought.
She did not cry, not this time.
She felt a little silly for thinking that Nevra only cared for her now because she was carrying his child.
Nevra wouldn’t look at her like this if it wasn’t the case— the way his eyes softened, as if he was looking at something precious, the gentle curve of a smile on his lips, wasn’t something he ever granted to anyone else.
The fondness, the care, and the deep bond they shared, being united not only by the child they had created but by all that they went through beforehand— the battles, the reveals, the sorrow, joy and everything in between. It was far more than a romantic relationship, too sacred of a connection to be defined in words.
They were good people who had been through far too much. Who had the weight of the world thrust upon them at too young of an age, and who still had to carry the burden of the type of power they possessed— Erika wanted to be selfish, just for once, and hope for a happy ending. A happy ending where the world was saved, she was allowed to love and be loved without tragedy, and her baby would live so happily that they wouldn’t know the pain their parents went through.
An ending that she could share with Nevra this time.
Where she wouldn’t have to leave him behind to pick up the pieces in the name of the greater good.
“I’ll be there. In any way you’ll have me.”
He added, and Erika nodded. It wasn’t hard to believe him like this when he seemed so desperate to show her that he was sincere in his words.
“Even if all I want is to live here with you?”
Nevra rolled his eyes, pretending to be annoyed by her request, even if she could plainly see how it wasn’t true.
“If that’s what makes you happy.”
The vampire leaned down to kiss her forehead, the gesture seeming so natural that it didn’t even register as something to be embarrassed about. He turned away to call over the representative outside when Erika reached out to grab one of his hands.
The action was purely impulsive. Just, Erika wishing to stay in that little bubble they’d created for a little while longer, to be able to linger in the happy ending she fantasised about for just a second more.
“Yes?”
He was puzzled by her reaction, and she didn’t know what to say at first, what words would be suitable to explain the flurry of thoughts and emotions that had tormented her from the second she saw him after her awakening. But she couldn’t just say nothing. Erika would never be able to forgive herself if she let him go a second time.
Did the notion of a happy ending even matter in the long run? What’s the use of suffering, of putting all her needs aside for the sake of a nebulous greater good if she was doomed to a tragic ending anyways?
Maybe the ending doesn’t matter. It never did. All endings are tragic in their own bittersweet way, after all.
Life isn’t fair. She can’t hope for a happy ending in exchange for all she has endured, that’s the lesson that her life in eldarya had taught her. All she can hope for is to live happily in the present and to surround herself with love right now so she doesn’t have regrets in the future.
Erika looks up at Nevra, as he waits for her, patiently, expectantly.
“I think I am in love with you.”
The words came easily, and she didn’t feel scared or hesitant. It just felt right. It felt right to look at him at that moment, alone in what would soon be their home and confess that to him.
He seemed surprised for a moment, before quickly regaining his composure and pulling her close, leaning in like he was about to kiss her.
She closes her eyes, expectant before she feels his breath on her neck. His lips were close to her ear.
“You think?” He whispers, and she flushes in embarrassment. Of course, he would tease her for that. “Well, I think I need more certainty than that.”
“I know.” Erika corrects herself  “I never stopped loving you, Nevra.”
That seems to satisfy him because just as she was wondering if she should open her eyes and flee in embarrassment she feels his soft lips against hers, and it feels like coming home.
All the tension around them was finally gone— the last piece of the puzzle finally clicking into place, and all she could feel was relief.
It feels too soon when he stops kissing her, and she’s about to lean in for another one when he hugs her, too tightly, as if she was going to disappear if he loosened his hold.
Erika feels the tears welling up in her eyes. He needed this more than he needed the kiss- he needed the assurance, that she was there and that she loved him and that she wouldn’t disappear again. The thought of it makes her cling to him too.
For a long time, they don’t speak. The only sounds echoing in the empty house being Erika’s sobs as Nevra holds her.
“I love you.” He whispers, quietly into her hair. Those words were only ever meant to her, only hers to hear. “It’s always been you. No one but you.”

Yes, it's a group ilu. But i'm obsessing over Leiftan doing Erika's makeup. He's so devoted he'd probably learn from watching her. Really sweet. 🥹🥹
And I think this is the first time ima say something like this about him, however, Nevra's doing her hair is cute too.

Riiiiight, how do I start?
It's a bittersweet mix, the ending. After years being an ANE h@t3r pointing out plot holes, aka being a bitter old hag, I thought the ending would be worse.
As a daemon, my guess was that I was doomed to be dumped by Leiftan or die. I was pleasantly surprised tho, despite the extreme conveniences of this episode. Should it have been better? yes, of course, but considering the canon plot, even I couldn't come up with an alternative to fix this lost cause without opening countless others plot holes.
That love declaration and those moments with LI at the end were the writers having their last laugh, huh? Damn, those moments should have happened during the season. I simply didn't have the strenght to fight """"""Erika"""""" justification moments anymore. It wasn't the character talking in those moments. And what do we gain? An open ending.
If on the one hand I'm happy this delirium called ANE is over, on the other I'm going to miss the universe, I love the eldaryan world so much. Even with all the company's clear neglect and plot holes, it brought me at least ONE good thing: Tenjin filled the gaps that other four LIs weren't able to, thanks to him Blood on Snow was born and my OC is not alone anymore lol. I played with Leiftan because I still had some affection for the character, but let's face it… playing the daemon route with Leiftan turned out to be exhausting at some point.
I'm not interested in playing New Gen, HSL was the only game of the sort I played before being able to buy other games, all love-and-fantasy vibes. So I guess my time as bee player is over. I'm somewhat optmistic about Eldarya's future, though. I imagine that in a couple of years' time (UL and LL lasted one or two years each, right?) when they need quick and easy resources for some new season of New Gen, they'll bring other LIs back with that same old not-my-fenghuang-fault talk that was able to brainwash even Leiftan. You know what I mean.
We've seen it happen before with MCL. It's only two years away, so...
See you again in two years!

And finally, here are all the redesigned posters from Easter 2023 at Beamuv from Eldarya.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And finally, here are all the redesigned posters from Easter 2023 at Beamuv from Eldarya. In order of what has been redone:
Poster with Lance
Poster with Leiftan
Poster with Mathieu
Poster with Nevra himself.
Well, now a little history and situation for these posters. This game was set by Mathieu, because he was very, very unhappy with his last loss to Erica and the fact that he had to share it with the rest of the guys (Lance, Leiftan) But so that the rules of this game were known to everyone, he called the second couple participating there, Nevra and Alya. During the collection of eggs and these games, the children were with Karen and Chrome, either helping them color other eggs, or looking inside the headquarters for already painted eggs, those that they asked to find in the headquarters itself during the game.
-Erica, dear, I'm not very happy that I lost last year and I want to win back this year. - The brown-haired man said seriously when a couple of vampires arrived at El's hideout, where the gathering was. The rest of the guys nodded seriously, confirming their displeasure.
-But this time, the punishment will be different for everyone. Leiftan said after that, because he hoped to see his cute kitsune Miko with a child, who wrote to him not so long ago and therefore did not know what she was doing now, and last Easter he only dreamed of a family far from him. Lance is not much about this, but he agreed with the lorealet, because he had another girl with whom he would then play in his own way, but Mathieu had every right to Erica, since he met with her. Alya and Nevra looked at the guys a little in bewilderment. Nevra remembered how hard Leiftan felt here after returning - lonely and lost, it is difficult for him to spend holidays without his family. And now he patted him on the shoulder in support. On this, everyone dispersed in search of eggs and coins. --— After searching. I don’t know how the others met this moment, but Nevra, who noticed how Mathieu was buying a bunny suit for Erica, decided to buy it for his wife too, only with a dark corset. Alya did not mind, but this time he himself took the ears of a wolf and they met outside the gate near the forest.
-Well, dear, did you find coins and testicles? - With a slightly obscene smile, the vampire met Alya, who only shrugged her shoulders in a negative sign.
-I hope the kids at headquarters are more fortunate, because they have a big sweet tooth and better trackers than me, right at you, dear. - The vampire answered him and even kissed him on the cheek.
-And I have prepared a surprise for you and I hope you will not refuse me. - Nevra took out a bag and showed Alya the outfit, and took out his wolf ears. -Do you want to play catch-up, dear, mmmrr? - A little intrigued, the girl asked her beloved, trying on a suit. - Last time you were a rabbit, and now you decided to make a cunning top out of me as your prey?
-Yes, we need at least a little rest, otherwise the children with Karen and Chrome are looking for and running around, Erica with the rest of the guys, and I'd better look for my beloved wife. - Nevra wanted to hug Alya, but she was not so simple, she agreed to play with her husband, pushing him a little and running away into the forest. They are both vampires and fast, but Nevra was smarter than Ali, when she tried to hide behind a tree, the guy almost immediately ended up behind her, hugging and growling in her ear.
-Rrrr, my sweet prey, I think I, rrr, caught you. - The vampire wanted to bite her ear, but it was not there, the girl turned sharply in his arms and pushed away, although she was pleased with this tenderness, but she was not going to give up yet.
-But no, dear … - With these words, she ran even deeper from him into the forest, but now emotions took possession of both, as well as interest. Alya loved to obey her beloved and dear, and therefore at one moment, under the shade of the crowns, she knelt before him, making him feel like the main thing in the game, as well as in their family life.
-Awww… Sweetheart… Supple… Beautiful… Bunny… - Only now Nevra did not remain in debt, he accepted Alya as his only one in this life and after such an outburst of hers. The vampire gently ran his finger over her face, lifting her up and looking into her eyes, and then he lifted her up into his arms and whirled her in a small dance that was pleasant and refreshing for both of them. Still, the couple did not get very sexually obsessed, like some, they were quite happy with their lives and the family that the Oracle and this world gave them, so now they were more likely to just play and enjoy the moment they could.
After a short dance, Nevra put Alya on a stump and himself knelt down in front of her, because he had the habits of a prince and did not leave his princess to others. Having gently kissed her leg, he let go of his beloved and then abruptly jumped on the girl, so much so that both rolled down the slope on the grass and the vampire was on top of his beloved, endowing her with a gentle kiss on the lips at the end of the game and caressed, running his hands over her body.
-My favorite and exquisite prey, rrrr… But they did not linger for long, yet it was already evening and it was time to return to headquarters. At the gate they were met by children who shared their results, to which their parents were delighted and even disheveled their hair, as Nevra used to like to do Karen and Ale. This evening and family dinner with the vampire mom was too sweet for everyone. Everyone could snatch a piece of a chocolate egg and drink delicious tea, and eat other dishes prepared by Alya and Maora.

I'm not sure if I understood it right (nor did I check other asks before asking this lol), do you with WITH Chino for an alternative Eldarya fanfic? (even if it's only on the brainstorm level and the rest is on you) Is an ending planned or you'll go with the flow?
Yes the ending is planned, Chino gave me the beginning and the ending (which had to be slightly adapted because it's not a game format with choices unfortunately, so I can't include multiple endings). I developed the journey in between but we discussed everything together, I want every single plot point to be approved by her. If there is something she doesn't agree with or she feels should be different I change it.
I'll give you an example: Chino said that Lance should be controlled by the Guard, and go on missions for them to get some rewards. I expanded on that, thought he could be controlled by a magical object like a collar. She said that she pictured something more "fantasy" like a stone fused in his chest, so I asked her to draw me where it should be, and tell me the colour and the shape. And this is what is included in the story.
This is our process, I have written detailed summaries of every chapter and she is reading and commenting on them, so the story is pretty much all defined and agreed with her. I also constantly bother her for details that aren't in the summary, for example I wanted Lance to give Erika a nickname, so I asked Chino what it should be. I needed the name of the Island where Lance and Valkyon were born, so she came up with it. This latest episode I needed to pick a food that Lance would like (like, we know that Ezarel likes honey, Nevra likes bloody meat etc) so I asked her to decide what it should be (and it was exactly what I had in mind! eheh). I want all information to be canon, I don't care if they aren't in ANE, if they come from her they are canon to me.
And there are also some revelations about some of the characters coming (like Ezarel's situation addressed in chapter 1). These are all part of her original backgrounds for them and never made it into the game because, as I said, the company gave the game to someone else from around episode 22, so lots of questions have been left unanswered. What was Leiftan and Lance's original plan? How did the Blue Sacrifice actually came down? This kind of things.
tldr: I'm a very annoying person who bothers Chino all the time for info and she's kind enough to indulge me.

ANE - Look how they massacred my boys
Let's go for the massacre! Most of the male characters follow the current trend of emasculation: they are either comic relief, or extremely dumb, or angry authoritarians, you name it. But all these categories have something in common: villains in ANE are ALL men.
I have other posts planned, just need to finish translations, but you might notice that most of my points made in these two posts were plot-based. So, again, no need to call me names (and even if you do, I won't change my mind anyway)
First, the emasculated ones:
LEIFTAN: I'm over the fact that Leiftan, who previously talked about leaving, out of nowhere was blackmailed offscreen by the script and stayed, otherwise there would be no way to have interactions with him. But for me, I'd rather he hadn't come back in ANE if he was to become another HH lapdog. And they ended up using as a device in the Earth plot, making the Leifstans lose TWO episodes with him because of it, in a season that had nothing of romance compared to before. Fine, Leiftan wants to "be someone better" and stop being a daemon, but as someone who has been frustrated by not being able to be NEITHER a villain nor a daemon in TO, that was disappointing.
MATHIEU: And yes, I know the idea was to bring in a himbo and have him mature as the game progresses, but gosh… the script didn't help one bit. Eel is so dumb that the only conclusion we come to is that Charles (after all he is sooo evil) considered the faerys so inferior that he didn't even bother to send someone skilled to go look for his daughter, in his mind they would be too dumb to be suspicious of any clue Mat left: like not making an effort to learn alchemy and not getting along with HC, then a big coincidence happens and he's the most likely cause of it, but NO ONE realizes. I thought he pretended to be an idiot and to this day I am sure that was the strategy, but nothing was said about it, I don't think the company even thought about it. HC was the only one who in an indirect way saw that something was wrong, but by force of the script she was forced to keep quiet until she almost died on Earth because of him. Being a simp of Koori and Lance and making me spend maana with useless conversations in the beginning did not help me to keep my interest and I ended up not only changing LI, but agreeing with HC in everything regarding him. I can't believe they took Ezarel out to put this loser in ANE. What is the excuse for this? Renewing the plot because they were afraid to address the adoption issue or something since Ezarel practically adopted the infanticide? Or because it would be too difficult/controversial and they decided to change it? If that's the case, they were rather incoherent, considering how brave they are in terms of non-hetero couples's destinies. Well, it was no use, because Mathieu was just another wasted plot/character. As the saying goes, there's no point in casting pearls before swine.
CHROME: WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO MY LITTLE KING????? Despite being nothing more than a Karenn simp in TO, Chrome had his qualities at the time. Smart, focused, studious, an excellent alchemist, a friend, he was the one who reaches out for Leiftan asking help to avenge his parents. Guys, do you realize he was sharp enough to see through Leif's goodboi facade? Then in ANE Koori has the nerve to say that "he was not fit for the meticulous work that is required of an alchemist," I had no reaction. I must remind you that it was not Chrome who blew up the Alchemy lab in ANE's first episodes the first time we see him, hein :) (and even so she's still described as "EXCELLENT ALCHEMIST". Oh c'mon!). In ANE he has become another himbo, he has no abilities other than to turn into a wolf, thumbs up, not even can he foresee enemy attack and save dumb friends from dangerous creatures in the forest. Because, y'know to exalt Karenn they need to diminish Chrome, whatever means possible. It's never the opposite.
Now Characters who were EXTREMELY DUMBED.
NEVRA: I haven't liked Nevra since TO, his personality didn't appeal to me. In ANE he would be totally indifferent to me… IF NOT for the way he treated Leiftan, demanding that in less than a year he would be 100% recovered and available to the Guard to be treated like a mere hound by everyone. I doubt he did the same thing with Lance… oops, wait, by force of script Lance was in jail for a year and already came out with his mind reformed! And if we draw a parallel, he complains about Erika's behavior who somewhat disapproves him for Nevra not being the way he used to be, almost demanding him to treat her the way he used to, even if you are not on his route.
Erika does to Nevra what Nevra does to Leiftan, but then it's impossible, right? The others MUST give in to his orders, but HE can't give in because "he has changed", "lost friends and/or girlfriend". And if the writing addressed the situation in this direction it could have been really nice, but obviously no, we had none of that. I understand the situation, however it "explains but doesn't justify" it.
But I like the fact that Nevra by the position he occupies, his austere expression doesn't match the "Captains Marvel" of the Guard, since he doesn't need to force any demonstration of power or draw attention to himself by whatever means necessary, he already naturally exudes that aura and so it's much harder to subdue him than Mathieu and Leiftan. Nevra can even oPprESs royalty, who feels so intimidated (that's the feeling I got from the character sprite at the time) in his presence that the character resorts to bad jokes instead of talking to him normally. And if she musters the courage to speak out, it is only because of panic attacks caused by a trip where she was forced to go because company demanded it.
Ah, but let's not forget his authority breakdowns and that's where the character is destroyed. First of all: Ewelein tells Erika that they're short of resources to make healing potions, I assume as Guard leader Nevra must be informed of that as well? Was he informed? I guess not, plot conveniently says nothing about it. If they're short of resources, they won't have more than one potion to protect his skin on Earth, correct? Which means THEY CAN'T take their sweet time on Earth, they need to hurry. But what happens? Nevra decides to assert his authority and force them to eat. NEVER would Nevra expose the Guard members that way. Any justification related to "better eat because the mission is risky, long, dangerous, you will need strength" goes downhill. In the Genkaku mission nobody ate anything before or during the mission, and it must have been at least a day of travel + a whole day investigating that building. In a mission on Earth of course they had to eat before, but NO ONE remembered?! Eating on Earth would cause them to lose time and still take unnecessary risks as it conveniently ended up happening. And from Erika's descriptions, she was so anxious that she wasn't hungry, weren't the other HQ members also anxious at least a little? In other words, Leiftan was kidnapped solelly thanks to Nevra's dumb decision, it's all on him, it's his fault. (it's actually the fault of whoever thought up and developed that plot, but that's okay). Even so, I HIGHLY doubt that Nevra and Lance couldn't stand some hours without food.
Now the Toxic ones :D
TENJIN: Of course, right? lol I won't take too long, but this is probably the second cruelest villain in the game according to the crimes he committed, losing only to Charles. You already know what I think, more and more I am understanding what the "show, don't tell" means, thanks to hive that gives great examples this season. Koori's main characteristic is that she is always joking and we never know when she is telling the truth or not. We only heard her version of the story, and what we heard from his version was very little, so as much as the game forces Erika and her to be best friends, I don't trust her.
Did he really "take power" and nobody said anything? Did he manage to convince everyone? Like, everyone?! We see from the map that Genkaku is continental, he would need to go all over the kingdom trying to convince them and from what we saw of Tenjin, he is so paranoid and tyrannical that he would never leave his castle. Or are you saying that thanks to the magic of the script he controls everyone's mind just like the magnanimous HH does? Because that one, by force of script, controls the minds of everyone there!
Or do you mean that he has spontaneous popular support? If this support is spontaneous it is because the reign of Koori's family was not good then, and hers wouldn't be either. Ok, we saw that he seems to have immeasurable charisma to fool her parents, and even the Councilors to the point of changing the legislation and removing her from power, BUT as far as I remember, coups don't happen by themselves. Again: didn't anyone from the three sectors of kitsune society support her? Because Tenjin tells us that the faerys of Genkaku thought she had been KIDNAPPED by Eel, and he said his soldiers weren't that happy for that. It's been five years (I guess she arrives at the same year as Mathieu, two years after the sacrifice) and you'll tell me that Tenjin haven't sent somebody to retrieve her? If he were that bad he wouldn't respect Eel's sovereignty, they're on bad terms already what difference would make to attack the HQ to take his wife back? None! But we hear nothing about Tenjin attacking Eel, which means he's prudent enough to avoid sending his people to fight a lost war (after all HQ has an ice dragon), therefore avoiding getting his reputation tainted. As an usurper, he would need support to keep his position, otherwise he would have been deposed the first day he declared himself king, a VERY powerful support for that matter huh? Either from the peasants, the military, or the nobility.
And from the looks of it, Koori didn't have the loyalty of any of those three, for we hear NOTHING about resistance in the north, no one respects her enough to fight for her because ur durr Tenjin was too powerful. C'mon guys, are Tenjin and Koori the only seven-tailed kitsune in Genkaku now or what? And even if players blame Tenjin for "mindcontrolling" his people in order to justify Koori's isolation, we hear nothing about Tenjin erasing the kitsunes memories of her in order to manipulate them, we only know that he bruteforced his way into the kingship by killing her parents.
But I'm pretty sure that Canon Tenjin's support didn't come from the military: all the sprites of kitsunes we saw next to Tenjin had only three tails, so it seems that the army in canon doesn't seem to be that strong. And I don't think a powerful but paranoid leader like Tenjin would allow his escort to be composed of such weak kitsunes. Not to mention that we don't hear anything about him exterminating other kitsunes whose number of tails is higher, the script doesn't explain ANY of that to us.
Since in ANE women are saint and perfect, we can only conclude that his support is spontaneous because the script wanted it that way. After all Koori's parents are powerful and smart to rule a kingdom, but at the same time they were so dumb to be fooled by Tenjin. Well, like parents, like daughter huh? Anyway, I said more than I should have, but Genkaku is one of the biggest holes in terms of plot, not bad for a villain who was written only to be a macho regicide, huh?
CHARLES - The cruelest, most cartoonish villain I've ever seen in this game, and he gave me extreme shame. His existence alone is a major plot hole, because in TO when Erika looks at Leiftan she feels something familiar, comforting, a feeling that she described as being a feeling she had for her mother, at the time I thought that her mother was aengel, not the father. Not to mention that she lost contact with her grandmother from her mother side iirc, meaning it confirms that the faery blood came through her mother. And again, TO shows us how fondly she remembered her father, as much as he was stern (as every big company owner is) he had a good heart and one example was that he was very fond of cats. And Erika realizes in ANE that her room was rebuilt, he remembered every detail of her room, no matter how much some minor details were left out. The mother even divorced Charles because he's kept talking about Erika all those years. But then the company wasted this very high potential villain with the cheapest plot that time and the superiors allowed: "we are experimenting on faerys, and I am the head of the organization MUAHUHAUAH". Was he useful for the plot? Yes, but at the very cost of the plot anyway. First case of Literary cannibalism I've ever seen.
COMIC RELIEF:
ORGELZ - He's just like Tenjin, the difference is that Orgelz is a coward, which makes him a satire on villains. They probably wrote Orgelz like this because the fandom was dying to see how handsome Nevra's father was, and after they saw that we were simping for villains, they changed tactics and created an ugly Orgelz, as well as writing that he was not the father, but another usurper who killed Nevra's father and took over. I don't understand this company: they're not afraid of killing and splitting non-hetero couples apart, but apparently they are afraid of how quickly the audience falls in love with the villains they create, no matter if the villains are toxic or a murderer. In terms of plot he doesn't add anything either, as much as people say it served to make Nevra think and talk to Erika (in an attempt at moral ambiguity that didn't make a difference in the end), Tenjin essentially said the same thing as Orgelz, WITH WAY LESS WASTE OF MAANAS, and back then Nevra didn't even bother to think about it, when he could have. It was convenient, just as it was convenient to go to Yaqut because the company owed us a Nevra arc.
THE "WHATEVER" CASES:
KARUTO AND ZIFU - I put the two together because they serve the same role, fatherly support, but nothing beyond that. But for a change, hive doesn't seem to know how to write non-hetero stories without someone ending up dead, betrayed, or becoming an extremist.
JAMON - I have no opinion of Jamon, I think he fits more into comic relief, maybe. He's pretty much "whatever" in my concept. In terms of usefulness in the plot he adds nothing.
LANCE - Lance is another case that I don't think has that much plot relevance if you don't play his route. The only usefulness is that he keeps Erika from having more moments with the routes, because in the rescue moments he is always the one who saves her. And this was being forced more and more because Erika is unable to decide whether she is strong or weak, in the end he was just a plot device to facilitate the scriptwriters' work who would not need to write different scenes with the other three, SACRIFICING THE ALREADY SCARCE TIME we wanted with the routes. To this day I can't come to terms with the first 'opportunity for romance interaction' we could have had: the one on the ship when Erika falls into the sea and the LI could have gone after her. No, instead, I had to endure him and more other moments that I, as a non-Lancer, was not in the least bit interested.
They even tried to imitate Marvel and make Lance the new Thor, put him in as comic relief because he couldn't speak the word electricity. And ok, he appeared at the end to stop Erika from killing Charles. Seihai in her place would have already said something like "fratricides have no moral right to lecture me" and killed Charles anyway, precisely because Seihai is sure that somehow Charles would escape and kill faerys again if he had the chance.
For someone who was so furious before because he was in Eel as boss, Erika should have spoken up sooner. But coincidentally the plot demands that Erika forget and they take so long to talk about Valkyon that his words in ep 18 are worthless at this point, Erika's path, be it aengel or daemon, is already mapped out, so for me his speech was kind of useless.
