Cryin’ O’Brien. A condition that occurs when my heart overflows and leaks out of my eyeballs. It’s hereditary 😉 We’re always packing tissues 😭 This is me, sitting on the dock of the bay, waiting for my boat to take me away, Just sitting on the dock of the bay, dropping teeeeeaaaars 🥲 The next slide is a private video note I made to myself to remember the sweet fullness of my heart in this moment. And the appreciation for all I experienced in the last 2 weeks. I do this sometimes, send my future self messages when I don’t want to forget the magic ✨ I never share my videos, but I’m feeling particularly inspired to be vulnerable these days, so there ya have it. Staring at the volcano, my heart erupted and starting flowing out of my eyeballs. I remember thinking, “My god I love this feeling. Take a picture so you remember this moment.” Why the tears? Appreciation, so SO MUCH appreciation, love, and sadness. Roberto the sweet man who owns the beautiful cabins I was staying in felt like a soul friend. We shared many beautiful conversations and synchronicities. He would say to me, “No. I don’t think you’re from Canada, your soul is definitely latina.” The light in him saw the light in me and vice versa ✨ Amy and her sweet family filled my heart with their love, generosity and kindness 🥰 And the gift of peace and stillness within that I embraced because I really got the message this time, DO less. Let's not take the opportunity we have to heal for granted. There are so many people stuck in hard places who genuinely can't see a way out. Allowing ourselves to heal allows God extra tools He can use to bring light to the darkness others are in. We need to learn to be open and honest regardless of fear. Regardless of how we've been hurt before... I found out the hard way too, but there are genuine people out here who'll do the journey with you through both the ugly and good times/behaviours. PS... Let's also learn to be there for others. People who lash out or push us away do it from a place of hurt, but love conquers all - let's allow God to show us how to love each person around us. PPS... This isn't an excuse to allow people to mistreat you. LET LOVE FLOW 2 Dr. Mike Okonkwo Friday, 14th December 2018 "If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?" 1 John 4:20 (KJV) Yesterday, I started out challenging you to let the love of God in you flow. It is so easy to say "I love you" but beyond the words are the actions. Look at the scripture for today; please read it again and again. God did not say you should love yourself; because He knows that some people may not love themselves. He laid the example for you. The love of God is not love because of; it is love in spite God. God is calling the church to be different. In the world, you have a lot of hypocrisy, but that should not be in the church. In the world, you are constantly watching your back because you don't know what the next person is about to do. But that should not be the case in the church. God expects us to reach out one to another in love. When Jesus came, He walk the earth as a perfect example for us to follow. The Apostle John in our word for today is querying your profession of love for God if you cannot love your neighbour. Don't be a hypocrite that chants the love for God but cannot tolerate his brother or sister. No! The proof of our discipleship is in our love for each other. Jesus said, by this shall men know that you are My disciples when you have love one for another (John 13:35). Today, I am calling you to love. Love the unlovable. Where you cannot seem to love, take it to God in prayer. You remember I challenged you before to take everything to God in prayer. So, take this to God. Be sincere. Ask God for the grace to love and you will see a change in your disposition towards the brother or sister. Love also covers a multitude of sin. Therefore, when love flows, the behaviour you think you cannot tolerate becomes insignificant to you. Today I watched the salt water turn to salt as it dried on my skin, and I smiled because I felt loved in that moment. I let the sand get under my nails and stick to my face, and I closed my eyes because I felt peace in that moment. Went swimming in the ocean while a pack of dolphins cruised by, and I laughed because I felt joy in that moment. Took a nap, played some volleyball, ate some cheese and fruit...and I'm not even on vacation...I'm just spending a sunny Sunday doing what I want in the city that I live in... ☺️ pinch me. Seriously. Letting love flow to me and through me each moment and thanking my lucky stars for every beautiful minute of this day and this life and this journey.
