7. Shoulder kiss: aiko x mamo

@josiesparklelove @letstalklikefangirls Kind of a super-late reply but I hope you like it. XD;;;

Aiko stumbled into the small room above LRN that had unofficially become her place to crash after heists. She wanted nothing more than to fall face-first onto the bed set against the far wall and not wake up for a long, long time, but that hope died the moment she saw Mamoru sprawled on it. 

He got up when she opened the door, crossing over to her faster than she’d ever seen him move. The first words out of his mouth were, “You’re hurt. I knew it. I shouldn’ta let you go on that damn mission by yourself.”

“We’ve been over this. I wasn’t alone, I was with the guys,” Aiko snapped, voice flat and hoarse.

“Yeah, an’ look how that worked out!”

She didn’t have the patience--or energy--to deal with him right now. “Can we fight about this later? If you’re not going to help patch me up at least, just...”

She leaned against the wall, gingerly touching her shoulder. It throbbed with a dull ache that extended to her collarbone.

Mamoru frowned, pinching the bridge of his nose briefly. “...Sorry. I’ll do it.”

She nodded shortly, going to sit on the bed--but staggered after only a few steps. The adrenaline that had helped her outrun those thugs at the crime lord’s mansion she’d raided with Kenshi and Riki was fast fading away. Mamoru ended up half-supporting her as she finished limping to the bed, wincing as pain shot through her battered body. Then he leaned down, looking over her more obvious injuries with surprising focus.

“My arm’s kind of killing me, and I need it for work, so if you could do that first…” She mumbled.

He tended to the ugly scrape with the help of the first aid kit she kept in the tiny adjacent bathroom. Aiko gritted her teeth, trying not to let on how exhaustion and stress only amplified the pain he unintentionally caused by cleaning and dressing the wound.

Next he turned to her shoulder, but after looking it over he just shook his head. “Ain’t anything I can do ‘bout this one, sweetheart.”

She smiled at him faintly. “Well, thanks for doing my arm, at least. I don’t think this is anything to worry about. I just don’t want to move it too much for a while.”

“Wait... Just thought of one more thing I can do.”

He dropped a feather-light kiss on the bruised area, at the junction of her neck and shoulder. When he pulled back, he stroked some hair away from her face. “Sorry it ain’t much.”

“No, it’s fine.” Her smile grew. “Just what the doctor ordered.”

She managed to lie down by herself, but reached up to touch his cheek just before he turned off the bedside lamp. “Goodnight,” she whispered, eyelids already dragging themselves closed.

She barely felt the scraggly hairs of his beard as he gave her one last kiss on her forehead. “Night, sweetheart.”

1. What kind of food can’t you stand?: I hate onions, peppers, and tomatoes. I think it’s half and half a taste and texture thing.

2. If you could choose one minor inconvenience to never have to deal with again, what would you pick?: Slow/lagging internet, I’m pretty easy going but having my internet be extra slow always pisses me off.

3. Have you got any useless talents?: I can quote a lot of MST3k and The Simpsons. *shrug*

4. If you could be really really good at one thing, what would it be?: Aside from drawing/painting, I suppose music since I’ve never been very good at it.

5. Name a few people you think are extremely good-looking: Atsushi Sakurai, Liv Tyler, Cody Rhodes, a few other wrestlers, Chris Evans, Mike Colter.

6. What was your favorite way to pass the time as a kid?: Watching TV or reading.

If I had decided not to talk to someone on a certain website (not this one, a shittier one), I wouldn’t have been in an abusive relationship for about 5 years.

13. Are there any fictional characters you find especially relatable?: I’ve found different characters relatable at different points in my life, right now though none come to mind.

14. If you drink, what kind of drunk are you? Alternatively, what sort of person are you at parties?: I feel like I’m kind of obnoxious when I’m drunk but I’ve been told I’m fun to be around. At parties, unless I know most of the people there I’m very shy and quiet.

15. Do you fall in love easily? Or does it usually take a long time for you to trust someone?: Not really, it usually takes some time for me to warm up to people.

16. Would you rather have one close friend or 100 casual friends?: One close friend.

17. Do you consider yourself to be more of a slob or a neat-freak?: I try to keep things clean but depression makes that hard sometimes.

Hi, I was hoping you could give me a little sewing advice. I was using fleece to make one of your patterns, as recommended, but it seems like my machine can't handle two layers of fleece. The needle keeps jamming up. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if this can be fixed by switching needles or something, or if I am just out of luck.

It could be a problem with the needle. I personally just use a standard needle, but in general the thicker the fabric, the bigger the needle size you’‘ll want. It could also simply be your machine. Some machines simply can’t handle thick fabrics. You can try using the hand wheel to sort of slowly manually go over thick areas.

I felt that you would appreciate that secretary birds are my top pick for genetically engineering a wyvern from an existing species. So you're like halfway to being a dragon.

My personal choice would be the Lammergeier since they already look like dragons (with the added bonus of adorable feathery pants) plus they’re badasses that eat whole bones and decorate themselves with rust. But the secretary bird with its regal crest and elegant frame that it uses to chase and beat its prey to death is also pretty cool.

One evening, well, it would technically be the next morning Mamoru stumbled out of bed. He glanced at a nearby clock through his one open eye. The other still hadn’t quite decided to wake up as he yawned. He had awoken to an empty bed, which made the already grumpy bear even grumpier since Aiko hadn’t made it back yet. He knew she was out on a mission with her friends. 

The Black Foxes took up too much of her time he inwardly thought. He’d rather she was safe waiting for him at home, but well if he told her that he’d probably get a good earful of her wanting to be part of the team or her grandfather’s art. Well, it wasn’t like he could say much - let alone being a cop and his side work with the auction. He sighed out loud as he passed through the living room towards the kitchen so he could get a glass of water. 

But as he crossed the room he stopped as he spied Aiko’s bag laying haphazardly against the back of the couch. With a quirk of his head he changed his direction and saw the owner of the bag curled up on the couch still in her mission attire. 

He smiled to himself knowing that she probably passed out after the mission and didn’t want to come into the bedroom to wake him. He quietly stepped over to the couch and leaned down. He carefully scooped the woman into his arms and began walking back towards the bedroom - any beverage he had originally desired long forgotten. 

As he crossed the threshold of the bedroom he leaned down and kissed her lips unable to resist since they were right there in front of him. Eventually he felt her push back and she blink her eyes a few times as he came into focus. 

“Hmm?” She attempted to ask but was stifled by another kiss. 

“Sleep now. We can talk all ya want in the mornin’.” He said as he gently placed her into the bed and crawled in behind her pulling the blankets over their bodies. Aiko quickly snuggled as close as she could towards him and he wrapped his arms around her - happy to have her back where she belongs.

Bidders as teachers is great though. Eisuke is the principal or chairman or something who's rumored to take dubious donations to fund the school, Ota is of course an art teacher, Baba teaches like 3 different foreign languages, Mamoru is the lazy history teacher who just tells everyone to read the book and then naps through class. (And you said not Soryu but I can't help picturing him as the PE teacher everyone is afraid of)

*snorts* Oh Mamo, you delightful man (it was actually suggested to me that he be a kindergarten teacher and make everyone take naps)

It’s August 21: Fanfic Writer Appreciation Day!

I saw a post about this and forgot about it until I saw another post about it (thanks @jarebear20!), so here we go!

@spyoflove: Always not just an inspiration, but a motivation to me to write! I love her writing style and characterizations, and her fics can make me laugh or cry or go “OOHH” in turn. Her fics are very fun to read, and she’s been so supportive of my own writing endeavors. 

@letstalklikefangirls: Another fic writing inspiration, and also a great RP-partner-in-crime! I love her Mamoru/Aiko fics so much? I also have fun plotting AUs with her and coming up with many OC headcanons for said AUs.

@josiesparklelove: AUs, AUs everywhere! My self-insert OCs are 110% more awesome when Josie throws her own into the mix. :D Her replies to prompts are always fun too whether they’re actual fic replies or “Leah there’s a very specific unpleasant place you’re going for this”.

@autorhythmicity: Ummm Leigh, how do you even write these super lovely poetic fics that make me feel things?? I swear my own writing gets more beautifully evocative too after I read anything of Leigh’s. It’s like her own special skill buff.

@caughtupinmyownhead: We’ve spent many pleasant hours squeeing over her many OCs (and vice versa lol). It’s been fun seeing how her various storylines and OC families have developed over time, and it’s always a treat when I get to read more about them. :D

@bukuria: Another RP-partner in crime, and my ever-worthy angst adversary. Screaming at each other in chats is always a trip (”WHY DID YOU DO THAT TO THIS CHARACTER”), and we unite in our quest to make characters cry. We’re kind of terrible to our OCs that way, but hey, it’s for... character development. Yeah.

I am 100% certain I’ve forgotten other fic writers I love and appreciate, and for that I’m sorry. ;3; But honestly, y’all are bringing fellow fans much joy via more of the characters we love through your stories, so thank you! <333
