Being Aware of Harmful Thoughts. Noticing a harmful thought before it gathers momentum toward action is a great benefit or awareness. It is easy to intervene when you encounter danger at the thought level. You can think absolutely anything you want. You will think plenty of things that you don’t want or would never do. If you recoil from the thoughts they could keep coming back. If you notice and compassionately engage with the thought, using your compassion and wisdom to deflate it or disarm it, then you can let it go safely. — zenmister

This morning, I asked the cards "How do I let go of the emotions I've been holding onto?" I drew the Queen of Swords from The Luna Tarot. 🗡 I've been dealing a lot with disappointment and sadness. I know that none of these emotions were caused by me, but I still feel these emotions. It's like there is a wall around me and I'm trying to see my way through the barrier. 🗡 I need to cut these emotions away, they aren't doing me any good and I can't heal amidst a cloud of sadness. I need to approach these emotions in a different way by changing the way I think. This Queen knows herself completely and she also knows those emotions for what they are. She can see into them. 🗡 With her Sword, she cuts away at the emotions she no longer needs. She studies then before she lets them go. Let's take right now, for example. If you stop and look at this moment, what do you see in it? Without preconceptions or judgments, what does this moment hold? For a short while, it is easy to come back to the present and let our unnecessary thoughts go. It takes a bit more effort to be like that all the time. It's probably not even possible to be like that all the time, we are humans after all. But we can always practice catching ourselves when our minds wander and focus our attention on what is real in the present moment.
