my yachi doc is actually the one i've discussed with you before. it's a wip that's at exactly 400 words right now, but it's meant to explore yachi's relationship with her mother (mommy issues galore), her gender + sexuality, and her neurodivergence

i was having a lot of yachi thoughts a while back because. god she's just like me fr. so i started writing this.

i've been looking at your face (it's dangerous) is actually one of my levtsukki fic wips. it's my rom com parody.

post-canon (with some adjustments), tsukishima breaks up with suna over the phone. desperate to avoid his friends' concern, tsukki takes the first opportunity to escape: asking to go stay with lev where he's living outside of japan. using his extensive training (rom coms he's watched with alisa), lev is determined to help tsukki get over his ex by leading tsukki through a series of (poorly executed) rom com cures to solve his post-breakup woes. and just maybe, over the course of a summer, they get to fall in love too.

6. What is their favorite feature of their partner’s?:

for tsukki (not that he'd ever say it out loud) i think it'd be lev's face!! particularly his eyes. lev is super expressive about EVERYTHING and tsukki really likes just watching him when they're out bc lev's got this way of lighting up when he's excited and happy. also this means he makes the funniest reactions when pranked LMAO.

for lev i think it'd be tsukki's hands, especially since tsukki has a habit of fidgeting with them without realizing it. lev just thinks it's a really cute habit (and it's also a tell when tsukki is nervous about something, which is super helpful) and also LOVES holding tsukki's hands. plus, knuckle/palm/back-of-the-hand kisses!! given for good luck before matches when lev can, whether it's post-timeskip sendai frogs or back when they're still in high school

18. Who leaves little notes in the other one's lunch? (Bonus: what does it usually say?):

i think they both do, but it started out as a joke/on accident. lev put one in tsukki's lunch bc a coworker told him this stupid cheesy pick-up line he thought tsukki would like (i actually did google museum-related pickup lines for this but they were all terrible so i shall spare you the details) and it made tsukki snort through his bottle of green tea when he opened it during his break. the next day lev gets a note in HIS lunch saying 'you are such a dorkasaurus. i love you' plus a lil doodle of a dino with lev's face on it and they haven't stopped since. most of the time it's silly and goofy and some of the time it's honest and vulnerable (especially if they know the other had a rough day) but it's their little thing that makes them happy!!

(every single note gets saved btw. they keep it hidden from each other until tsukki finds lev's recycled cookie tin full of them and then shows lev he keeps his in a jar on his desk)

I think levtsukki is so cute. Lev grows on Tsukishima over time. I think I saw a headcanon once that was like them as third years hugging and the new first years being so surprised Tsukishima let someone touch him and reciprocated. Very good very good.

After much deliberation, I have decided on the final ships for the bracket. I'm sorry to anyone whose ship didn't get in, it was really hard to decide! I considered doing a bigger bracket but for the sake of my own sanity, I'm leaving it at 32.

I did a poll on how to long to run the polls for the other and majority said a week. However, I've given it some more thought and for the first few rounds, I'm only going to run them for 1 day. Semifinals and finals will run for a week.

I'm going to repeat what I said in the intro post: Campaigning is absolutely fine and encouraged, just please be respectful and kind to each other. Cool? Cool.

tsukki is one of, like, four people who can decode lev's texting bc lev uses way too many exclamation marks and stickers and emojis instead of like. actual WORDS. like if lev texts you that he wants to go eat he'll spam a bunch of food emojis and sad kaomojis and then "let's go!" and you're left scratching your head over wtf all that was

lots of hoodie swapping. their hoodies are a perfect fit for each other. this works great in an LDR when they're missing each other and tsukki sends one to tokyo and lev sends one to miyagi. this also means ppl do double takes at school when they see tsukki wearing a ridiculous cheesy hoodie with the ":3" kitty face print in pastels

lev convinces tsukki to watch the entirety of cardcaptor sakura with him in exchange for lev reading a series of tsukki's choosing

somehow they get together without ANYONE finding out (probably thanks to the distance) and it stays that way for approximately a WEEK before lev spills it bc he wanted to ask yaku for relationship advice

yaku: "why would you even ask me??? i've never BEEN in a relationship" lev, turning incredulous eyes on kuroo: "you're not serious - "

no bc lev and kuroyaku is that incorrect quote that goes like

kuroo: "this is enough. i want to break up!" yaku: "we're not dating, kuroo." kuroo: "we're not?" lev, on the verge of tears: "you're NOT?"

when lev goes around the city he always snaps pics of bookstores he finds that he thinks tsukki will like and sends them to him. if the bookstore has cool cheap bookmarks, he'll also buy one to mail to tsukki

tsukki won't admit it but he gets concerned when lev doesn't text him good night with one of his silly kaomoji faces, because he knows it's out of character for lev

tsukki likes sending lev fun food pics bc he knows lev will want to try it even tho they're like five hours apart and lev groans about it all the time but tsukki always promises him "we'll try it when you come visit, so don't worry"

during training camps they'll always wander off together in their free time and nobody knows where they go. the others are only concerned because they feel like they shouldn't be able to lose two giant lampposts that easily

SPEAKING OF TRAINING CAMPS

in their third year there's this little shit nekoma first year who REALLY looks up to lev and is like. super surprised to find out that lev is dating tsukki and is DETERMINED to get along with tsukki in order to impress lev

but that just means this little shit first year is following tsukki around and clinging to him so lev thinks that this first year is developing a crush on tsukki while tsukki, on the other hand, thinks this first year is trying to declare a rivalry with him bc all he ever does is talk about how amazing lev is

it's really fucking funny to watch which is EXACTLY what hinata, kageyama, inuoka, teshiro, shibayama, and yachi are doing on the sidelines

(they step in, tho, when tsukki and lev keep missing quality time with each other bc of the first year's interference and it's making the both of them very grumpy)

The first time they kiss, Lev is bumbling with excitement and happiness and it’s reflected when their lips meet. It’s all clumsiness and Lev’s overeager tongue trying to assert dominance which ends up in too much saliva and clashing teeth. While Tsukishima is fine with Lev putting in effort, he doesn’t appreciate the ferocity of it all, especially when neither of them had much idea on how to go about with their whole relationship thing.

“Lev— Stop. I said we have to go slow, and that includes kissing.” Tsukishima finally hisses out when he shoves Lev’s shoulder to get him off. The pathetic whine that leaves Lev’s lips is ignored and the expression that flickers across his face is almost tragically heart-breaking if not for the fact that Tsukishima had seen it far too many times for it to have any effect on him.

“… Sorry, Tsukishima… I just really missed you!” It’s not quite as awkward when they sit shoulder to shoulder after their mashing of lips but more of a sullen mood that radiates from Lev’s entire being and it drags on till Tsukishima decides to set things right.

Tsukishima cups a hand on Lev’s cheek to turn his head to face him. “Don’t be such a baby, Lev. Come here.” And Tsukishima says nothing more before he leans in for their lips to brush against each other, barely touching as their warm breaths mingle for just a moment before their lips are completely sealed against each other.

He knows Lev is startled by his initiative, and he knows how stunned he is from the way Lev freezes in his position, the thin line of his lips tightly drawn with tension that stretches all the way down to where his hands are balled into fists and stiffly placed in his lap.

Tsukishima starts with slow pecks as he gradually tilts his head just slightly such that their lips are perfectly slotted together, like matching pieces of a puzzle that could unlock the secrets of the world, of their hearts. The shaky exhale from Tsukishima’s nose and the brief tremble in his hands eases Lev of the fact that Tsukishima is just as hesitant and inexperienced as he is and there is a warmth that bleeds and spread across their skin, one that evaporates any remains of the tension that lingered.

Lev finds himself much calmer than he ever was and despite his impatience, he lets Tsukishima go at his own pace, feeling his tongue peek past drying lips to slide across the seam of Lev’s own, slowly coaxing past them.

The difference between Lev’s first try and this was a far cry. The kiss that they were exchanging now felt so much more meaningful, sweeter; so much more intimate, and incredibly addictive to the point Lev never wanted to part. As he brings a hand up to curl his fingers round the nape of Tsukishima’s neck, Lev tugs him closer to deepen the kiss with an appreciative hum that comes out almost like a low purr of a cat.

Their tongues flit against each other, experimenting with the exploration of each other’s mouths, awkward and unsure as they disconnect from each other momentarily before resuming. Lev’s enthusiasm returned though his fervour is much more controlled through the little things Tsukishima does. From the smoothing of his thumb over Lev’s sharp jawline, to the hitch in Tsukishima’s breath that draws out a soft moan, and to the abrupt squeeze of Lev’s forearm.

It is not till Tsukishima slowly pulls away minutes later that Lev realises how crazily fast his heart is beating, the glimmering emerald of his eyes boring straight into Tsukishima’s amber hues, pupils dilated from the intensity of their kiss.

“That was… It was…” Lev has to take a moment to mentally skim through the list of adjectives he knows, his line of thought constantly distracted by Tsukishima’s flushed cheeks and half-lidded eyes, a brow raised elegantly as he waits. The silence is sliced through with a yell of “Amazing!” and Lev grins, its effect so contagious that a smile tugs at the corner of Tsukishima’s lips.

“Can we do it again? F-For practice, yeah?” Lev’s voice is much more mellowed, anticipating even, as he carefully watches for Tsukishima’s reaction, perking up when he receives an almost bashful nod that Kenma had once mentioned to him as ‘tsundere’ behaviour.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

3. What fandoms do you write for?

i've posted my work for haikyuu!! and genshin, but i also write for mdzs/cql and honestly. whatever fandom gets my attention. (i have an inuyasha wip im working on, and some orv stuff too)

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

i actually only have 4 works but:

as far as i know, i've responded to every comment i've received !!! i love engaging with my readers. it's also easier since i don't have any really popular fics.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

i don't tend to write unhappy endings and i also only have 4 fics posted. but to touch the sun might have the angstiest ending in the sense that tooru's issues still aren't resolved by the end of the fic. my snf au (current wip) ends on a bittersweet note on account of the mcd inherent to the premise.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

my happiest ending so far is probably the world is simplified for kings, since the brazil fling get to have a nice time as they fall in love with volleyball. i will die facing the sun also has an optimistic ending, but it isn't guaranteed that oikawa will win at the olympics.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

i'm not well known enough for that LOL

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

i haven't yet but it's in the cards !!!

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

i don't write crossovers for the most part. i write fusions/AUs and those can get pretty wild. the craziest is probably my wolf's rain au. i don't think i'll ever write a crossover but i wouldn't count it out!! i've read some good ones. maybe i can be convinced.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

not that i know of. i don't think any of my writing has enough traction for that.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

nope but maybe ill translate some of my own work. and i'm open to it if anyone offers.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

none currently posted!!! but i do have a project i'm working on with a friend.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

all-time favorite is really hard bc ranking the strength of my hyperfixations against each other is just cruel. my all-time favorites (plural) are probably haikaveh, iwaoi, and levtsukki.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

ideally. follow the tide is not one of these. i have a lot planned out that i just haven't written or posted. the one that i probably will never finish is living tomorrow. it's an iwaoi relationship study that i really, really want to write but have lost my connection with. i need to find my thoughts on them again and recalibrate and rewrite my current draft if i'm ever going to finish it. but maybe i will!!

16. What are your writing strengths?

i'm not sure. i think i have a remarkable ability to commit to the bit with weird fusions and au's but i haven't really posted those. no matter how silly the idea, i can usually get pretty invested (like my wolf's rain au writing and fanart), and that doesn't really depend on how interested other people are in it. support is nice but not always necessary.

one of my main goals in writing is to get in a character's headspace. i'm a big fan of immersion and understanding who they are and how they think. i try to capture that in writing while adding lots of small personal details to help flesh out the character's life. based on some of the comments i've gotten, i haven't completely failed.

of course, if anyone has any ideas on what my writing strengths are, they're free to let me know <- blatant fishing for compliments

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

erm. well i have thousands of words in unpublished wips so. probably motivation. poor planning. a lot of it is inexperience. my imagery, repetitiveness, poor dialogue or description. those are all things to work on. if i were to look back at my published works, i'd probably cite a lot of the things i've improved on since then.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

oh no this one's controversial. well, i think that if you're writing dialogue in english (or whatever language the fic is in) and your characters are speaking another language. you have a few choices. if the characters say something in another language but you translate it, i would italicize that (ie. "Thank you," he said in Spanish.) if the characters are saying something in another language and it's written in that, i don't really mind whether it's italicized or not, BUT i think it has to be well executed. sometimes that depends on using the term properly, or also on. how in character it is for that character to do that. as a bilingual person, switching between languages/speaking other languages can get pretty complicated, so it really all depends on execution. i don't think that everything has to be translated in the text at that moment, but i think that everything should be translated eventually. footnotes are a good idea!!!! or it should be revealed later in the text, or in the author's notes. but i don't like it when it's never revealed or translated at all.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

warrior cats on ff.net but we dont talk about that. haikyuu on ao3. i wrote some inuyasha stuff in google docs in between but never finished or posted it.

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

that i've posted? follow the tide. that i'm writing? ack. i really really like the snf au!!! but i like a lot of my other ideas too (daemon au my beloved). im very fond of my mdzs pacific rim au.

2. Big spoon/Little spoon?:

i think it varies from time to time!! sometimes they'll cuddle with shibayama as the big spoon and lev as the little spoon, then they'll fall asleep, and wake up to find themselves switched and vice versa. but usually if lev quietly asks to be the little spoon then shibayama knows he's had a pretty bad day bc that's lev's way of recharging. shibayama likes being the little spoon mostly during winter bc he can steal all of lev's body heat LMAAAO

6. What is their favorite feature of their partner's?:

okay this one isn't strictly aligned with shibayama's canon appearance but i personally think he has a lot of moles on his arms and legs and lev finds it SO cute. he draws lines between them like he's mapping out constellations while they cuddle and it often lulls shibayama to sleep LMAO. it used to make shibayama embarrassed at first but he finds it really soothing now, even if he thought it was odd in the beginning bc he's like "really?? you like them that much??" and lev is like "YES"

for shibayama i think it'd be lev's arms and hands!! lev is definitely a "talks with their whole body" kind of person, so he's always gesturing and flailing and shibayama loves it. as much as lev loves holding hands no matter who his partner is, it's actually rare for it to happen bc lev is always using his hands while he talks LMAAO. shibayama doesn't mind; he has fun just watching lev.

23. who comes up with cheesy pickup lines?:

oh my god LMAAAO the fact that i got this one right after discussing the "notes in the lunch bag" question for levtsukki . . . definitely lev. they're absolute cringe and he always does some silly little thing like a wink or a finger gun or making a heart with his hands after, and shibayama finds it adorable. sometimes shibayama will surprise him by adding one of his own out of nowhere, and it always makes lev flustered bc "SHIBAYAMA!!! YOU CAN'T JUST DROP IT ON ME LIKE YOU HAVE TO WARN ME!!" bc shibayama doesn't play it up like lev he's all serious and sincere about it like he means it and it does terrible things to lev's heart

TBH it’s such a SHAME that no one talks about Levtsukki because the ship potential is stellar (and I’m like. 2 out of the 7 posts that show up for it currently, so.) Shoutout to Sou ( @kimbapisnotsushi ) for helping me in this endeavor.

Thinking about third year Lev and Tsukishima and how the new Karasuno first years don’t know Tsukishima is dating anyone (much less that it’d be Lev), so when they go to their first training camp in Tokyo, they’re very shocked when this beanpole they’d been hearing so much about (their Hinata-senpai never shuts up about how Nekoma has this AWESOME, MASSIVE middle blocker who’s half Russian and -) runs over shouting, ‘TSUKKI!!!!!’

Now, the first years have seen their Tsukishima-senpai sidestep Hinata when the latter ran at him for a hug and then face planted into the wall instead, so it’s crazy when Tsukishima brushes Lev off with a ‘don’t call me that’ but not much else, and then they have to watch as Lev hugs Tsukishima from behind, hooks his chin over Tsukishima’s shoulder, and Tsukishima doesn’t even shrug him off.

Truly unprecedented.

All Lev gets is a, ‘Get off, Lev, you’re sweaty and you smell, and we have another practice match in a bit,’ and yet Tsukishima makes no moves to push him off. Absolutely unreal. The first years internally spontaneously combust.

This is the Lev who Tsukishima groaned at when the other third years brought him up on the bus ride. The Lev they have observed to be absolutely bizarre and hilarious in his own way.

And then their Tsukishima-senpai goes, ‘I can’t believe I’m dating you.”

And it’s over. Truly. They just watch as things fall into place and they blink at their own folly.
