Shh… this is a library! If you have the Tamagotchi On Wonder Garden then you probably adore the two mini games. The library game is one of our favorites, were caretakers must keep track of the books being returned. This means that you will need to add the number of books Otogitchi gives the guard, and then subtract the number of books returned. It sounds a bit easier than it is, but its truly one of our favorite games.

This forum is a great resource for gamers. Includes tips, tactics, role-specific spaces, and forums for various class identifications. Perusing these forums would be helpful to any player of D&D.

This website contains a collection of images from the various editions of the Monster Manual and the Fiend Folio. These images are all in color and can be clicked to enlarge. A great place for the beginning player to get context for their campaign.

An unaffiliated lover of Dungeons and Dragons, R.J. Thompson, uploaded these advertisements from magazines to his blog. Remembering how old the game is and how advertising worked in the past few decades is interesting, and we thought viewers would appreciate these “vintage” ads.

60 Minutes did a special on Dungeons and Dragons in 1985—insinuating that the game was responsible for suicides and summoning actual demons. Some of this footage was uploaded to Archive.org and can be viewed below.

OrcPub

OrcPub is an amazing resource for the novice player or the seasoned professional alike. Below is a screenshot from the landing page, with all 14 tools available. Most useful to the absolute beginner is “DnD 5e Character Builder for Newbs”  —this tool allows you to build your character from scratch and guides you through the process.

According to Jordan J. Ballor, the widespread availability of many of these sources in digital form is a relatively novel phenomenon. A game that was popularized in the 1980s would have been culturally different than that same game played in 2018. Many of the resources we will be delving into radically change the possibilities and enjoyment players can get from tabletop games, Dungeons and Dragons in particular.
