Look for the Light

What a week we have ahead of us! October 17 is a power day, because it is the death anniversary of Rachel the Matriarch, who was the embodiment of what we understand or connect with when it comes to nourishing, mothering, taking care of.  It's written that she actually asked to be buried on the road, versus in the cave of the patriarchs and matriarchs, which is in Hebron in Israel. That's because she wanted to be there for all of the people on a spiritual path. Rachel’s Tomb in Bethlehem is where The Kabbalah Centre takes its Red String to be charged with this energy of protection. So it's a powerful day to light a candle and invite that energy of protection of mothering and of nurturing,  that ability that we can awaken within ourselves to take care of, not only ourselves, of course, but others and to be that nurturing, cultivating force in the world around us. 

The entire week is a super powerful week, because we are also influenced by the energy of the portion of Vayera, in which Abraham meets the three angels who come to tell them he's going to have a kid at 99.  So just at the end of last week’s portion, God told Abraham to circumcise himself, and now It's the third day after the circumcision, which is supposedly the most painful day, and he’s no spring chicken. And nonetheless, he is still so hospitable, so kind and so caring, that he has all the doors of his tent open, so that if any traveler walks by, he can be there to greet them and take care of them and offer them his hospitality. So the story goes that he ends up seeing these three guys, he washes their hands and their feet and feeds them.  They then tell him that he's going to have a son in a year. His wife hears this and she of course laughs - It's a very famous story. But what's what's embedded inside this story for us this week, which is going to influence every interaction, all of the energy we experience in these seven days, is the fact that Abraham was always looking for the Light. Where is the goodness here? Where is the positivity? Where is the BLESSON?  A blesson is a blessing AND a lesson. I got that from a friend that I think is fabulous. This is really the lesson for me, and hopefully for all of us this week: to the degree that we are looking for the Light in the world, to that degree will experience it.  And in these times more than ever, this is one of the most important lessons.  You can look outside your door and see only darkness. You can see discord, illness, famine, poverty, fighting, it's a mess, right? But if you also are looking for it, you will see the goodness.  I’m not talking about the silver lining on the cloud storm, but really how much goodness can you recognize in the course of a day?   How much do you see the Lightforce of the Creator at work in your life?  According to Kabbalah, to the degree that you look for it is the degree that you will see it, that you will experience it. 

So this week, the universe is really asking us, especially in the month of Scorpio when all of us can be going to extremes, feeling like it's the end of the world and it's never going to get better. The universe is actually telling us, “If you look for the helpers, if you look for the Light, if you look for the goodness, the miracles, the blessings, the connections, they are there waiting to be discovered.”  And I promise you, even though I shouldn't, if you make that your focus this week, you will experience a completely different reality than most of the world out there today.

If you remember one thing this week, let it be this: in times of darkness there is greater Light!

I am so grateful to spend the moments of my days in such a magical place. Maui is heaven on Earth 💗. Rainbows are birthed and beautiful spectrums of light consciousness are painted across the sky. I am in awe of such rich, raw beauty.
