I've always loved your blog, and I've gotta ask-- what are your feelings about Jeff Lemire writing an X-title with Storm, NC, Old Man Logan, (and Magik and Colossus and teen!Jean)? I was impressed with his work in Animal Man and Trillium, and I'm actually started to feel pretty excited about this team up... age differences seem to eliminate Jean/Logan rehashing, and I'm still flying high on "KURT IS ALIVE" vibes...

Hi! First off, thanks for visiting my blog! I'm not really a highprofile comics blog or anything, and I just started this page so I could contain my posts about comics (which, let's be real, are mostly posts about Storm haha) to one place. So hearing that you love it is really nice, thanks so much! :')

Anyway, I'll be the first to admit that I haven't actually read any of Jeff Lemire's previous work. He hasn't been on my radar of comics to read. That said, I've been reading his interviews about Extraordinary X-Men and it sounds like he's really sincere about his love for this cast of characters! He's also talked about how he's learned how to write ensemble casts since learning what has and hasn't worked on his previous team books... So I'm tentatively hopeful that that will all translate into a great book. Fingers crossed!

As for the team, I'm naturally really excited to have Ororo, (Old Man-) Logan, Kurt, and Piotr in the same team again, with Storm at the helm! That's a really classic team and I'm looking forward to reading about them. I'm a bit sad that we don't get 616 Logan back, but hopefully Old Man Logan will be an alright alternative. ... but please bring 616!Logan back, Marvel. :( And from a shameless shipper's perspective, I just want them to acknowledge that Ororo/Logan was a reality before they inevitably sweep it under the rug..... (sigh.)

Illyana is also absolutely one of my favorite characters, and I'm glad that she's in the book too! There's a lot of issues that she and Piotr haven't tackled yet, so that should be interesting. My only complaint is that her gf Kitty isn't around for her to have shenanigans with. I don't have any particularly strong feelings about Bobby, but he (and Kurt) can be good as a foil for the angstbuckets and the serious business characters on this team.

As for Jeen, I'm on the fence about her! I haven't liked how she's been handled in the books so far, but that's not Lemire's fault and hopefully he can turn her around? (though to be honest I kinda want the teen O5 to go back to their own time period haha. I mean, it's not like they have a shortage of teenaged mutant characters if they really want a teen book....) but! you're right that it'll be a refreshing change of pace to see the Jean and Logan dynamic shifted into a tentative father/daughter thing. I'm honestly 500% over Logan/Jean as a couple. So I really hope they don't try to push that on us. :/
