sorry that isn’t really directly at you because you asked pretty directly and respectfully but like.. it’s just been a thing today.

anyways. i actually kind of answered this last week but to summarize.. no, i haven’t been tested. yes, i know i likely meet the diagnostic criteria and heavily relate to the lived experiences of others with BPD. i also am aware of the complexities and overlaps with other things like CPTSD, autism, dissociative disorders, etc.

#i sought out therapy when i was like 20 being super convinced i had BPD and tried to talk to her about it and she said i was too ‘normal’#and just needed to do yoga and breathe :)#but like i was heavily masking out of reflex #but STILL she was so dismissive #i also clearlyyyy described what i now know to be adhd symptoms to her and she did not even bat an eye or mention it #i was very directly describing executive dysfunction specifically task initiation and trouble changing what my attention is on #and she was like “’your homework is to just do the thing!’#LMAO #i can’t #sorry i could rant about this therapist forever #i also showed definite signs of trauma but she attempted to do CBT with me anyways #and it made me way worse :) :) until i had to stop seeing her bc i was moving away for an internship #ANYWAYS #so yes now i do really want professional help but am overwhelmed AF about actually finding a specialist due to my bad experience #like a trauma informed therapist who is trained in dissociative disorders and won’t dismiss me being autisticis overwhelming to find!! lmao #sorry for the tag rant 🙃
