Camping! Pt.6
Well yesterday was quite the day, so much for your enjoying your ‘leisure’ day out. You ended up soaked to your very bones all because of some jerk/jerks in a speed boat. It wasn’t so much getting soaked that bothered you, it was the fact that boat came so close to hitting you and Ash; that is what made you mad…but that was yesterday. An its not like the day ended badly, when you got dry clothes on and the skeletons practically waiting on you hand and foot to be sure you were ok.
You’d be lying if you didn’t enjoy it but you reminded them that you were fine and all warm again. That an you woke up again with the same skeletons in your tent, cuddled up next to you like little darlings. Well this was your last day of camping, that meant it was ‘your’ day. The past two days were dedicated to the skeletons but now it was your turn an you had only one special thing in mind.
“Human, what exactly do you have planned. We’ve done all the trails you wanted minus the …what was it..Grandfathers duff?” Asked Nox.
“Thats ‘Grandads Bluff’ and trust me when I tell you this activity will be great for everyone. But remember we need to pack up before we head off for our last activity, when we’ve finished it we’ll be going home; everyone got that?”
They all responded with a nod, you felt giddy as you helped them pack up. You had a wonderful surprise waiting for them! Packing didn’t take long at all, you handled most of the kitchen items while Papyrus and Boss dismantled the tents. Poplar helped Russ pack up the van while the others walked around picking up any litter left behind. It didn’t take long to get cleaned up really, in less then thirty minutes dishes were clean, tents dismantled and put away, campsite cleaned up and finally the van packed. Now that was done you could take the boys on the last activity of the day!
“Ok boys its gonna ten to fifteen minute walk to our destination so no whining.” You gave a playful wink and motioned the boys to follow you.
It was kinda funny to see some of their deadpan expressions but you digressed. You lead the way towards a road, sticking close to the shoulder of course. Though there weren’t any cars on this road there were ATV’er’s driving about; but they all were polite an stuck to their own side, time to time waving at you and the skeletons. Most if not all of them were simple ‘drive through rugged terrain’ people or parents taking their kids for rides.
Like you said it didn’t take long before you reached your destination…
“…..A ski lift?” Russ tilted his head.
“Well its not used for skiing now but during the autumn its used as a ‘special tour’ option. You take the lift up the mountain to enjoy the view of the local foliage, there at the top is the local ski resort. We’re taking the long ride up so it’ll take about an hour. By the time we get there it’ll be time for lunch so we’ll stop at their cafe to eat. Then comes the best part!”
You wriggle in your boots, ready to explode with excitement.
“The best part is the tram ride down the mountain, on the way down your served the best local drinks in the area. Non-alcoholic of course, the ride down will take just about the same amount of time as getting up give or take a minute. By the time we get back down the mountain it’ll be time to start heading home, you boys ready?”
They all looked at each other before nodding, when you got to where the chairs picked up the skiers you paused…thats right you had to see who was going with who. You looked and already Nox was arguing about going first…call you impatient but you hopped into a chair an let the boys figure it out for themselves.
You turned your back…and felt the chair sweep you up then it dropped its safety bar down. You squeaked like a little mouse as it lifted you up, you turned back to see the boys were still arguing…you waited at least a minute before shouting.
“HEY! I’M ALREADY ON THE LIFT! GET THE LEAD OUT BOYS!”
You laughed as you watched some of them scramble to get on the lift, Poplar and Ash were already getting on by the time the others heard you calling for them. Now that the boys were on the lift all you had to do….was relax and enjoy the ocean of autumn colors at your feet. This truly was a great idea, you slowly watched the wind blow waves of leaves over the trees. It really did look like water, a sea of cold fire…
A sudden thought hit you….there was a few spots on the mountain where special cameras were set up. They were to take pictures of people on the ski lifts, kinda like the camera’s on amusement park rides! They did this for the skiers as something commemorative or something. Oh this was gonna be fun, you hoped you’d see it so you could take a nice photo, if not something funny to laugh at.
[A beautifully peaceful ride later]
You gingerly slide off the lift chair and walked over to a small waiting area, there were some benches and a small kiosk to get your photo. The photo you got didn’t turn out like you hoped but it was still nice, the pictures was of you looking off to the side. You recalled that moment too, you caught sight of a hawk in the distance.
You decided to wait for the boys, you saw the photo’s drop in the kiosk. Not sure if it was ok or what you decided to look. The first photo of course was of Poplar and Ash, they looked like the spitting image of a happy elderly couple. The next was Stretch and Blue, where on earth did Stretch get the Groucho glasses…heh poor Blue didn’t notice he was given the ‘bunny ear’ treatment. Next was Boss and Red who were mostly enjoying the scenery, then it was a picture of Papyrus yelling at a sleepy Sans. Finally was Nox and Russ who much like Red and Boss were just enjoying the scenery…hehe Russ looked so cute.
You slipped the photos into your pocket and went to greet them, by the time you left the little kiosk Poplar and Ash were just getting off the lift. They greeted you and sat down to wait for the others, one by one the pairs of brothers came off the lift. Once you all regrouped you headed for the resort’s cafe.
“Here it is…” you sighed happily, it didn’t have a name other then ‘cafe’ but it just oozed with charm.
Inside the floors were a deep black mahogany with plush bright red carpets, the tables, chairs and table cloths all matched. What made it so charming was each table had a small fire pit in the center where you could roast marshmallows. But since you did that already you had booked a special treat for the boys…
“Fon…due?” Asked Nox.
“Yes, Fondue is a pot of melted cheese where you dip food items into such as bread, vegetables, meat an other things. Don’t worry I’ll be ordering the vegetarian special, it comes with the local favorites! Come on lets sit, I’m starting to get a little hungry now.”
“Yes lets have lunch!” Agreed Poplar, he seemed just as excited about the fondue.
Everyone gathered at one big round table, the waitress took down orders for drinks. Mostly of coffee’s and coco’s but you chose some tea for yourself. Before long your pot of fondue was delivered and everyone proceeded to dip pieces of bread and vegetables into the melted white substance. It had a slight sharp smell but the herbs were mostly the source of it, the taste…was pure velvet. You could taste the cream and hints of butter, instantly you thought of popcorn from a movie theater the moment you took bite of asparagus dipped in the white concoction.
All the vegetables you got were roasted, including some sweet potato chips and some eggplant. This really was a great place, once you an the boys had enough and paid the bill came the tram.
You walked over to check the schedule.
“The next ride will be leaving at 11:45am guys so we got about forty minutes to enjoy the sights around here. Please pay attention to the time ok guys?”
“Got it!” They said in unison.
You smile and walk away, everyone wandered around the outside admiring the scenery. You gravitate away from the boys and wander a bit towards the railing.
Everything was so quiet…so beautiful…but was interrupted by the sound of loud voices. You look to see four men stumbling towards you, hanging off one another, even from a distance you could smell the booze. You were about to move away but they caught sight of you.
“Hey baby, you alone wanna hang (hic!) out?”
You glared. “No, I’m here with my friends now leave me alone-“ just when you turned to head for the nearby staircase to get away from these jerks one of them grabs your arm.
“Hey aren’t you that bitch thats hanging out with them skeletons? Come on hang out with some real men, we got the goods to please a woman!” Well one of them was half sober enough to recognize you for some reason.
You rip your arm away from him.
“Get away from me you filthy piece of crap!” You stepped back…
“See told you she was a bitch, an I know what we do with bitches!” Before you could do anything one of the drunks raised his foot and kicked you…you stumbled back…and took a hard tumble down the stairs behind you.
It wasn’t many stairs but enough that when you landed…you landed hard. For a moment you laid still, you were still conscious so that was good….slowly you started rising to your knee’s, you put weight on your right foot; no problems there……but the moment you tried to step on your left foot….thats when you went down again.
Your ankle felt as if someone drove a spike into the joint and was twisting it around, you let out a pained scream when you put any weight on it. You winced and looked at your hands…oh your poor hands got bruised up good that was for sure…
“Human? Human where are you?!” You looked up, you saw Nox but thankfully no sign of the drunks.
“D-Down here!” You cried…tears were streaming down your face, the pain was almost too much.
You looked up, Nox was racing down full speed. You got scared thinking he’d fall too…give him some credit he had good balance. He reached you and noticed your disheveled self.
“What happened?!” His hands hovered over you.
You sobbed. “S-some drunk guy kicked me down the st-stairs…my ankle hurts real bad Nox…”
Normally you could tolerate a little pain but this…this wasn’t little, already Nox was checking the rest of you. Your arms, head (noting the slight bruised lip you had), neck, he already saw your hands but was now focusing on your legs. When he was satisfied he checked your ankle, slowly he removed your shoe and examined your ankle. His fingertips ghosted over your ankle, flinching when he touched parts near the joint.
“….Its just bruised thankfully, hang on.” He took out his phone and after a few taps made he put the phone to his cheek….and spoke.
“Russ get Boss to my location, a pack of drunks pushed the human down a flight of stairs, she has a bruised ankle an I need someone strong enough to carry her to the Tram.”
He had just put his phone in his pocket when you heard footsteps, already you saw Boss descending the stairs. He had such a graceful step to him despite practically running down those stairs, Russ wasn’t far behind him.
“Oh god, human…” Russ looked ready to cry, you tried to put on a brave smile but it hurt to smile…
Boss waisted no time gathering you into a princess carry, with almost no effort on his part escorted back up the stairs…where a group of worried skeletons were waiting for you.
[three hours later]
This wasn’t how you wanted your camping to end….sure you got the tram ride back but it wasn’t that special ‘lets have a warm drink while watching the woods slowly go by’ kind of ride. Now you were bundled up in a blanket sitting in your room, you just finished crying when Boss walked in with a mug of ‘golden flower’ tea.
“Thanks Boss…” you whimpered as you took the cup from him.
“Now human don’t be so melodramatic, sure the trip didn’t go completely as planned but we still had fun and we got you healed up.” Said Boss crossing his arms.
“Yeah…..thats true….” The tea was the perfect temperature, you hadn’t realized you had gulped it all down…well you were thirsty. “….You know maybe I should go sit in the living room with….everyone…maybe that’ll make me feel…..better…”
You forgot..’golden flower’ tea practically knocked your butt out, you drank it when you couldn’t get to sleep at night. You swayed a bit still bundled in that thick blanket, was you imagination or did you feel Boss wrapping his arms around you?
Oh he just picked you up….you all bundled in your blanket…you felt like a newborn baby swaddled after birth. Warm, safe and loved….you snuggled against the brooding skeletons chest as he walked you out of your room.
You could hear the others having a conversation but….you didn’t care….you could hear cooing but you didn’t care….instead…your mind drifted back to the camping…
Sleeping in a tent curled up with the skeleton family, sharing s’mores and hot coco…
Your mind drifted into a dream…where all you could think about…was you…
And the loving skeletons who were always…and always would be at your side…
End.

Oh you have an old town? Please tell me more about it.
Ye we get it you've got an old town. Oh it has a wall around it? Tell me more. Bloody old towns. Everyone's bloody got one, their "stari grad". While they're bangin and highly impressive, when every man and his dog and probably his cat too has got one they become less impressive and exciting. He he he. I jest. Well not entirely. The last four towns we've been to have had well preserved, on the whole, old towns so they are becoming less mind blowing, less blood pumping, less breathtaking. Having left y'all at Dubrovnik and the eventful border crossing it was into Montenegro. Yay wool. Its Been pretty lush so far. Lots of beaches and sun, oh yeah and lots of old towns I can't remember if I mentioned that. The only problem is that we went to the biggest, most well preserved, richest and most beautiful old town first, Dubrovnik. Then the prettiest and most authentic second, Kotor and then on to the smaller, yet still nice old towns third and forth, budva and ulcinj. I have lots to cram into this post and only a short bus journey so I'll have to be short and sweet, a little test for me if you will. Let's see how I do. Kotor. Close to the border. In a nice bay. Nestled in the mountains. It was enchanting. The streets of the old town were narrow and windy, very easy to get lost in but as it was so small it was no real issue working your way home. The wall encompasses the city and backs onto the water on one side. With a moat made from the sea around the city wall to the mountain. Well cool, it feels like being back in medieval times or on age of empires as you stand on the barricades overlooking the moat and the ocean with the mountains in the back, surreal. VERY different from ANYTHING I saw in Australia, lol. The walls don't stop at the mountain tho, that would be boring. They also go all the say up to the top of it and back down again to complete the circle. Wow. That must have been a tough one to make. At the pinnacle there's also a citadel. Yeah baybey. I love citadels. Especially when they're on mountains. You can climb up to it too. It gave an immense view. It costs €8 normally, urgh, but luckily our free tour guide (shock we did another free tour) told us about a free way to get to the same spot as we even went back down the paid way and ended up in the middle of the town yay. What a legend, he saved us €16. It was very touristy which was annoying but nothing close to Dubrovnik luckily. Oh yeah and there are tonnes of cats there and even a crazy cat lady who breeds and feeds them lol. The city is literally famous for their cats ahahaha. They're all super lazy, extremely well fed and very used to humans. They have an extremely easy lifestyle, no effort, ample food and all they have to do is put up with photos and being picker up, chillers. Oh yeah one final thing we did was go to perast, a town around the other side of the bay. Very small, right on the water and beautiful. Very magical and pretty. We didn't get to explore much cause it was so hot and we wanted to go to the beach, read beach as concrete patch next to the water. It was a lush day tho, crystal clear water, perfect temperature, lots of shithead, a fee beers and a good tan. Yes bloody please. Ok Kotor done, tick, next. We moved onto budva next another old town, shock and another touristy town, shock. Are you getting the gist of this piece noe? There are maybe three enduring themes: old towns, beach days and tourists. I'll start with the old town. It was pretty, very quaint and boutiquey, although we didn't explore much as it was small and hot, again, with not that much going on that you didn't have to pay for. They were very money grabbing there, much more so than Kotor which had a much nicer old town. City wall walk? €2. Go in the citadel? €4. Panoramic view of the city? God knows how much. So we wandered around and the buggered off. Budva as a whole tho (outside the city walls is very different). The best way to describe it is... Wannabe ibeza/Mallorca, you get me? Thousands of holiday makers. Every piece of beach is covered by a beach bar, umbrellas, people, paragliding. Its too much. Tough to enjoy. Even the nice beaches in the coves behind the old town are ruined because they are just so busy (and hot). There are donner kebab shops everywhere, fair ground rides, souvenir shops, outdoor clubs blaring tunes and guess what? Lots of people. Not overly enjoyable but it was still nice to chill on the beach even with all the people. Oh yeah we also camped there which was nice. Good to see the tent being used and saving us lots of money. K marts finest has treated me very well in fact actually. Oh yeah a funny little story from budva. Alina was getting an Ice cream for 50c. She got it. We gave over five euros and got €4.20 change. I realised 30 seconds later that wed short changed so we returned hoping it hadn't been on purpose. We told the lady. She was very nice but said no thats the right amount. Ok. The sign there says 50c tho so where's the Other 30c? Oh, you have to pay for the cup. 30c. Its the same for the cone. So all ice creams are actually 80c not 50 unless we get them in our hands? Yes. She obviously had hoped we hadn't noticed and never mentioned the price or else we wouldnt have got it as I'm sure people on the past haven't got it previously. Stupid system. Just tell us the bloody price and stop trying to rip us off. We kept the ice cream in the end tho, yolo and all that. Lord. Our final coastal stop. The one we've just left about half an hour ago. I'm writing this quickly woohoo. Very efficient, no rambling. Ulcinj. We were the for just two nights. Its another beach town. Not as bad as budva, but still in a similar, but much less extreme vibe. Nice beaches, nice people and a small old town. The old town was tiny, very little going on. Picturesque yes but we think we saw the majority of it in 15 minutes, so naturally we left to get food. Sorry culture I think we failed you here. However, I will say it had an immense sunset. So clear you could see the sun the while way as it dipped into the sea. We saw each colour and each stage of the sunset in such detail as it coloured the sea and the sky beautifully. Very nice indeed. More than can be said for the bay beach next to the town. The sand was brown. The beach was filthy, rubbish everywhere and we could only imagine super busy during the day. We went in the evening after it rai Ed so it was quiet and almost beautiful as we had the bay, the mountains on one side and the old town on the other on the cliff. Yesterday we went to the beach again, shock. Its a tough life sometimes. This was the best yet tho. We went to long beach. So called cause its very long.... Inventive eh? It then comprised of maybe 50 sub beaches all run by a beach bar and called names such as (get ready for this they're hilarious): miami beach, Florida beach, pearl beach, mohito beach, white beach, copacobana beach and so on, they probs even had Ebola beach and genocide beach somewhere as they ran low on ideas. We skipped these. Well we got the free bus to pearl beach but wanted to get past long beach to ado bajan. An Island beteeen two rivers at the end of long beach. This is an FKK area. A nudist beach. Clothing not optional but prohibited, lol. I've wanted to go to one of these for ages. It was liberating. And the nicest beach day yet, a quiet beach, warm shallow water, sun, it was lush. However, downside my bum (which has never ever seen the sun, probably ever) is noe redder than the spot in the middle of the Japanese flag. It is burnt. Not too painful except when I carried my big rucksack, this rubbed a bit making it quite uncomfortable. However, the experience of naked sunbathing WaS very enjoyable, liberating and refreshing, especially when swimming. I may now never Come home and live in a naked community somewhere on the other side of the world. Clothes are shackles. Anyhow, we're heading to lake shkadar or something. A big lake with hiking, canoeing and fishing I believe. It should be chilled. I'll write next when we head to Kosovo. Peace and love. G.

Most of our time in New York was spent in mid/uptown but this was our final day so we went AWOL (to other nice places). First stop, Brooklyn Bridge.
This day (funnily enough the one we were spending the majority of outside) was absolutely FREEZING but it didn’t put us off – we wrapped up warm and headed out, only to head back in (to the Subway). It was our first time riding it because generally we’re pretty bad at directions and had been too lazy to figure it out. BOY did I regret this once I got on it. Its so ridiculously simple and cheap (in comparison to London’s extortionate prices). We definitely should have used it the whole time. You buy a metro card from a person or a machine (which I still for some reason have in my purse now, a month later) top it up (like a London oyster card) and away you go. I had already downloaded a Subway map app on my phone; I have a tube map on my phone at all times in London even though I live here – its free, tells you the quickest route and updates you if there are any delays/works on the line. Whats not to like?
42ND STREET / TIMES SQUARE / TOURIST CENTRAL
A post shared by Travel Tea Tv (@travelteatv) on Jan 30, 2018 at 7:01am PST
We got to Brooklyn Bridge first thing and it was gorgeous weather. Yes freezing cold but sunny as ever. It was nice being out of the touristy areas – it was Sunday morning and people were out jogging, cycling, walking their dogs. Being in a big city doesn’t always feel particularly homey but at this moment it really did. I could see myself running across Brooklyn Bridge on a Sunday morning (or maybe looking out of my tiny apartment window at other people doing that, while sipping a cup of tea). We meandered across it, took some photos, did some people watching and walked back.
My mum wasn’t that fussed about seeing the Statue of Liberty by boat and I wasn’t either – the cold did not make it appealing in any way, but I did think it would be nice to see her in the flesh one way or another so we got back on the Subway and went round to Battery Park to look at Ol’ Lady Liberty. My mum’s main reaction was how small she looked. In fairness, we were very far away from her.
It was too cold to stand there for long, so we got back on the Subway and went up to Chelsea, where we had brunch booked at ‘Tipsy Parson’, an adorable Southern Inspired place. I nearly got biscuits and gravy but the mac and cheese was calling my name – I didn’t regret it. All the staff were lovely and the decor was superb. We were obviously there early on but the bar looked very well stocked so I’m sure its a good late night hangout too.
We had a beautiful brunch (go there if you can) and then walked down to Chelsea Market (an indoor arts/homeware/food market), where the rest of the world was hiding. It made complete sense for everyone to be there of course but it was a bit of a surprise going from zero people to hundreds in a small space. It was still lovely and we bought lots of different bits and pieces, including my new favourite ring, some awesome New York prints and a rad decorative glass bottle. If its cold its the perfect place to visit, in fact, even if it isn’t cold its great; especially if you’re with people that can’t make their mind up on what they want to eat. There’s so much choice for food it might even be a bit overwhelming. Thankfully we had already eaten so didn’t need to go through the (enjoyable) stress of picking.
I absolutely loved Chelsea and would love to spend more time there if possible, the streets were super peaceful and quiet for a Sunday morning yet still had some life about them with people walking their dogs. It was nice.
Once we had bought all the things we could carry (some might think we shopped ourselves silly yesterday, those people are wrong), I decided I wanted to look for some vintage clothes, so we wandered around some second hand/charity stores and then made our way back up to our hotel on the Subway where we dropped stuff off and then headed back out to our favourite place, the TKTS booth in Times Square. Since we had already bought some tickets from there earlier on in the week, we got to skip the queue and ended up being one of the first 5 people at the desks. We asked for tickets for Kinky Boots and were offered front row orchestra seats at half price (front row stalls). My mum didn’t really understand what they were saying and was hesitant, but I pushed and we got them in the end.
It was only later on when we actually walked into the theatre and continued walking further and further down to the front, that she finally understood just how great these seats were. Actual Jake Shears from the Scissor Sisters was in it and we were so close we could see the hairs on his legs. That’s probably not what I should note as my main take away/ what I would go with if I were asked to write a proper review of it but so far no one has asked me to, so thats the best I’ve got.
No, in truth, the whole thing was absolutely amazing – the singing, the sets, the costumes. I didn’t really know what it was about but I had a blast. The only thing that was a bit strange was hearing Northampton accents while in New York. For that reason (amongst many others), I would love to see it again on the West End in London. But that list is already very long so it might be a while before I get round to it (42nd street is at the top of it, for anyone considering treating me – hint hint, nudge nudge).
And with that, the trip was over.
In my first post about our NY trip, I wrote that it was for 5 days – strictly this isn’t true, as we were away for 6 days but the only thing we accomplished on the final day was getting from A (Our hotel, the Knickerbocker, in New York) to B (The airport, London Gatwick). Suffice to say, we did manage to do that but its not the most exciting thing to read or in fact write about so I’ll keep it short and sweet…
We woke up early, checked out easily and had a lovely journey home. It was only when we got home that we had a problem… The airline lost my mum’s bag. I still feel bad about making jokes that they had lost hers while I was stood there holding mine, watching other people’s go round and round…
Its been over a month now and we still haven’t got the bag yet. So, yeh, thats super fun.
Aside from that (very annoying) hiccup, it was an amazing trip and I had the best time. We saw so much while we were there and I cannot WAIT to go back. Maybe when its a * touch * warmer though…
And that’s it for the New York posts – Booo I hear you say. Yes I know, I’m terribly sorry. It must be a terrible inconvenience to read no more about the ups, downs, trials and tribulations, of two British women travelling around New York. Quite the mental, physical and emotional journey. The best thing since Eat Pray Love, is the most common thing people have said. Alas, that is what happened and I’m not one to make up things to make this blog sound exciting (I’m sure anyone that has read a single post on here knows thats very true).
I would usually like to take time at this point to reflect on my favourite parts on the trip but I enjoyed so much of it, its hard to pick. If I had to say, I’d pick downtown as my favourite area and the movie tour as my favourite activity, but everything we did was great fun and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
What I will point out is that in order to get all this stuff done, a fair amount of planning went into it. For some that’s the last thing they want to do when they go on holiday but it really did make a big difference to us. It takes the stress out of your day because you wake up there, already know what you’re doing and only have to worry about getting there. You can still leave gaps in your schedule to do things on the fly but certain things like the improv comedy, movie tour, NBC tour etc. need to be booked in advance otherwise you don’t get to do them. It only takes two seconds to do it all online from home but it will save you so much headache once you’re there.
  Bye New York ✌️

The DOW will be about the  various beers and stills that I had during our recent trip to Dublin.  We visited many different Pubs and met some pretty awesome people.  The Emerald Isle has so much to offer but the pub culture is truly an Amazing time.  I’ll Give you a run down of the Pubs we visited and the drinks I had there.  Some will have links to see them, and some don’t have websites
Kavanagh’s
This was a place we stopped in a couple of mornings and found that it was a good way to start the day.  Rose the bartender was a nice lady who knew everyone that came into the Pub.  She was also very helpful with places to see and maybe some places not to see.  On back to back mornings we stopped in and the wife got a Jameson and Ginger Ale, and I got a pint of Guinness.  Nothing to fancy or crazy but it was the atmosphere that was great.
L. Mulligan Grocer
Probably our favorite bar, the bartenders were great and chatted with us on different occasions.  My wife’s favorite was Harry “Prince Harry” the English lad working an Irish bar.  There was Gary who we talked to on several occasions.  I would try  a few different drinks at L. Mulligans.  The first was the BOG HOPPER Dirty Chick, followed by Bloody Elles, and a whiskey called Writers Tears.  The last few came of a list of mystery beers.  All were decent drinks and only added to the good times we had there.  Also you have to try the Scotch Eggs, and the Burger, they are excellent.  Needless to say I had a lot of different drinks at this place.
Oscars Cafe and Bar
Located in Smithfield Square this place was a bit more trendy and offered a great spot to stop and grab brunch.   You wouldn’t sit there all day drinking but the indoor and outdoor seating offered a place to relax and enjoy the day.  If you are in to people watching as much as I am this is the place to go to.  The Square is host to a wide variety of people that are walking about.  The food is delicious as well.  The Wife got a veggie burger with chips (French Fries), and got a regular burger with sweet potato chips.  The beer at this place was the Galway Hooker, and Irish Pale Ale.  Usually not my cup of tea but not bad with the burger.  The square was alive with festivities celebrating the Easter Rising, this was to celebrate the Irish rebellion in 1916, so we sat and people watched for a bit before heading out to enjoy the Rest of our day. The best part of the Square is that you never know who you will run into.
Brazen Head – The Oldest Pub in Ireland est. 1198
From the front the pub looks as if it will be tiny, but once you get through the threshold you find some great indoor and outdoor seating areas.  We choose indoor and boy did we choose right.  The history of this bar can be seen all around but one of the cooler things is that the bar had dollar bills from all over the world taped and tacked to the walls, also there were patches from various first responders, law enforcement and military.  Very cool, each bill was someones story and each patch was someones life.  Gary the bartender, (different from the other Gary) was very helpful in giving us some tour suggestions.  The drinks were simple here just Jameson and Ginger Ale.
O’Sheas Merchant
Closer to the action and down the street from Brazen Head O’Shea’s was a lot like L. Mulligans and the food was good.  Here I got a tall glass of Hop House 13, which is a plane lager that is made by Guinness.  This was a good beer that and goes down easy.  Caroline the bartender was friendly like most places, and suggested the fish and chips for the wife.  The fish was great, I myself got a Panini with roast beef and cheese.  Both meals came with plenty of chips also.
The Next few Bars I won’t go to deep into not because we didn’t like them but because we were in full Pub Hopping Mode and didn’t stay that long at any of them.  Just wanted to pop in, grab a beer, and hustle to the next one.
Peadar Kearney’s Pub
Smaller on the inside and is named of the man who wrote the National Anthem for Ireland.
The Temple Bar
Very Trendy bar with a lot of tourists running a muck like most of the bars in the TEMPLE BAR area.  Yes there is an actual Temple Bar that resides in the area of TEMPLE BAR.  This is confusing I know, try being a bit tipsy and trying to figure out if there is an actual temple bar. The bar is big and offers good drinks, not as much hospitality, because it is so busy, there is some live music, and for the most part is a  very fun place, especially if you can get a place to sit and enjoy it.
The Old Storehouse
Great place, my kinda joint good beers, and live music as well.  You get some good ole Irish music in this bar.  I like that I could sit at the bar get a pint turn around and watch the performer.
The Auld Dubliner
A bit smaller than the Old Storehouse, but a lively place with a live artist, and plenty of good times.
Bad Bobs
A packed house much like The Temple Bar, but trendy and a good time.
Tommy O’Gara’s –  Sorry thats all I got.
Vat House Bar
Sorry No Photo .  We will blame this on being tired and Slightly Intoxicated.
I did enjoy the Hop House 13 Though This was the last pub that we tried out.  They had straw hats on the tables that you could wear.  We only stayed for one drink and talked to a bartender whose name was Promise, you can’t make that up, he appeared to be of Persian but was a great guy.
The last two we saved because they aren’t really pubs, yet small pieces of heaven.  The Guinness Storehouse is where you can view Dublin amongst the clouds and the Jameson Distillery Tour is equally amazing.  If you go to Dublin do these tours you will not be disappointed.
