I think the whole "oh we cannot show anyone singing or dancing or call it a musical we must simply call it a ~bold new twist~" irritates me for several different reasons, even if it seems to be working out financially. 1 it's deceptive. I just generally hate deception. and bullshit gotcha twists. 2 musicals are not bold and new and you sound like a fool. 3 I fucking like musicals but I don't really like regular movies anymore and if there is no way to know something is a musical I'm not gonna watch it? which, 1 and 3 in combination especially kinda makes it feel like they don't actually want me to watch it? which like they're finally making their money back so they don't care, but it doesn't exactly feel great for me. like being a musical is some weird dirty secret.

Finished Donna´s section earlier (again) and it got me thinking (again).
In other words: Have this lil Donna rant under the cut because our spooky baby deserves some love and attention too.
Tumblr media
(Yknow, sometimes I forget that Angie isn´t a mere extension of Donna. She is Donna.)
Whereas the other Lords rely on their physical powers to cause damage and destruction, Donna just fucks with your mind.
...I say "just" because I feel like some people truly don´t realize that your mind can become your greatest enemy. Anything physical pales in comparison. And yet-
It seems to me that she´s considered the least threatening of the Lords BECAUSE she doesn´t rely on anything physical. The fact her domain strips you of all your weapons (which is very likely another mind trick) just adds to the whole feeling of "oh? no fighting today? it´s gonna be that easy?"
...
Tumblr media
She drugs you before you even enter her house and uses the memories of your loved ones to taunt you. Remember what she did to her gardener? Instructing him to plant the Mold-infected flowers so she would be able to lure him to her estate with promises of seeing his dead wife again?
Now, I don´t believe Donna´s intentions were actually evil at any moment in time, but that´s exactly the point: She´s mental. Literally. She´s so desperate for people to stay with her that she drugs them into obedience which will ultimately lead to their downfall. It´s the only way to make them stay with her permanently.
That´s a whole different level of fucked up.
Then you enter her house and all that greets you is deafening silence. That alone fucks with you because you expect...something to happen at any moment. Every corner becomes a nightmare to round, every hallway seems to stretch on for eternity. But still-
...Nothing happens.
And yet-
You can´t shake the feeling of hollow eyes watching your every move.
...
Tumblr media
BECAUSE IT IS. 😭
You have long since become a puppet, and Donna´s pulling the strings.
She then proceeds to use nightmarish versions of your loved ones to drive you mad, to the point you can´t distinguish between illusion and reality. Sometimes, those illusions become so powerful that they threaten to swallow you whole - anything to ensure you won´t escape her grasp...
Like the Duke said:
None of her playmates have ever left her house.
She even admits to it before the boss fight:
"Don´t leave...I can´t let you..."
My deranged ass: "I won´t babe I luv u babe whatever u want babe."
.
.
.
But yknow what really melts my brain?
Out of all the antagonists Resi Village features, Donna is probably the most relatable because she embodies all those things you actually need to be wary of in life:
psychological manipulation
deception
drugging
isolation
etc.
If you still believe Donna Beneviento isn´t one to be feared, then sorry to tell you this, but-
Tumblr media
THANKS FOR READING! 🫶
(For the record: Yall are most welcome to have tea parties with Donna. Totally fine. To each their own. But don´t say I didn´t warn ya. I´ll bring the biscuits.)

Please share more of your thoughts on Midsommar, I am curious
hmm, im not REALLY sure how many more thoughts i have
usually when i finish a piece of fiction i try to find some interesting discussion/analysis, unfortunately most things are either so popular that the big guys have moved in and filled the results with garbage or its so unpopular that theres just...nothing. so midsommar is mostly in the former group, and while there are some insightful analyses out there, i feel like everybody focused on the like, indoctrination aspect, which is generally the least interesting to me? getting someone recently traumatized to join a cult isnt *difficult*, yknow? its not some machiavellian brain magic, cult-joining is a well-established failure state of human reasoning. so anyway i guess the stuff im more interested is like *sigh* the "lore"? like, the culture of the hargas is intriguing to me. i think theres more details in the script and the directors cut? maybe ill read them. seems like a pain. hmm. watched this deleted scene, i dont really like how this changes the films.
also, if its not on indoctrination, i feel like analysis often focuses on the relationship with her boyfriend, which really doesnt feel like the core of the movie to me? idk, its not a realtionships thats bad in an interesting way. the cult is interesting, its specificities, its internal logic. i mean, i think its pretty intentionally far-fetched, the whole gathering thing where they send recruiters out to pretend to be normal, its all very...exaggerated. which is interesting! like, how does pelle's psychology works, why isnt he more affected by the outside world, how much does he think of himself as being deceptive.
oh! also, christian sucks, but i think its interesting to consider his perspective at the beginning, like, say you wanna break up with your girlfriend, you have for a long time, and then her whole fucking family dies. what the fuck! what the fuck do you do! you cant break up with her now! how long do you have to wait? like. obv dani's situation is worse but thats a very bad situation! what a nightmare!
oh! im not sure if i saw anyone point out that dani killing (indirectly) christian is a cool bit of classic indoctrination, like, you get somebody to kill for you and then they have the guilt associated with it, so it requires believing theyre good or youre bad, etc, its a whole thing! like with child soldiers, or in sparta, etc. good detail. what a carefully constructed film!
oh, i like how christian and his friends are definitely kind of shitty (why didnt josh tell them about attestupa! what the fuck!) but theyre not like, THAT bad, theyre a reasonable human level of bad. i feel like it would have been really easy for it to get out of control, all silly and exaggerated, but its not! even the harga are *mostly* grounded, theyre not THAT absurd. i mean theyre absurd. but just grounded enough you could sort of believe it, especially because cults really can get crazy.
oh, having the characters be on drugs half the time is a good way to make their passivity and stuff more plausible, like, theyre intentionally kept off kilter, which lets the harga get away with being more bizarre and terrible while them not leaving is still sort of plausible. also it lets you be more surreal and intense with your visual in a diegetic (and so less danger of feelign silly) way, etc
i really like the running detail where they verbally mimic when other people experience intense emotion. idk if this is the intended reading but to me it felt like an intentional blurring of the boundary between the self and the other, like, intense emotion when other people are feeling normal makes you aware that youre yknow, your own separate person, while the people around you screaming along with you makes it seem like youre sort of...mentally connected, it breaks boundaries between people. its good!
okay i had a lot more thoughts than i thought

Kinktober Day 9 - Nipple Clamps
Pairing: Woojin/Chan Word Count: 1.9k Tags: Nipple clamps, angry sex, face fucking, dom!Woojin, sub!Chan, angry woojin Kinktober 2019 Masterlist AO3 Link
(A/N: Normally I try to write aftercare if my fic is a complete scene but this one doesn’t have any bc it didn’t fit so like... Also I’ve written 19 of the prompts so far and this is my favorite one.)
Chan nervously played with his fingers in the passenger seat, he knew he was in for punishment when he got home. To tell the truth, he had been purposefully pushing Woojin’s buttons all night, flirting with random strangers at the bar, dancing with them shamelessly in front of Woojin. The last straw seemed to be when he let a perfect stranger run their hands all over his body, as soon as Woojin saw what was going on he stormed over to Chan and grabbed his wrist, roughly pulling him out of the bar. Now they were almost home, Woojin was silent for the whole ride, his jaw set in anger. He finally spoke when they made it home, “We’re gonna go inside and you’re gonna go straight into the bedroom, I expect you naked and waiting for me, got it?” he said, not even turning to look at Chan who nodded, “Chan you know I expect you to respond.” Woojin warned.
“Y-Yes sir.” Chan said shakily. Upon hearing Chan’s response, Woojin silently got out of the car, Chan scrambling to keep up, not wanting to upset him any more by moving slowly. Woojin unlocked the door to their apartment and stepped inside, immediately heading to the kitchen, allowing time for Chan to do as he was told. Chan walked quickly into the bedroom and closed the door behind him, he stripped himself of his clothes, putting them into the laundry basket so they wouldn’t get in the way. He crawled onto the bed, kneeling in the center and placing his hands on his lap obediently, his dick was already hard but he did his best to ignore it. After what felt like ages, the door opened, Chan fixed his posture, straightening his back to seem and trying to make himself seem as obedient as possible. Woojin entered the room and immediately walked to the closet to pull out their box of toys without so much as a glance at Chan. He brought the box over to the table next to their bed and began to look through it, thinking carefully about each toy before pulling out a delicate chain. Chan flinched internally at the sight of the nipple clamps, knowing that Woojin only brought them out when he was feeling particularly upset at Chan. Woojin placed them on the bed next to Chan and continued searching through the box, he pulled out two more toys and placed them next to the nipple clamps. One was Chan’s least favorite, the cock ring, reserved only for when he was truly acting out, and the other was a small but deceptively powerful vibrating butt plug. The toys on their own Chan knew he could handle, but in combination with each other they were positively deadly.
Finally, Woojin stepped away from the box and walked over to the end of the bed, he gestured for Chan to move closer, “Bring the toys.” he added, his commanding tone sending a shiver down Chan’s spine. Obediently Chan gathered the toys and maneuvered over to the end of the bed, he laid the toys out in front of Woojin and returned to his position on his knees with his hands in his lap right behind them. Woojin reached out and ran his fingers through Chan’s hair, moving his hand to the back of Chan’s head he gripped the base of his hair tightly, pulling Chan’s head back aggressively and causing the boy to gasp at the feeling. “You thought you’d be a slut tonight, huh?” Woojin growled.
“I’m s-sorry, sir.” Chan gasped out.
“If you were really sorry, you wouldn’t have acted that way.” Woojin said angrily, “You wanted to piss me off didn’t you?” Chan only whimpered in response, “Answer me, slut.” Woojin spat out.
“N-no, sir.”
“Then what were you trying to do?”
“I-I just w-wanted your attention.”
“Well you have it, now what?”
“I d-don’t know, sir.”
“Of course you don’t, you’re just a dumb slut aren’t you?” Chan let out a high pitched whine in response, Woojin pulled his head back further, “I asked you a question.”
“Y-yes.”
“Yes what?”
“Yes I’m a d-dumb slut.” Chan whimpered out, Woojin released his hair and reached down to pick up the nipple clamps. He held one end of the chain in one hand and reached out to Chan’s chest with the other, he pinched one of Chan’s nipples between two fingers and pulled gently, attaching a clamp to the nipple before releasing it from between his fingers. Chan hissed at the sensation as Woojin tugged gently on the other end of the chain before reaching out and doing the same to Chan’s other nipple. Woojin hooked his finger around the chain and gave it a good tug, Chan cried out from the pain.
“Is this what you wanted, slut?” Woojin asked, giving the chain another rough tug.
“I-I..” Chan trailed off, distracted by the way Woojin had begun rhythmically tugging at the chain, the pain sending shivers down his spine.
“What’s the matter, slut, are you having second thoughts?” Woojin asked, punctuating his question with another sharp tug on the chain.
“N-no, sir.”
“Good.” Woojin lifted the chain up as high as he could before letting it drop back to Chan’s chest, “Turn around and stick your ass in the air.” Immediately, Chan did as he was told getting on his hands and knees facing away from Woojin before lowering his head to the bed, resting his cheek against the comforter. He looked back at Woojin to see that he had stepped away to grab the bottle of lube from their dresser. He brought it back over to Chan before opening it and drizzling some over his fingers. He closed the lube and tossed it onto the bed, he brought a finger up to Chan’s hole and began to push it in without warning. Chan cried out earning a slap across his ass from Woojin’s clean hand, “You’re lucky I’m prepping you at all, I bet you’d love to take it dry, a little pain like that is nothing for a slut like you.” Chan whimpered and Woojin spanked him again, “I don’t want to hear any more noise from you.” Woojin slowly began pumping his finger in and out of Chan, the toy was thin so he knew Chan didn’t need much prep. He added a second finger slightly earlier than Chan was ready for but this time he held in the noise, “Look at your greedy hole, taking my fingers so well.” Woojin commented, “I wonder how many guys this hole has pleased.” Chan swallowed the whine that he felt building in his throat, “Yknow, normally I don’t give sluts the time of day, I guess I just thought you were better than that.” this time Chan let a little whine slip, earning himself another hit. Woojin pulled his fingers out of Chan and picked up the butt plug with his clean hand, he used the rest of the lube on his fingers to slick up the toy before slowly pressing it into Chan. He fucked it into Chan a couple times before finally letting it settle into place.
“Get off the bed and on your knees in front of me.” Woojin commanded, Chan scrambled to obey, whining as the plug shifted with his movements. Once Chan was in position, Woojin grabbed the cock ring off of the bed and crouched down in front of him, he reached down and slipped it onto Chan’s cock, the boy moaning at the sensation, “Listen to you, one touch and you’re moaning like a whore.” Woojin said before standing up so that Chan was eye level with his crotch. Woojin reached into his pocket and pulled out the remote for the butt plug, immediately flipping it on to the highest setting and putting the remote back in his pocket, causing Chan to jolt and cry out. The vibrations wracking his body as Woojin reached down to unbutton his pants, he pulled them down just far enough to pull out his dick, stroking it a couple of times before reaching out and grabbing Chan by his hair again, “Come on slut, put that mouth to good use.” he said before pulling Chan’s head forward and pressing the tip of his dick to his mouth. Chan opened his mouth eagerly and Woojin pushed his dick inside, pushing him to take it all in one go. Without thinking Chan brought his hand up and grabbed Woojin’s thigh. Immediately Woojin yanked Chan back by his hair and slapped him, “Did I say you could touch me?”
“N-no sir.” Chan gasped, bringing his hand back to his lap.
“Dirty sluts don’t get to touch me, got it?”
“Yes, sir, I’m sorry, sir.”
“Damn right you’re sorry, who knows where those hands have been.” Woojin spat at him. “Now that you’ve learned your lesson, get back to the only thing your good for.” Chan whined as Woojin pushed his face back towards his dick, opening his mouth and taking it all once again. Woojin held his head in place as he reached into his pocket, pulling out the remote again and flipping the plug to its lowest setting, drawing another whine from Chan at the loss of sensation. “Shut up, slut, you’ll take what you’re given.” Woojin said before pulling Chan’s head back slightly. He brought his other hand up to help stabilize Chan’s head before pulling his hips back and snapping them forward, fucking himself into Chan’s mouth and setting a rough, unforgiving pace. Chan choked and tears immediately welled up in his eyes, he did his best to breathe through his nose, too focused on trying not to choke to see Woojin lift up the remote and flip the toy back up to its highest setting. Again Chan’s body jolted, he choked again and cried out as best he could around Woojin’s dick. Woojin let out a low moan at the sensation, he began playing around with the settings on the vibrator to see what noises he could draw out of Chan. Soon enough Chan was moaning and whining around Woojin’s dick, tears streaming down his face, Woojin’s thrusts got sloppier as he got closer to his high. Finally he pulled out of Chan’s mouth and jerked himself quickly, shooting his load all over Chan’s face, some of it landing into his open mouth which he swallowed obediently. Woojin looked down at Chan, admiring the fucked out expression on his face, “Do you wanna cum, slut?” Woojin asked, Chan nodded frantically, “Do you think you deserve to cum?” Chan immediately shook his head, “What, you don’t deserve it but I’m just supposed to let you cum anyways?”
“P-please.” Chan gasped.
“Please what, slut?”
“Please let me cum, sir, I swear I’ll be good, I’ll never act like a slut again, please, sir, please.” Chan begged.
“I suppose you’ve been obedient enough to earn some release.” Woojin said before crouching down and slipping the cock ring off of Chan’s dick, “Now, tell me when you’re close.” Woojin said before switching the plug back to its highest setting.
Chan cried out “I’m close, I’m - ah - so close.” Woojin watched him intently waiting until the last second as he saw Chan begin to fall over the edge he flipped off the toy, the loss of sensation ruining Chan’s orgasm. He cried out as the disappointing and almost painful orgasm washed over him.
“That’s the only kind of orgasm you deserve.” Woojin said before getting up and leaving the room, returning in a few seconds and throwing a towel at Chan, “Now clean yourself up slut, you look like a mess.”
“S-Sir?” Chan croaked out.
“What?”
“T-the plug.”
“Leave it in, I’m sure you’ll enjoy feeling full for awhile.” Woojin said before leaving the room.

So
Because roommates are playing in my D&D campaign, I can’t tell them all the fun rants going through my head. Which means you all/the void get to hear them
Basic premise of the campaign (which has actually been going for like 6-7 sessions now? IDK exactly cause we never initially planned for it to go long): the party has found this lost/legendary city that’s hidden in the middle of the desert and invisible to the world. (I watched Road to El Dorado, okay?) There be some shenanigans, but they learn that the crystal which has been protecting the city/keeping it invisible and such is failing. Monsters getting into the city, and the city itself is now faintly visible from the outside, which wasn’t true before. They learn of the existence of other crystals scattered across the world and that they exist to bind Talos (as a result of some big ol’ good vs evil fight from long in the past). His followers plan to “corrupt” and then take the crystals for themselves in order to reverse those binds and let chaos rule again (which the party doesn’t fully know yet, but they have some hints of it).
And at the same time, the city itself is undergoing some shit. Because I wanted to fill out the world as being more than the party and the crystal. So the Mayor left some months back without returning, and people aren’t pleased with how things have been going since. There are whispers and plans of some sort of uprising in order to demand answers (from the young tiefling left in charge of the city who is Not Ready for this sort of responsibility...and is lowkey panicking cause he knows things aren’t good. The party Rogue isn’t impressed with him and honestly yeah, that was the point) and get shit back in order. And the party split last time, half of them examining the tunnel where I plot dumped about the crystals - and a teleportation circle is laying dormant - while the other half went to go see the crystal.
So I was like “Nice, I can intro the whole uprising thing to the half of the party not in the tunnel and give them some more shit to deal with/give them more of a sense of the current state of the city/etc etc”. And I did that, had them meet this sorta sketch older dude who was in charge of that movement, saw that they did want to fundamentally help the people of the town, and sorta offered for them to join (while also giving the information much more easily than I normally give them, because a lot of my NPCs have reasons to not implicitly trust these randos). I left the second to last session with “So, what do you say?” as a question of whether they wanted to join (whether genuinely or just to learn more of what was up).
And then was thinking of things for the most recent session, which involved some fleshing out of the people involved in said uprising, assuming they would be interested. And instead got the most blase response to a goddamn uprising: effectively just “that’s great but its not our particular goal here byeee”. Which then led to roommate wanting to investigate the room with the crystal (which I knew was basically empty anyway because the room itself doesn’t serve any purpose beyond...being a room) and rolling well on said roll. And then being like “why do I always roll good on stuff that doesn’t really matter?” And I’m like...I’m sorry the room legit doesn’t have anything in it, but also I legit just threw so much plot at you about this uprising because I thought that would be the main point of what you’d be dealing with??
Which was then compounded by them returning to the rest of the party, relaying the random info that I gave for the investigation check (which amounted to just a rough timeline of what had happened earlier) and sorta glossing over the entire uprising that was coming up. Granted, it was mentioned, but more in that people are just unhappy with the current government, not that shit’s about to go down real soon. AKA, in probably about 6 hours from where they currently stand in game...which also lines up rather well with an invasion of the city by followers of Talos...which is actually happening at the same time because one of the people heading the uprising is actually one of said followers of Talos...but they don’t know this because they chose not to look into the uprising at all.
So they have a lot to deal with soon.
Not to mention the other thing that happened. Because one of the first NPCs I introduced to them was this half-drow rogue (Vaerys, who is probably gonna become a PC for me to play the day I finally don’t have to be the forever DM). And they didn’t trust him, because he wasn’t willing to tell them any actual information (his family is being held by followers of Talos to ensure that he does his job: bringing a shard of obsidian into the city to weaken the crystal and take it...or at least not rat them out long enough for them to do the dirty work themselves...so I’d say he has reason to not trust anyone in this place). But he’s been something of a constant to the game so far, because they know he has information that might be useful, so they’ve gone seeking him out before. And same roommate who was looking around the tower made a good arcana check, so I figured I’d use that to let them in on the obsidian shard and how Vaerys is connected to the entire thing. So that happens, they find him, and I figure I’ll throw them a bone and pretty much just have my boy plot dump his backstory (not the details, but the important bits) at them. (to be fair, he chooses to trust them because roommate’s character is naive and so it’s pretty clearly not a deception. Seemed both a little more lenient than usual without being entirely out of character). So now they know about the demon invasion, and that he plans to get the crystal out so that his family is safe and the town isn’t razed to the ground by a bunch of demons or cultists or whatever the servants of Talos decide to throw at them.
Being your typical dumbass good characters, roommate is like “just give us the crystal so we can destroy it and the servants of Talos, and we can protect your family!” To which his response is effectively “How about no, because you’re like, 5 people vs an entire cult and whatever army they’ve gathered, and I’m not risking my family just cause you’ve got an inflated sense of morality. I get that you want to do the right thing - I don’t want these people to die either - but this isn’t a black and white thing, and you definitely can’t kill a whole army on your own”.
To which roommate responded by essentially quoting Spock (you all know the quote), and I’m internally like “ooh boy, that’s not getting on his good side. ‘Just sacrifice your family so that we can maybe protect this town’. That’s really gonna resonate with him”. Obviously he’s not responsive to that logic, so then roommate goes “I’m gonna try to steal the amulet”
What
“...okay, I think that’s a Dex check in this case, cause it’s pretty small and he’s holding it up slightly away from himself”
Now, keep in mind, I rolled for Vaerys’ stats, so he’s a Rogue at slightly higher level than they are. Roommate is playing a Barbarian. Guess whose Dex was too fucking high for roommate to beat?
Yeah.
So now roommate’s character (and her boyfriend’s character, who was sorta just along for the ride) are now on Vaerys’ bad side, and they have no idea where he is either, because they ended up getting stopped by the bartender in the tavern where they found him. (cause, yknow, people running through the tavern means trouble so barkeep stopped them like “What the fuck is going on. Get out. Now” Especially after roommate tried to convince them all to go chasing after him and failed...although what she doesn’t know is that those patrons are either normal people who were hoping for a normal evening, or people involved in the uprising with much more pressing things on their mind than the barbarian telling them to go on a wild goose chase for reasons they don’t even know to be true yet)
Aaand then they activated the teleportation circle (after relaying all of this wonderful news), two of them went through, and now are stuck on the other side because those were the decided on mechanics of these teleportation circles for this game. While the rest of them are in a city - essentially on the brink of some kind of revolution - which is about to be probably raided by an evil army, with a once-potential ally on the loose and no longer on great terms with them
(because side note: Vaerys also feels like he’d been betrayed by other roommate’s character, who told him that they wouldn’t rat him out to the wizards working on figuring out the crystal - aka another of my PCs who’s getting recycled for this game, and then brought said wizards down to the tunnel where Vaerys was presumably still hiding. They wanted to get help deciphering the walls, but instead shit just went sideways because I warned them that Vaerys might still be in there and I stalled for as long as I fucking could, but then they just went in anyway and I was like “...well, I warned yall. Now there’s a dagger at your side.” So Vaerys is only okay with the party Rogue - because hell yeah neutral characters, that whole solution was actually rather creative. And the sorcerer who just joined the party last session, because he just hasn’t actually met her yet)
(Other notable bit from that part between roommate and Vaerys was her saying that “well if the demons can know if you betray them, then if we take the amulet and smash it, then they’ll know it’s not your fault and your family will be fine!” And this wasn’t exactly how I said it in character but like...these people are chaotic evil. Emphasis on Chaotic. Would you trust them to care the specifics on why things went wrong? Or just believe that if things go wrong, they’ll kill your family regardless? Talos is the god of chaos, after all. These folks ain’t lawful by any means)
Point being: they got a lot to deal with
