warrior: godly, especially the self-healing aspect. this cat is fucking unkillable

reaper: still places second to drusilla most days but her avatar is only growing in strength (ooc: i don't like playing reaper anymore but it's significant to tart's lore so 2nd place it is :p)

dark knight: tanking suits her best, still improving the magic aspect of the job but fray is here to help (before i unlocked drk i would've said tart couldn't do magic at all, but then ended up deciding that the training from fray and absorbing her unlocked tart's magical capability)

dancer: *looks at the quests* yeah sure

samurai: good but hasn't mastered swordplay, still at the "conscious competence" stage

sage: an adventurer friend from her part time job (yu ;_; i miss him) taught her the basics and combined w her warrior skill to heal by channeling aether in battle they make her a decent sage! sharlayan professors disagree completely but who cares what they think, she can make lasers go pew pew that's what matters

machinist: uhh *looks at quests* yeah she's pretty good. shooting's fun (ooc: stopped at 63 w no plans to continue)

scholar: in my canon tart didn't do the scholar quests, it was her father that investigated nym with alka and the tonberries. she went to learn from him bc she wants to learn how to heal and keep her allies safe 🥺 it went great. tart only jumped out of the window to escape her lessons twice!

ninja: not very skilled w mudras, but she's a good rogue

summoner: oof. tart is dyslexic, so arcanima is really not her strong suit. she can force her way through learning scholar w the desire to heal and the teaching of a master, but summoner? hopeless. she did the magic dps role quest mostly as a dark knight lol

bard: learned archery as a teen and it's attached to some bad memories so she's not eager to keep practicing. if it's reeq teaching her though... 🤔

blue magic: (i forgot i unlocked it) dogshit but likes it a lot, hilarious job she would die practicing but also having fun at it

FFXIV x Guilty Gear AU, anyone? :3c

Currently I don't know how to plot this as its me just kicking my feet and giggling making designs for characters and fitting them into the world OK! Let us start with our party (Might not even be in the Seventh Astral/Umbral era!!)

I dont have much ANY tangible sketches for Sol but he's going to be a Xaela subspecies Au'Ra (Draconic features and that hourglass shape? Very Sol.) adventurer, who wields a Gunblade (making him a Gunbreaker!) He's not too far off Guilty Gear canon, most likely to be protagonist since references to the sun hahahah :) (Maybe Order Sol having the role that Ardbert had??!?!?!!?!?!)

Ky is an Ishgardian Elezen for sure, it just, works. And he fits being a Red Mage SOOOOO much (Lightning magic, cool sword/rapier and the acrobatics) The design below isn't set in stone it's just a maybe place holder, looks nice tho!!

Justice/Aria is also here. She is girlbossing so hard, I think she'll swap to Sage or maybe stay as a Paladin after her whole Justice alias is known since she can do that. Raen Au'Ra this time, so cool. I think Asuka might do his gay magic and muck up Arias memories (or not) Also design below woooo!!!

Axl, I am pushing the cat boy Axl agenda making him a Mi'qote, Seeker of the Sun since of course he is. BUT. He's a Reaper!!! His Voidsent is named Megumi hehehehe (Im so mean and cruel to him sorry Axl :() Also I-No is there too, she is a Miqo as well, but a Bard (They have the guitar from that one crossover, I think) look at how bad I am at drawing witch hats haha

Dizzy!! She's a mix between a Xaela and Raen Au'Ra!! Ponytail for the hair this time, she looks nice in a ponytail :) She fits being a SCH so, she be Scholaring woohoo!! The clothing is so badly drawn and just a place holder but you get the gist

This. This Venom design is so slay, he's a Viera AND a Dragoon, how homosexual of him!! I think the Assassin's guild would be up in Ishgard since maybe Slayer is Ishgardian, I don't know!! But look at this design, I'm so proud of my creativity (Should Robo-Ky be a dragon? Hmm....)

Asuka. Hyur, Midlander (since he's mid, KIDDING!!) Though, I might make him a Mi'qote later if I feel like it. He is a Summoner, he be summoning. That's it, it's an Asuka.

Raven :) there is no bird races in FFXIV. A pity. So, he's a Padjal, their cool and live for a while and I have a few Vieras already so ja. Black Mage since he is EVIL not really, just is good as magic and big ol robes, so swag.

Zato. Probably just going to make him a Hyur (Maybe Garlean???) since he is boring (affectionate) and he is a Dark Knight!!! I already have like two Reapers so yeah. Also big chunky armour, finally he isn't slutty lol.

Had an idea for a FFXIV x Rejuv crossover AU...

Well, it’s more like they’re irl MMORPG players, but the story is mostly presented through the eyes of their in-game characters/avatars. I’m not entirely sure how to go about this, but I’m gonna give it my best shot and try to guess which class/race each character would play as that’s in line with their personalities.

I’ll start with my own OCs, since I know them the best lol.

Both Orion and Hauyne would play an Au Ra character, which are basically humans with some draconic/reptilian traits, to reflect their original verse’s status as “dragons”. Orion would be a Xaela (black scales) and mains a Samurai, while Hauyne would be a Raen (white scales) and mains either Dragoon, Paladin or Reaper depending on her mood.

I think Ren would probably play as a miqo’te (idk why but him being a catboy suits him XD), specifically a Keeper of the Moon (large, rounder pupils and fangs). He’ll probably start out as a Warrior, but switches over to Dark Knight and eventually settles for Gunbreaker for the late-game content.

Melia would play as a Midlander Hyur, which is pretty much regular run-of-the-mill humans. She’ll play a Healer class, particularly the White Mage job.

As for Venam... actually, I’m not too sure which FFXIV race she’ll play as. Maybe a Plainsfolk Lalafell (the game’s version of dwarves), as a joke? I would also say that male Viera is a good contender, but I’m not entirely sure if she’ll go for a “cutesy” or “effeminate” looking avatar. But she’ll definitely enjoy maining a Ninja character.

Aelita is really easy lol. She’ll go for a Wildwood Elezen (pretty much FFXIV’s version of elves) character, and will be maining a Monk. She did dabble in the Red Mage job for a bit, but it just didn’t click with her so she went back to her old job and hasn’t changed it since.

Saki is a no-brainer: Dunesfolk Lalafell and Machinist job main. Chaos incarnate, this one.

Adam would probably play a Hellsguard Roegadyn (aka the game’s giants) or a Highlander Hyur character. I’m not too sure which job he’ll main as, but I’ll hazard a guess and say it’s Warrior.

Valarie is a bit of a tough choice... another Wildwood Elezen, maybe? For her class, she’s most likely maining a mage job. My bet is on Summoner, though. Maybe a Dancer, too?

For Ryland, it’s gonna be of an inside joke but I get the feeling he’ll play as a male Viera. And I don’t know why, but he mains a Bard and probably also likes to roleplay as the “lone wolf” character in-game.

Erin is quite easy too, lol. She’s definitely a Keeper of the Moon miqo’te, and mains a Black Mage if not a Reaper.

Huey... hm. Tough choice, but I think he plays as an Au Ra character as well. Probably a Black Mage main too.

Reina, like her brother, plays a Keeper of the Moon miqo’te character. She’s most likely a Summoner, but I can also see her as a Red Mage.

Amber is most likely another Au Ra player lmao. She definitely has Red Mage vibes.

For Lavender... a Midlander Hyur or a Wildwood Elezen? She just can’t decide, so she’s constantly switching between the two races lol. Also a Sage or a Scholar main, since she’s quite bookish.

As for Kanon... he probably won’t go for something very outlandish so a Midlander Hyur character for him. Possibly a Scholar or Summoner main? Hard to tell. I just know he’ll play a mage class.

Alexandra would play as a Xaela? I think. She’s definitely a Summoner for sure.

Damien’s character is also a Xaela, but he mains a Dragoon with the meanest looking glamour you could come up with using the pieces available in-game. Very intimidating and off-putting, but is surprisingly a nice person once you get to know him better.

ILLEGIBLE’S TOTALLY SUBJECTIVE FAVORITE EORZEA COLLECTION DESIGNS: MALE

I’ve mentioned in the past, the main thing that made me start playing FFXIV properly was seeing people’s character designs. I’m still honestly blown away by the creativity and range of approaches people bring to this game, so I’ve decided to be an absolute madwoman and break my favorites into subcategories to share with anyone curious.

And to be clear. I’m not going to do something so broad as “oh top ten in-general :3″ because that would be sensible. No, I’m going to do it for all the current combat jobs. And all the current races. And different genders within the races and combat jobs as things stand. And I’m going to make a model-focus subcategory. And there are gonna be LOTS. Because I seriously cannot understate how inspired I’ve been by this community, and after however many years I just feel the need to vomit some incredible visuals I’ve encountered at you guys lol.

NOTE: In an abundance of caution, I want to stress this list isn’t a value judgment on anyone but a fragment of things that blew me personally away. Looking at the DRK sections it will be immediately clear that I Illegible really like that edgy dark knight aesthetic lmao, but there are plenty of non-edgy dark knights that I also love to bits. Other people might not like edgy dark knights. Due to a combination of size and search constraints plus trying to keep gear somewhat varied, these glamours are just what wound up on this particular list of mine. I could make another list one day. Other people can make lists too that are totally different.

One random little detail I like about the First is the different names for jobs and races

We know Warrior is still Warrior, but:

Paladin -> Knight

Bard -> Ranger

White Mage -> Devout

Black Mage -> Magus

Makes me wonder what the other jobs are known as... so I’m gonna guess cause I’m bored! I guess we can assume they are the classic/alternate names of past FF jobs, following that pattern above.

Dark Knight -> ???

Gunbreaker -> ??? SeeD lol

Monk -> Black Belt

Dragoon -> Templar? The job has always been known as Dragoon, I’m only guessing Templar because it’s the other spear using class

Samurai -> Parivir? After the Ivalice version

Ninja -> Thief? Or... it could just stay Ninja, lol

Summoner -> Evoker

Red Mage -> Red Wizard? Red Battlemage? Sage?

Machinist -> Gunner probably

Dancer -> ???

Scholar -> This is tough!! Who knows!! But we might find out in the expansion, since there seems to be opportunity to use pixies like fairies

Astrologian -> Time Mage?
