one thing i just noticed is the b4-5-6 set is that kasumi hrid laegy snap in different ways/have a “corrupted” form of some kind

in b4 hrid becomes a rokkr because of his lingering guilt over the things that happened to his homeland as well as his wariness

in b5 laegy temporarily gets consumed by the flame of muspell bc of her self-conscious wishes for a more ideal self

in b6 kasumi fking snaps and nearly beats elm to death out of frustration and loneliness

after 6 billion years i finally finished ddd.

heart feeling after i had finished kh3: crushing disappointment and dread

heart feeling after ddd: warm and content and familiar-post-kh-feeling

now im not saying ddds story is good. its garbage its where the whole xehanort party started but like, ive accepted that (apart from my post kh2 au sshhh) but the rest of it? the feel of it, how much fun i had with the abilities and dream eaters and playing as sora AND as riku, and god the aesthetic both visually and audiowise in the symphony world? i teared up. of course it looked like kh1 wonderland with painted leaf walls but the concept of those fantastical fields of colours and music in the air? a bitch might have teared up the same way kid me did when i first got to fly in neverland.

and god the twewy hints. and GOD sora being in literal gay rainbow land and him and riku making dearly beloved??? the literal title and end screen song since day one??? its not soras song, its not soras and kairis, its not the lights, its soras and rikus song??? in canon???? my heart feels like its on fire osidbfvoidbfdbfio

this was basically a new game for me since i had never played the second half of it. and i can say for certain, i prefer ddds inferior graphics quality to kh3 any day if that means the characters still feel like they are themself and not puppets on strings. kh3 had a couple good parts, but theyre so overshadowed by all the bad parts that i literally struggle to go replay it because it makes me feel so bad.

meanwhile shitty basically-kh1-graphics ddd i can see myself going back to just to catch more dream pokemon.

and yes im not gonna lie, i grew up with kh1/kh2 graphics so kh3 feels off to me. for all the obvious reasons but also for the visuals. what goes does it do that twilight town looks 10 times better if you cut out 80% of its map? id rather go back to kh2 then.

ive ragged plenty on 3 in the past weeks, thats not what im here for rn. ddd gave me back that warm feeling from playing kh and im really happy about that.
