so i uh, met someone

a few weeks ago, i played some “electronic” “music” in front of people, for money, for the first time. there was a gal in the front row who i didn’t know but who really loved what i did. I wanted to talk with her more, but a bunch of my friends were there and loads of ppl wanted to talk to me and so i just hoped she’d be there later. she was (turns out she was one of the organizers), we talked a lot in a group setting, which was so rad (‘whence rap-rock?’) (i overheard her and the presenter arguing over who should have spring rolls, and my hungry ass intervened like if y’all both don’t want em i’ll eat em right now), and we exchanged fb info and started talking about hanging out.

she kept saying “i’m trying to think of ideas for stuff to do together” and, privately, i was like ‘lol is this a date?’ and then she sent me this honestly massive and well-reasoned/thought-out list of stuff we could do (pros and cons, y’all!) and i just... kinda panicked lol. told my friends the story and they were like ‘uhhh wow, Yeah’ like ohhhh gosh

yesterday afternoon (sunday, 05/29/17) she came over for the first time. we made lunch (beans and rice leftovers, and miso soup i made that morning, and grapes that she brought), then we talked about what we wanted to do that day... while like, staring at each other and blushing.

We talked about so much, too. Both of our medical stuff (during which i came out as trans to her - complaining abt my dr wanting too much bloodwork), families, exes, all sorts of stuff. It was all rly deep but... so easy and chill? she noticed an agate point my friend daisy gave me, and i showed her my rock collection, and we, no lie, scrolled through my /tagged/rocks (which works more like a search on mobile btw), because pretty rocks.

her idea which i liked the most (she had several) was to drive along the bayou, and see what we could find - parks, industrial sites, construction sites, etc. i remembered that some time back, i had volunteered to plant wildflowers along one of the bayous, so we decided to go see how they were doing.

aaaand i got lost. i turned too soon, realized it, went down the wrong street, realized it, saw some flowers on what i assumed was the wrong bayou bank, then went back the first way but for longer, then gave up (we both spent the whole time poking fun at how frustrated i was getting, lol) ... and found myself at a familiar intersection. “okay... if we don’t find it this time, we’ll go back and like, watch a movie or something.” “deal.”

and then there was the pavilion! and there were the flowers we saw! We got out and walked over to the bayou bank, enjoyed the cool breeze - by this point it was early evening - and sat down among the flowers. There were a bunch of dfferent kinds - some purple, some yellow/orange. I don’t know whose idea it was to put flowers in each others’ hair, but we both braided a couple in near each others’ ears. I got a picture but my phone died before it could save.

we had passed by a local herb garden (part of the larger park, which we had been at) on our way there, and decided to stop in. She led me around and pointed out fruits and veggies growing... there were a few nearly-ripe grape tomatos near the top of one plant, so i got up on the raised bed and snagged them. Mine was super sour and still green inside - she ate half of hers and gave the rest to me?? Wow.

The park was closing, so we started heading out, and then she spotted a bunny, chilling and eating grass. She got a video of it, she sent me it later, it was super cute (the video, and also watching her take the video). I’ll post it if she gives me permission (it is her video, after all).

On our way out we decided on pizza for dinner. There’s a chain around town that does personal (7″ or 11″) pizzas with as many toppings as u want for one price. We decided to split the larger size - she was okay with vegan, i was okay with gluten-free. I had been complaining about the texture of gluten free pastries (especially pizza dough), so she started ribbing me abt how “worried” she was that it would be “boring” compared to the regular dough. It was not. It was better. I’m never not getting that dough again.

We went back to my place, ate grapes, and chatted, and cuddled??? Oh my goodness. It got late and it started raining, so she had to go back home. She didn’t want to leave and i didn’t want her to go. I was nervous until she got home, on account of the rain and her being tired.

That was DAY ONE.

She came over again this afternoon after work. I met up with her at a nearby coffeeshop, and we hung out there for a while talking some more. We ate literally the same stuff, and then like... the plan was to watch a movie, which we eventually got around to doing. After more talking, and blushing, and and and... and browsing netflix and filmstruck for a good bit. 

We watched a film noir that was... weirdly sexist? Like this rich old dude kept assuming more and more of a role in this young working woman’s life, more and more of a say in how she lived. We cuddled a heck of a lot. And before the end.... we wred smoooochinG????? she kissed me?????????? holly heck. holy heck. wow.

she told me i had really pretty legs... “like doe’s legs. like a faun” and i was just. floored.

she’s such a great kisser, too. and She,, kissed ME?? when has that happened in the history of literature. goodness.

she loves the way i say “heck yeah” when i get excited abt little things... she loves when i get excited in general.

i kinda wanna make my blog an aesthetic blog bc she has the url and idk i don’t want her to see like callout posts and shit
