Aaaaand we’re back for another 911 Budd(ie) Watch with @bexfangirlforlife (yeay)! — I feel you in some way, btw: Already knowing what’s going on with the show kinda feels like part of the ‘fan from abbroad’ experience. Still, I could do without all the fist fights — make me watch it with like a week of ‘mentally prepping’ sometimes 😅
So here we go: Linox 8×12 First Watch
“Something tells me something's gonna happens tonight” — it’s always the choice of music! SPN fellas know that. Dispatch isn’t introduced as chaotic and loud as usual. My guess would’ve been either that dream thing or that Maddie’s gonna have a breakdown or something 🫣 Oh my god, the way she instinctively reaches for Chimney 🥺🥺🥹 Wait, five weeks?! Five weeks and you’re talking like it’s nothing? [A/N: And there it is, the voice crack!)
Okay, Eddie seems a bit spooked by the stuffed animal heads and I feel him so much! And the way he says “Edmundo”?—Chef's kiss! 👌🏼 Ah, okay, was wondering how Eddie ended up in the Uber trap.... Still not satisfied, but at least better told than expected. And as for the bookshelf: If nothing, it’s at least a real mood! 😂 At some point you get so annoyed that you just want something to look somewhat finished and homey... And I have to admit, he doesn’t seem that “changed” as I first feared because of Ep stills clothes... The only thing that stands out is that (imo) Eddie’s basic physical tension is back to about the same level as in season two. Which, considering his life events, is a pretty convincing way of conveying his nervousness. I’m reconciled, even despite the choice of clothes (lol)
And oh my god, Josh, yes! Love how he’s the only one really trying to be “his usual self” and make it a little easier on Maddie that way 🥰 “Like four of us caught listeria there” I need him to be my gossip buddie!
Whatcha mean, obvious, Bex? 🤭 You talking about the “Tischlein Deck dich” (wishing table) with a free Big Mac menu...? But that’s s not an obvious placement </s> (snicker)
“Just a little piece of joy”— yes, ofc, stab that knife into my heart and turn it. (five seconds later) The whole PS5 story is emblematic of what happens when you're back in old patterns: Even though Helena surely thinks she’s nothing more but a ‘peacemaker’ here— all she does, is pushing Eddie back into that out-dated role she still sees him in: The overwhelmed, early 20-something father who somehow tries to please everyone— and therefore fails (“You know, he runs hot, especially at night”) As far as I can judge, Eddie (even Chris) doesn’t even feel like he has a real chance to take the PS5 back with him 😕 It’s maddening, because it feels like the last 7 years didn’t happen and he’s back to square one! But: Ramón is really trying to be supportive here (“You don’t have to buy his love, you already have it”) *sigh* Give your boy a real hug, goddammit!
“A year?!” The devastation in Buck's voice sums it up. Dear Go—Chuck Shurly! Am just briefly past the “God’s writing his memoirs” parts, which makes your "let me get in on the gay firefighter show now’ line sound even sweeter to my ears, Bex (ha!) And then his name is Smith, a fucking common name, as if Chuck just wanted to play another round of “I’m mortal” 🤣 That wire though? Oi, we really seem to be spoiled when it comes to parking garages here— holy guacamole 🤯 “Tell me you have insurance”— Oh, Athena, who’s gonna break it to you?
(Not my cat running across my laptop and cell phone—c’mon, Nals! 🐈)
Anyway (cough) While I absolutely get (and feel) that cringe factor, I feel for Eddie so much!! Dunno, it’s that little moment when you realize just how lonely he really is 😬🥺 Actually, he'd be the kind of driver I’d normally consider talk to... Still, gotta fast this forward—(shiver) But it’s good to see him back with his kid! And someone send that girl a flower bouquet for that no-coffee-advise, please, thanks!
“Appreciate you, Buck!” First time I remember him actually say that and he’s hundreds miles away 🥺🥺 Oh boy! [A/N: And Chris has grown so much, in more than one way—Eddie really needed to hear that he’s still proud of him.]
Okay, can we take a minute and salute for that amazing Momma Thena talk? She’s got all her kids backs! #boom

When @bexfangirlforlife making notes about 8x11 actually brings you to watch it today 🥰 Initially wanted to leave you a comment, but it kinda... escalated. Hope you have has much fun with this as I had with yours!
So here we go: Linox 8x11 First Watch
Oh my, you’re so right about the numbers! 👀 My brain didn’t catch that until today! How could I miss this?! 🤯
Okay, okay... Can we take a quick break and discuss the whole “You’ll never quit because God doesn’t ever quit” opener regarding Bobby’s mom? Not gonna lie; it instantly reminded me of SPN “Faith.” 🤭
And really, how likely is it that you get called to an emergency where you meet your estranged mom—especially after living in LA for so long and her being some sort of Spiritual Big Player who comes around regularly? Watching it now, it’s absurd but hilarious! 😅 And Ravi's little “I’m used to it?” The name mix-ups must have been going on for weeks now. Poor Ravi, for real!
“Ma'am, I’m not Satan, I’m Buck.” A Satan reference right when Buck comes out—followed quickly by a “Thank you, Jesus”? This feels like a deliberate choice, and I’m here for it! The same goes for Bobby: “We don’t speak because every time we do, I get this kink in my neck that lasts for like a month.” [A/N: And there it was! Nice!] It’s a mood! 🤣 When “I think you’re really good at what you’re doing” is not actually a compliment—#slayed.
You have a weird way of making new friends. It’s kind of sad; Ravi has been there “for four years,” and they’ve never really clicked. RIP my beloved head-canon, where they become more amicable after Ravi returned. 🤧
Tommy putting the champagne bottle in the fridge?! His little “Why not?” breaks my multishipper heart even more now. He wanted a nice, leisurely morning with someone he’s fallen madly for—someone he thinks is the wrong guy for him. 😭 No matter what, I want them to give Tommy a happy ending in some way!
“Long-term relationships are hard”—ba-hahaha! Superb! First of all, this whole scene could be right out of a Halloween special episode. Second, Buck saying it is absurdly meta. I mean: Not only does it apply to his past love interests, especially Tommy, but come on, he’s managed his seven-year-long situationship/once-in-a-lifetime-friendship well so far.
“Of what Eddie and I have”—oh, stupid kid! Knowing the struggles with overexplaining, it’s not that far-fetched to see it both ways: One, Buck’s truly struggling to communicate his love for Tommy. Either that; or two: His repression reached high-speed 🤯 #multishipperhell it is!
And yes, I think the last scene is about the crossover 🥰😉
911 episode 117 (8×11) first watch notes:
(They should have had one more episode in a previous season, because then 8×11 would have been 118, which would have been a nice symmetry for the numbers)
Seeing the very different opinions really screwed with my brain on friday, so maybe it was for the best that I didn't have time until now to watch the episode. My thoughts aren't spinning as much anymore and I'm ready for this episode. So let's go
Starting off with Buck moving in 😄
Honestly though that must be such a strange feeling. Like even without the buddie of it all that would be a big adjustment to move into your best friends (old) place after they moved somewhere else.
Aw Maddie not really surprised to see him. Gotta love Buckley siblings 🥰
This is very different from the Spn faith healer story XD
Oh Bobby... did he know before he saw the poster or...?
Ravi 😁
Poor Ravi
Lol Buck is jesus
Does she recognise him?
The way Hen and Chimney looked when Bobby said it's his mom 😂
Oh right her throat was slashed just the last episode
Wow Buck could you be more awkward trying to make friends with Ravi
It is a huge kitchen space
Wow low blow
Or doesn't she know?
Could Buck talk more about Eddie?
Yeah cause having a silver star equals not doing anything illegal ever
Tommy 🤩
I mean I cam't blame Ravi for wanting to get away from that (aka nonstop Eddie talk), but maybe wait a little to see if putting two exes together on one table was a good idea, before you leave...
Tommy's lookig around "is... this... eddie's place?" 😆
That is a lot of food
"What do you mean competition?" - he is so confused. The repression runs deep
"He is straight" is not the strong argument you might think it is, Buck. Because it does not say anything at all about your feelings
The scoffed 'okay' was a choice
I still don't quite get what Buck tried to say with the "I don't have to want to sleep with everyone I have feelings for" bit. Like in this context it very much implies that he has feelings for Eddie. But he used it as an argument against being into Eddie...?
If he wanted to say 'I love Eddie as a friend but don't have any attraction to him (sexually or romantically)' I don't thinn this was the way to say it
What the...
Did he try to kill her?
"You're under the garden" 😆
The music is waayy to chipper for a murder scene.
Well I'd say that's direct karma
I love Maddie always immediately getting the update on Buck's (dating) life.
Buck making the house homey again
Ah this is the bit for the crossover isn't it.

Linox First Watch Notes: 9-1-1 8x15
Okay, yes, I’m two weeks late, but I just couldn’t bring myself to watch this episode yet... So this Notes post may be... more sporadic than usual [A/N: or not 😅]
As for Miss Blake, despite all my love for Bridget Regan, I only have one thing to say: get. Off. My. Screen. 😒 We’re very aware of what you did, thanks.
Reasons to eye-roll: “We’re very likely dealing with a superstrain.” Yeah, ‘course you are 🙄😬 The nº1 answer in the sci-fi universe if everything else about your story would otherwise lead to absurdum #supervirus #superstrain #superlethal. I mean, there are really nasty, terrible diseases out there... We all know that too well... But c’mon, every time?! 🫠😅
“It’s too personal... Listen to me” — every. thing about this hurts: Bobby’s words, his reassurance, his self-control, his calmness. All the things he perfected as a captain, especially when you’re a patient standing on the edge of a skyscraper and want to throw yourself off—
Fight me, but since he already knew then: This was his first try for a goodbye 🥺💔
Happy little side note (guess, we all can use one): Let’s bitch about 911 and TM‘s choices all we want, but I’ll always love that there’ve been all these actors with recurring supportive roles for years (Hi, Officer Williams 🥰) Dunno, it’s almost as lovely as Dean Winchester’s (never fulfilled, but well-nurtured) love for American Pie, and I love everything about it!
Oh god, Maddie — the strong, brave woman that you are! 🥺 If I imagine this was real... There’s just one word: cruel.
“It’s not my job, it’s yours. So look again! Turn inside out if you have to...” So... Are we that FBI guy, giving Tim a piece of our mind? 😂
And Ravi collapsing? That’s me currently stumbling through my weeks 💯 Is this level of self-irony already unhealthy? Asking for a friend...
Ooooh, fuck off!! One “c’mon on, kid, here ya go” from Bobby wasn’t enough, huh...?! But why be nice when you can crush our hearts, right...? (scoff)
Still, now I need a Buckley-Panikkar-as-sibling short story, please... 🫠🤧
“I don’t know science, but I do know arson. Some people want to burn down the world. But sometimes they do that so they can be the ones to put it out.” Uh-oh, do I smell a hint of barely hidden political criticism intentionally put into our favorite puppy’s mouth? I mean, “Yeah, but you might get it for stopping one...”..?! 🫠 Just saying...
I. Said, “Get the fuck off my screen, Moi-ra!” No! No! God NO! Not to get Bobby’s “I’m happy to talk about my kids” in my face. Damn 😭😭 Really— can’t get over the fact that he. Knew. The whole time. And above all, I’m watching this on the same day that I saw Athena’s farewell for him (“You’re home now...”)
Sorry, need to take a break here — again.
The minutes after that, summarized in one sentence: Buckaroo and Mama ’thena in action is 🔥 — even though, the episode’s final temperature’s gonna -328,00° F......
“She was just here...” Well, pal, she still is. Wanna bet? Sursprise: Moira and the wonderful water dispenser... 😤Thank God an Athena Grant has never been easily thrown off the scent.
“There’s no way I’m getting into that death trap.” Well, missus, it’s either that or Mister ‘Uh, ex-boyfriend’ will love to strap you into a harness and drop you like airmail. It only needs one person to ask 😏 #4u2
And now for all my German mutuals out there (takes a breath) — 🚁 “Und es geht up, up, up, nobody is perfect. Up, up, up! #byefbi
Okay, 18 more minutes in five sentences:
1. Hen Wilson, The Machine! #protecther@allcosts
2. That’s... not how I imagined Tommy saying ‘Chimney’ for the first time 🫤
3. Be more like Tommy. Do more of “Something incredibly stupid”, then look like a confused squirrel. #lovehim
4. “Agent Santos is feeling a little dramatic.”
and last, but not least
5. A man who “is waving to you.” (Love, that it’s Tommy saying this, btw. Always standing up for him nowadays 🥰🤩)
...
I’m really too short of tissues to write something about the rest, sry 🤧
...
Oof. Y’know, even after watching now, a tiny part of me is still light-headed and delulu about Bobby (Mostly because of “Two jumps in a week, I bet you think that’s pretty clever.”— y’know Bobby’s close call that episode before. Then the fact that we don’t really get to see his body here... The obvious parallels to Spock, etc.)
But— just in case, death really ends here with the funeral: You’re gonna be okay, kids. I love you, kids. They gonna need you, kids.
And if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna hide now, crying about that last lab scene. Aka: the kaleidoscope of pain™ Each of them scattered, together yet so achingly alone. Today, I’m a bad poet manque.
And someone really needs to hold Buck, now that neither Tommy nor Eddie can. Thank you.

Okay, it’s done, oof. Still don’t know what to actually think of all this, but one thing's for sure— I’m not ready for next week either @bexfangirlforlife 🫣🫂 Anyway, here we go:
Linox First Watch Notes 8x14
“That’s a bald-faced lie! Why would they call it a strawberry if it’s not a berry”— Chimney asks the right questions here 🤭 Love all these domestic scenes so much!
Well, that... cake thing escalated quickly (hehe) Let’s put this into Paul Strickland's words: “Kid tells you the gender” #oopsie 😅🙊 That’s a hundred times ‘No’ to gender reveal parties for me...
Take public transportation? Um, no thanks. Watching a completely ridiculous primetime series is starting to make me hesitate about that (lol). Or, to say it like Ravi, “Oh God.”
We all know those legendary hero scenes by heart, but this one was 🔥 I don’t even know where to start: On one hand, we have Bobby, for whom this situation is kinda flashback-esque, especially because of the baby. Then Buck, on the verge of throwing caution to the wind, but in the next moment, he’s exactly who Ravi needs. It’s like the story comes full circle, just actual well told this time.
And maybe I’m interpreting too much here, but since I’m from the “Evan Buckley has ADHD” team, this second bar scene is perfect example of Buck being a good listener and giving people space when he’s self-regulated enough. Intentional or not, this is a portrayal of ADHD that closely aligns with reality (at least from my experience)— and I’m here for it.
And anyway, “You have to push the doubt away. Because the second you let it in, it’s like a virus. It’ll eat you alive” is officially my favorite quote from Season 8 now! Not only foreshadowing and kinda therapeutic, but— it shows how much Buck has matured since he introduced as that ‘troublemaker’ who already had too many second chances.
Now, the whole lab drama can be summed up as “The crazy b!tch actually did it...” Bridget Regan is really something else in this role. And still, it really fits with how one knows her from ‘The Rookie’ @do-androids-dream-ao3acc. I mean, “They don’t like me because I’m ambicious”, right? 🫢 I’m pleasantly surprised. (A/N: Didn’t realize she’s on ‘Jane the Virgin’, too 😮🙊)
And Moira, no offense, but I could think of 1-2 other reasons right now, why they don’t—a fire, of course 🙄😬 Speaking of, I feel for Ross right now: Being locked in there is probably like a personal little hell. Still, everything has gone a little smoother than I expec—BOOM. So much for that.
Oh my, oh my... “118th sound off.” Can’t remember the last time Buck’s voice sounded this.... raw 🥺 It. Hurts! And exactly—“What do ya mean, you can’t open it?!”
Fuck, Chim... Already knew it was going to be him again, but Hen!1! 🤯💔 ... And Chim can’t even help her, at least not the way he wants to... Watching this somehow really hits different.
Maybe because it’s so much quieter, more unagitated than similar calls. This way Hen’s intake of breath, Chimney’s cough— both gets much more weight 😟 At the same time, it’s almost unbearable because of this damn silence. And “Not sure if I’ll make it home for dinner—I think I picked up a little bug at the office.” fits in seamlessly here. It’s flat, and weirdly calm 😬😅 I hate it. I love it. I want more of it.
“Oh, she wasn’t on the property...” Oh really? That’s all you have to say, sir? Try again.
“Pandemic in a bottle.” Okay, yeah... yes, still one of the worst words this century... 😐
“You didn’t think I came here to ask for permission, did you?” Yes. Go girl! I’m pretty sure that would actually cost you your badge too, but I certainly won’t complain right now, this ep is freaking heavy 🙊😅
Bobby, you good, good man— you really would stand behind your team until the end 🫂
Moira. Of. Course. As if we could expect anything else (huff).
Okay, that’s been tough. But also really, really good.
Is it Thursday already?
