Edgeworth is autistic and doesn't understand his emotions. Phoenix is making him feel things about his career choice, like uncertainty. And Edgeworth really doesn't like being uncertain. He views the feelings as unnecessary because he doesn't understand them

i feel like el SHOULD continue to have her powers while finding herself. it would be easier for her to develop her own put, but also she has to learn to find herself while she still has her powers methinks. because the first step to her knowing herself is HER looking at her character and personality with or without powers and thinking about her as a person, not just her as a superhero. i think it'll be more impactful if she can find herself as a person WHILE still having her powers and recognizing her power in relation to them, you know?
