EP21 Pt1 All-Day Breakfast Pie (Day 17)

SUMMARY: Paradise continues in Love Island as the summer of a lifetime goes on. Who's there for love and who is just playing a game? It’s the final morning at Casa Amor. How will the Islanders be spending their last morning together? 

NOTE: Some of the Canon Choices for MC have been used for other girls brunch dates. Some of the new dialogue added is from the actual UK show.

Priya reads out the first text of the day:

“Girls, today is your last day in Casa Amor. This morning the boys are going to treat you to brunch. Then you’ll return to the Villa in the afternoon. This evening, you will be asked whether you want to stick  with your current partner in the Villa, or switch and couple up with one of the boys from Casa Amor. Your partner in the Villa will face the same decision. #packyourbags #endoftheline #allchangeplease”

Casa Amor Brunch Dates:

The girls make their way outside to the terrace. Priya, her eyes widening in surprise, halted abruptly. “Girls, stop. You are not ready for this.”

Tables and chairs have been set out for brunch. Each of the tables has one of the boys beside it, holding a champagne flute. But the real show-stopper was their outfits. Or lack thereof. The boys are wearing sexy waiter outfits.

“This leaves very little to the imagination.” Kassam grimaces.

Lottie leaned back, a playful grin spreading across her face as she looked Kassam up and down. “But I can get into it,” she said flirtatiously. 

He laughs. “I wasn’t expecting that to be honest.”

At the next table over, Graham looked down at himself, but his tone was playful when he looked up and met Marisol’s gaze. “This isn’t exactly my normal look.”

Her eyes sparkled as she appreciated his new look. ���Can you keep the outfit?”

As Felix gestured to his black budgie smugglers, he exclaimed cheekily, “The breeze goes to all the right places…” 

Priya let out a laugh, enjoying herself. “You should wear that all the time!”

Hope leaned back in her chair, her smile playful and bright as she eyed Arjun’s outfit. “Some of your outfit is missing.”

“I guess that’s the idea.” Arjun’s face broke into a wide grin. “I’m in my element.” He gestured to his outfit with a flourish.

Carl flexes his biceps when you walk over. “I know we kinda look ridiculous, but it is so hot today I actually really like this outfit. I’m just glad we didn’t have to wear the full suit and tails,” he says with a chuckle.

“At least it's practical,” you reply, offering a soft laugh.

His voice drops lower, conspiratorial almost, as he leans in a little. “You should have heard Graham getting on our case when we were trying to get these on. He kept talking about keeping our sheets starched and our 'sails right.'”

S6 SPOILERS AHEAD

I'm not even mad, I'm just flabbergasted. Fusebox took the best thing they did in the last four seasons (the surprise dumping) and completely squandered it. It's almost impressive in how just how wrong they could get things. The whole lead up should have been the dropped jaws when everyone saw us return. Instead, they were like, yawn, nice to see you or whatever. Saw you in the postcard.

WHO. THE FUCK. MADE THIS CHOICE? What? Why? It's so fundamentally unsatisfying. This is our popularity fantasy. We should have walked in like shock and awe. But we didn't. It just undoes so much. Now, we don't know if R/R/L/J stuck because they were being loyal despite us being gone, or just because they knew we were there? And I'm positive the only reason they did this is so we'll find out later that Ozzy didn't switch because he knew MC was back and wanted to be with her instead. Oh man, the poor Ozzy girlies. I was one, then I went back and did a loyal Lewie route instead, but I feel for you.

Also I want it known that in the villa fic I'm writing, I 100% called that Ozzy and Grace would be getting back together. Because why wouldn't they? Fusebox continues to self-cannibalize S2, copying and pasting most of Hope and Noah's scenes on top of Ozzy and Grace's. Right down to the cake Nope couldn't decorate together and fought over--which was a metaphor for their relationship. Grozzy had pretty much the same scene only it was a dog house they metaphorically couldn't get on the same page with.

I have so many thoughts (and complaints about Amelia), but I think I'll do a separate post for that.

Why am I not suprised?

So some of you may have seen my post about replaying the newest volume and taking Shawn with me instead of Kyle.

(I'm on a Theo route, but stuck by Kyle during Casa as he was the best of the bunch. But since Claudia said she did bits with Shawn I wanted to see if drama would unfold if I brought him with me instead of Kyle.

And to prevent giving Kyle false hope by bringing him with me to the Villa.

Well, get ready to be disappointed.

Pictures and my opinion are underneath the cut to avoid spoilers in case you want to play it yourself but I wouldn't waste your tickets on this in my opinion.

So it starts the same with who ever you pick being happy "even while they're the best of the bunch and they'll just have to try harder." I will admit reading that last part about Kyle almost made me reconsider playing this episode again to bring him with me.

And then the biggest dissapointment of the whole episode the name chance to Kyle WHICH DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE!

So you slept with Kyle...while we were with Kyle that night....Sure.

Like if you are going to chance the name to the person FB is forcing down our throaths even if you've friendzoned them like four times already, at least make the effort to be like; he snuck away after your night together or something like that. But FB would never do that because that would mean that your man isn't loyal and it would cause drama and more work for FB to work out.

If you are going to chance the name turn it into Max at least or something since we've already established he is a game player.

And since I didn't do anything with anybody here outside of the challenges, and I want her and Theo to end it I just had to point it out.

And regarding Shawn, who I think had like one or two small convo's with, just gets the whole personality of the person who you're bringing with you. Head over heels, going to show you how much you mean to him. I lit the fire in his kitchen or something like that - I had totally forgotten he was a cook because we never really went into depth with it-.

This whole scene would just have been better if we had to option to be like; I brought you because I see you as a friend, but you deserve a chance at love so I brought you.

(And it would have been ever better if he slept with Claudia for the drama)

Overall,

I don't know why I expected these seasons to be like the first 3 where you're choices actually mattered. There would have been so many chances of drama (either Kyle playing the game and cheating, Claudia having to see Shawn everyday even though she friendzoned him, the fight between Theo and Shawn). Since I do think that if Claudia would do bits with anybody it would be Shawn since she had the most connection with him.

So yeah, just another thing FB disapointed us in. Although I just might write a one-shot about this whole situation and how it could have been. Or if any other fanfic writers want to do that, you're free to do so I would eat that stuff up.
