When Ryu started university and Chairman Morinomiya had suggested he go to the one in the city so that he could stay at home, he flat out refused, claiming he didn’t want to be a burden and that she was already doing more than enough by paying for his education. So Hayato had stepped up. After a serious talk with six year old Kotaro, the two moved into a small 2 room apartment together in a different city with mutters of “since we’re going to the same university” and “seriously, it’s cheaper this way”. Kotaro stayed with the Chairman, attending a school close to the academy. Ryu would go home every weekend to visit him and pretend that everything was the same.

Hayato, feeling the added pressure of keeping up his baseball scholarship, found his comfort in quiet nights on the couch that took up most of their tiny hall and B grade horror movies that still managed to make Ryu cover his eyes while they watched, or in the park down the street where they’d go running when staying indoors became too much to bear and where they’d sometimes take their brothers when they came to visit, or when he accompanied Ryu home on the weekends because he may not show it as much, but he loves his family.

Neither Ryu nor Hayato mentioned the mind-numbing relief they felt when they realized that they would have the other by their side for another year.

One year of cohabitation and palpable UST turned best friends into boyfriends. Three years after that they had graduated. Six months later they had settled into new jobs and a new apartment in their old city. In a week, Kotaro moved in. The very next day Taka nearly tore the place down during the first of what would become many visits to the new Kashima-Kamitani residence. It wasn’t much, but it was home.

Kamitani stared at the brunet sitting near him. Kashima had just gotten out of the bath, Koutarou having taken a separate one with Obaa-chan, and was in the process of drying his hair. Kamitani let his gaze wander over to Kashima’s exposed collarbones and then back to the side of his face, taking in his still-wet skin and beautiful, big eyes.

“You look hot,” Kamitani deadpanned, staring intently over at his lover.

Immediately, Kashima flinched, startled by the sudden declaration. “K-Kamitani,” Kashima stammered, “T-That’s not something you sa–!”

Kamitani ignored Kashima’s embarrassment and scooted closer, wrapping an arm around the other’s back, settling down on his waist. Kashima grew redder and hotter as Kamitani leaned in and touched their foreheads together.

“You should try saying Hayato more often,” Kamitani murmured, moving closer to touch their noses in a light eskimo kiss. “Right, Ryuuichi?”

Before Kashima could utter a response, Kamitani closed in and kissed him softly. Kashima placed his hand lightly onto Kamitani’s shoulder, falling deeper into the chaste kiss.

Just then, the door clicked shut and the boys hurriedly separated from another. Kamitani more composed and a bit annoyed while Kashima blushed a deep red before averting his gaze towards the bedroom door. No adult in sight, just Koutarou was standing at the entrance, warm and fluffy from his bath.

“Nii-cha!” Koutarou’s small voice called. “Kota wan’ chuuu~ chu!”

Still flushed, Kashima opened his arms for his little brother. “Hai, hai, Koutarou. Come here.”

Koutarou joined the two lovers, sitting on his brother’s lap and clinging onto the front of his sleep shirt. Kashima pressed a loving kiss onto the top of his baby brother’s head, then laid his own head against Kamitani’s shoulder. And to his surprise, Kashima felt a pair of lips kissing the top of his head and a gentle squeeze on his waist.

So I was thinking about your post on Inui admitting his big bi crush on Ryuuichi, right? If he decides to declare his love and then set about wooing him (let’s say in this case that Ryuuichi and Hayato either haven’t admitted their feelings yet or are simply the bestest of bros), how do you think he’d deal with Kotarou? Because as everyone knows, if you’re going to pursue Ryuuichi your biggest love rival is his baby brother 😋

Ahhhh okay, sorry it took this long to reply, my dear!

But yes, Hayato is a little emotionally constipated and hasn’t even admitted to himself yet that he has a crush on Ryuuichi yet. So when Inui barges in, declaring his love for Ryuuichi, Hayato is lowkey jealous that Inui was able to do something that he couldn’t bring himself to do, and he’s about to throw the guy out on his ass when Ryuuichi beats him to it.

Face bright red, Ryuuichi nudges Inui into the hallway outside so they can have a private conversation while Usaida sits in front of the door - to make sure none of the kids (and Hayato) try to interrupt or eavesdrop on them, supposedly.

Ryuuichi is super flattered at the confession, but he’s also super shy and his face is all red and he’s super flustered so Inui, who’s actually a pretty stand-up guy despite how he likes to act, gets worried that maybe Ryuuichi is uncomfortable with Inui’s feelings because he’s straight or something.

Inui offers to leave him alone when he sees how uncomfortable Ryuuichi is, but Ryuu is quick to reassure him that that’s not the problem at all, and that Ryuu himself is gay.

The thing is…he kind of has a huge crush on his best friend, Hayato.

And Inui is crushed - of course he is, but he sucks it up, and tells Ryuu not to worry about it. He’s already turned to leave, planning to spend the next hour or so sulking in his bedroom and crying over what a mess his love life is, but Ryuu stops him.

“I cant be your boyfriend,” he says, looking apologetic, “But…maybe we can still be friends?”

And he looks so hopeful, and maybe it makes Inui a bit pathetic, but he finds he can’t say no. So he nods, and follows Ryuu back into the daycare room.

The heated glare Hayato shoots him as soon as they walk back inside tells Inui that that’s one crush that’s definitely returned, but neither Ryuu nor Hayato seem to know about each other’s feelings and Inui may be a good guy, but he’s not that good.

So he decides to let them figure it out on their own.

In the meantime, Inui decides to join the babysitter’s club.

He gets along with Koutarou right away, because Koutarou recognizes him from his voice as Mr Mask, and he like, imprints on Inui, which Ryuu finds adorable, and Hayato is lowkey jealous about.

Despite being a little wary of them at first, Inui ends up becoming close with the kids not too long after he joins because his personality is a lot like Taka’s so the kids adopt him as one of their own. Ryuu and Hayato are their big brothers, but Inui is their peer XD

And as time goes on, Inui becomes something of a confidant for Ryuuichi, because he’s the only one who knows about Ryuu’s crush on Hayato. They end up becoming pretty close friends, and Hayato starts getting more and more jealous.

Until finally, one day, Hayato at last realizes what his feelings mean and that he might, actually, have a crush on his best friend?

He decides to confess the next chance he gets, because Hayato has always been the proactive type of guy. Inui just happens to be there when Hayato confesses.

And Ryuu is…happy when he hears the confession. His heart is fluttering and his cheeks are red, and he’s so relieved that his feelings are returned, but then he looks over at his new friend, at Inui, and he feels his heart waver.

Because Inui has become so dear to him recently - he’s been there to support Ryuu in his crush on Hayato, and he never once complained about it even though he had a crush on Ryuuichi too.

And actually…the decision is a lot harder than Ryuuichi had ever thought it would be? Because he still likes Hayato so much it hurts, but he can’t just turn his back on sweet, clumsy, Inui-senpai.

So he breaks down crying, because, “I’m so selfish. I like both of you. I can’t choose.”

Inui is surprised, because he’d honestly never expected for Ryuu to come to like him back. He’d just wanted to be a good friend to the boy he liked, that’s all.

He and Hayato share a glance, and come to an uneasy truce.

“You don’t have to choose,” Hayato tells him gently, and as Ryuu looks over at him in confusion, he suggests polyamory.

Ryuu is a little hesitant at first, worried about if the two of them are okay with him dating both of them at the same time, but Inui and Hayato would do just about anything to keep him happy, and so they all decide to give it a trial run, to see if they’d all be okay with the relationship.

One week, and they’d make their final decisions.

Up until then, Ryuu and Inui hadn’t exactly been hostile towards each other, but they hadn’t exactly been close either. But now that they’d both be Ryuu’s boyfriends, they decide to at least try to build a good relationship. Maybe, if they ended up being at least friends they wouldn’t mind so much about sharing their boyfriend.

But the more Hayato and Inui spend time together, the more they find that they…actually get along pretty well?

Inui actually loves sports, which Hayato is delighted to find out because while Ryuu is awesome in so many ways, he’s not exactly big on sports, so it’s nice to have someone to talk about baseball and stuff with.

Hayato, Inui is surprised to find out, isn’t actually as rude as he’d thought all this time, just…blunt. He doesn’t go out of his way to be mean, he’s actually pretty nice to the people he considers his friends, and his dry sense of humour can be pretty hilarious.

By the end of the trial week, the relationship seems to be going well, so they continue it.

By the end of their second week of dating, Inui notices his heart speeding up whenever Hayato looks at him.

By the end of their third week, Hayato grudgingly admits to himself that maybe Inui is more than a little good-looking, and maybe whenever he and Ryuu are on dates together, he misses Inui’s presence more than he probably should.

By the end of their first month together, Inui and Hayato finally have their first kiss with each other.

Okay after episode 8 I need a crossover episode between How to Keep a Mummy and School Babysitters where the babysitting club learns and has to keep watch over all the supernatural creatures. Also I will pay cold hard cash to see the babies react to said supernatural creatures, especially Isao and Mukumuku (and throw in the galaxy-pants unicorn for good measure).

When Inui finally accepts that he’s a raging bisexual and admits that he has a huge crush on Ryuuichi, he barges into the daycare room, and immediately declares his love to Ryuuichi.

Hayato, who was buried under a pile of toddlers until then, looks up at Inui with a fierce glare and moves to stand in front of Ryuuichi.

“Too bad, he’s my boy friend already,” he growls.

“How stupid do you think I am?” demands Inui. “There’s no way I’m falling for that trick again!”

Ryuuichi, looking sheepish, chimes in with, “Haha, actually…it’s kinda true this time.”

Usaida and the kids all confirm the claim, but Inui still doesn’t believe them so finally Hayato just turns right around and kisses Ryuuichi right on the lips.

The kids all shriek and turn away, yelling about how gross Haya-nii is, and run over to push him away from their Ryuu-nii.

Hayato is grumbling about “what’s so wrong about kissing my own boyfriend, you stupid brats? Leave me alone!”

Ryuuichi, despite his face being bright red, is trying to convince the kids that it’s alright, and they shouldn’t be attacking Hayato.

Inui is standing in the doorway, frozen stiff, his heart shattered into a million pieces on the ground.

Usaida starts to get a little creeped out about how he’s staring, so he gets up, gently nudges Inui out, and closes the door in his face.

I LOVE IT SO MUCH??!

Thanks to the amazing and fabulous @bards-against-hoomanity who singlehandetly keeps all gakuen babysitters fans happy and breathing with her fanfics, i got really really inspired and actually was able to finnish a digital fan art for once. 

Her HayaRyuu dance!AU was amazing and i loved it so much!! I played around with their outfits, i hope you don’t mind… ^^

I’ve wanted to draw them for quite some time now (since i was always gone for this manga (and this ship), and now with the anime release, it’s even better, because more people get to know it now :3), but it never lead to anything i liked (also, i’m so fucking busy these days with college aplications and whatnot), but i was so happy reading this fanfiction, i got so motivated, i drew this in one sitting… I actually wanted to do more, but i was just way too tired to get any more done.

When i’m less all over the place in my life, i’d really like to draw some more fanfic scenes, like Ryuu in a Unicorn shirt, it’d be so adorable! :3
