Nothing, just found that the Yellow Paper in lm 2012 dropped the c in empêchement.
Also, about the target place - according to the plot it should have been Pontarlier but written Grenoble? (at least it seems like
Another issue is about Faverolles: if to Google one can find many Faverolles in France but WHICH ONE? In lm 2012 it is Faverolles of Aisne (as is written), however it should be Faverolles d'Eure-et-Loir, referring to:
In the official cite of the latter Faverolles there is also an article:
Like seriously, if we think about Valjean’s huge, strong hands that appear eerily out of nowhere at some moments in the book, make it impossible for Cosette not to be afraid of him.. However Hugo says she wasn't afraid tho lol.
i watched the 25th anniversary concert within a day of rewatching 2012 les mis and if you ever want to get a good understanding of just how bad the music is in the movie i'd HIGHLY recommend comparing the two like this. the voice cracks, the sing-talking, the whispering, the wrong notes, all of these peculiarities from the film fall into sharp relief against the absolute masterful singing from the concert (minus nick jonas but tbh imho his performance is actually better than crowe's or jackman's bc at least he hits the right notes and doesn't sound like he's on death's door). if you don't have the desire to rewatch the movie but still want to explore the topic of its failures in depth, sideways made a great video essay on the topic that i'd highly recommend if you want to understand how truly bafflingly bad the movie's music is!
it's embarrassing enough that i got so emotional over lm2012 last night but what's even worse is that i feel Worse now. i thought waking up at 4 am feeling physically sick over a movie was only reserved for Really Good Stuff but apparently not
me: i’m honestly not that into aa6 like all the writing isn’t as good and i’m not as invested in the characters and–
aa6: [has a revolution subplot]
me, a simple idiot who was raised on les mis during my formative years, openly sobbing: wow....,,truly the greatest art of our time.........t&t WHO your favorite aa title could never..........i hope datz are’bal knows i wld die for him in a heartbeat
if you’re wondering why sudden les mis reblogs the boys and i watched lm2012 expecting to goof on it but instead i just remembered it’s an extremely good novel and musical
sooooooo annoyed with myself for misplacing my lm2012 cinematography notes. i know they're around here somewhere and it's driving me nuts! i haven't decided if i'm going to make a video on it or just write up a post but my GOD is it worthy of a novel or an hours long video dedicated to just how weird it is!! everyone (understandably) shits on the bad music bc it's a MUSICal first and foremost, and i'm a huge fan of the video essay by sideways dissecting just how bad the score is, but rarely do i see anyone talk abt how bad the cinematography is as well!! it's claustrophobic!!! the dutch angles are so overused to the point of being meaningless!! the framing is straight up bad in some shots and during hathaway's big moment she's not even always in focus!!! what the actual fuck were they THINKING for the bridge scene!!!!!!! i have like eight or so full pages of commentary on every notable shot in the movie and holy hell did it give me an appreciation for how fucking bonkers some of the shots are!!!!!
"I'll be father and mother to you" Bigender Valjean tho???? (Cosette growing up and shaking her head bc valjean never learned how to dress herself well/never rly did and helpin out)
