Decided to add another chapter You And Me And The Devil Make Three. Here's a little teaser:
The bright, yellow beam of sun that shone through the gap in the curtains of their window had Lochlan's heavy eyes squinting under its light. He grimaced, - his nose scrunching up in displeasure as he sat up on his elbows to look around the room.
Saxon was awake already. His bed was empty and Lochy rubbed at his eyes, feeling disappointment settle in his chest at the sight of it.
He sat up and squeezed at the back of his neck - thoughts of his jerk session with Saxon swirling in his head before the sound of the bathroom door opening startled him out of his stupor.
Saxon walked out in nothing but a towel, a cloud of steam trailing behind him as he walked towards Lochy's bed - skin wet and glistening, his damp hair falling in his eyes. He was so fucking gorgeous, Lochy thought he might die. Just turn to dust and fall between the cracks in their floor.
Lochy just stared at him, frozen in place, just like he was last night until his brother's hand came down around the top of his head and ruffled his curls.
“Morning, little bro.” Saxon winked at Lochy and walked off to grab a pair of boxer briefs from the nightstand between their beds.
“Morning.” Lochy squeaked, watching helplessly as his big brother untied the towel around his hips, and let it fall in a pool around his feet.
Lochlan didn't blink. He watched every movement Saxon made. Watched him slip each foot into his boxers and tug them up his muscular thighs until their elastic popped just above his pubic bone.
Saxon didn't seem to mind the staring this time either. He just picked his towel up off the floor and threw it into their hamper without a second thought.
It had to have been on purpose. There was just no way this was not a calculated move. Not after what happened last night.
Lochy gulped. “I slept really good last night.” He said dumbly, wanting to drop a hint that he enjoyed himself. That he was open to doing it again.
Saxon sat down on his own bed, seemingly nonchalant and flashed a sharp grin. “Yeah?” His grin stayed in place while he rummaged through their drawer for an undershirt. “Good. I'm glad. I did too.” Saxon smiled again but it was different this time. There was something behind his eyes. Something knowing. And Lochy felt like he might burst.

Scottish Highlands I
Tumblr media
We returned to Edinburgh ready and excited for our journey into the Scottish Highlands. Edinburgh is truly a special place - it felt just as new our second time visiting as it did the first. Wandering around, with the view of Edinburgh Castle always above us, I felt at home in the city. As a hint to what our journey would be like, our night in Edinburgh was amazing - we even made friends at our hostel.

Our ascent into the highlands was almost mystical. As we departed Edinburgh early in the morning on our Rabbies tour, led by the wonderful Dave, a native Glaswegian with a killer sense of humor and deep historical knowledge (he was a history major at the University of Edinburgh), we journeyed north. Along the way, Dave discussed various components of Scottish history as we passed notable landmarks, including Stirling Castle (think William Wallace) and various other battle sites associated with his struggle against Edward II. As we made our first stop at the scenic Loch Lubnaig, I got to know Dave and other members of our trip. There were three people also from Cleveland (one happens to live in the town over from me), an Australian, a Kiwi, two Canadians, four people from Hong Kong, and a mother and a daughter from Russia. As Dave and I discussed US Basketball (he’s a fan of the Orlando Magic), I found myself extremely content and incredibly happy with the choice I had made for my fall break. Only a few hours into our trip, and Matt and I agreed that this was the best money we had ever spent.

Stunning view after stunning view dominated our drive, as we ventured further and further into the Highlands. It felt like we were in another world, some scenic, jaw-dropping landscape. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before. As Dave continued to describe the various sites we were seeing, and discussing Scottish history as well - including the infamous Massacre at Glencoe - I noticed that the MacDonald clan (my clan through my grandmother) seemed to dominate the narrative. In that regard, our trip became a means for me to learn about a side of my heritage that I did not know a lot about. This made an already special trip even more special.

By the time we arrived at the Isle of Skye, I was exhausted. An entire day of travelling and story-telling had left me devoid of energy. As we settled into our cozy hostel in the sleepy, but lovely town of Portree. We quickly at dinner in a quaint cafe, taking in our new surroundings - including the fact that Scottish Gaelic was written almost everywhere (it is largely spoken in the Highlands and Isle of Skye). As I drifted off to sleep back at the hostel, I found myself thinking about the day’s travels. One particular story told to us by Dave, the Battle of the Shirts by Loch Lochy played in my mind as I drifted off to sleep, ready for our next day of traveling....
