Excerpt:

Lochy watches Saxon reach over to the nightstand to grab a cigarette. Watches him slip it between his pretty, pink lips while he flicks the flint of his lighter with a sharp, metallic clank.

Saxon’s carved, prominent cheeks hollow and he holds the flame up to the very end of the cigarette, inhaling deep as soon as the cherry glows that hot shade of orange.

When he’s done, he holds the cigarette to Lochy's lips, and Lochy takes a nice, deep drag, savoring the feel of that cool smoke filling his lungs.

Sharing a cigarette after sex is almost better than the sex itself. It's ritualistic. A way to soften the comedown, and Lochy absolutely loves it when Saxon hand feeds it to him like this.

“You remember the first time you fucked me?” Lochy asks, blinking up at Saxon as he watches him take another slow drag.

Alright, y'all. Here's chapter one of the serial killer au I've been talking about. Be mindful of the tags, and don't hate me.

I'm very sorry I'm like this.

Summary:

(Serial killer au where Lochy becomes Saxon's accomplice during his murderous home invasions.)

Lochy can't remember when or why he even started smoking. Hell, he doesn't even know where Saxon ends and he begins anymore.

More often than not, it feels like they're one. Melded together in a heap of fleshy codependency.

He used to hate these nights with Saxon. When his brother's monster got hungry and wanted to feast. When Lochy had to drop everything and pick up a shotgun. Put on his steel toed boots and carry a duffle bag full of rope, knives and bleach down to the car.

Now he's starting to like it a little. Not the killing so much as the thrill these home invasions give him. The anticipation of it. The way his stomach twists and his heart picks up speed right before they walk up to the door.

It's starting to grow on him. He feels it now as he and Saxon sit in their car outside their target’s house.

Falling down the Beach Boys rabbit hole, is quite a journey.

It's always interesting when you meet people who aren't that into classic pop or general music history/lore who just know the Beach Boys for their early, easy-listening surf hits that boomer dads who are super into going to the beach or classic cars love.... because in fact the band has one of THE wildest sagas in the history of popular music. Everything that happened with Brian Wilson and Smile. The frothing rage you can inspire in not just members of the band's own fandom but basically any Serious Music Fan (TM) by uttering the name "Mike Love." The Charles Manson connection. It's just so much weird shit. Some of y'all just really have no fucking idea what your dad's favorite band to listen to on his yacht was really up to, but what a wild ride you're in for if you ever find out

Just thought I'd share a little snippet of this Saxloch serial killer au. Enjoy. Or don't. Idk.

Lochy steps over the woman. She's squirming on the floor, her arms bound painfully tight behind her back. He can see the red marks on her wrists.

She's crying softly. The tears stream so gently down her face, leaving a light trail of black mascara in their wake.

Lochy squats down beside her and swipes the pad of his thumb along her cheekbone. She's beautiful, her bone high and sharp underneath his touch, her tears impossibly hot.

He's grown pretty cold to all of this, but sometimes he feels sorry for their victims still. Certain ones. This one in particular. There's something soft about her. Something motherly that he can sense. A warmth behind her eyes.

“My brother likes to take his time.” Lochy shakes his head. “Sorry about that. It’ll be over soon. I promise.”

She whimpers and her tears flow faster now.

Lochy can hear Saxon’s footsteps coming up from behind him, the heavy thud of his boots knocking on the hardwood floor with every step.

“See you two have bonded a little.” Saxon blinks down at both of them, smirking with amusement.

He pulls a hunting knife from his front pocket and holds it out for Lochy to grab and Lochy does, just like the good boy that he is.

“Why don't *you* do her.”

Lochy gazes up at him through a thicket of dark lashes. “Now?”

“Whenever you think the time is right.” Saxon nods down at him, his shotgun perched across his stomach, fingers drumming along the receiver as he takes a step backwards to give Lochy room to work.

I don't want Saxon to change. He is perfect as he is! Maybe you don't see it but I do. And so does Lochy. The only character development he should get is to start accepting gay incest and have actual sex with his brother. He can even go "no homo" and rationalize that it's not gay somehow, if bisexuality is too woke for him.

Lochy takes up modeling ( and acting) when in college and the Ratliff family isn’t impressed. Saxon is massively annoyed.

Lochy has a boyfriend ( I know many fics done like this already, still I am not getting the darker ones I am craving. No disrespect to writes who have already explored it)

Lochy truly checks out. He drops it, and turns his back on the family forever.

Piper knows- she figures things out bit by bit.

Saxon isn’t really changed, he goes back to his old ways.

I'm always wanting to explore Piper or Victoria finding out, and most likely will explore that soon.

Been thinking a lot about that last one too. A lot of room for angst there, because Saxon would feel the need to take Lochy under his wing, but their relationship is already so damaged.

If you have any further thoughts about any of them, I would love to hear more.

We always write about Lochy pining for Saxon (which is understandable, because it's literally canon, and wonderful. I love it. I truly do), but imagine Saxon pining for Lochy.

Nothing is subconscious. He knows he has romantic feelings for Lochy. All those touches and longing looks we see throughout the show (particularly in episode four) are a manifestation of his pining.

He really was trying to initiate something with Lochy their first night at the hotel. He was testing the waters, and even though Lochy seemed receptive (staring at him in the bathroom), it wasn't quite enough to give Saxon the courage to flat out proposition him.

Would really like to explore this and will probably write it out in the very near future.

Saxon pining for Lochy is underrated.
