Growing up in NYC was a blessing and a curse for Vaughn Matthias. As such a big city, there was a plethora of opportunities for him growing up. However, it was also the city that almost tore his life apart.

Being lucky to have two parents that love one another as well as their children, the family relationships he had with his loved ones was strong. But the financial issues they faced cracked them, threatened to tear them apart.

His father was a writer for a local magazine, nothing that really brought in enough money. His mother stayed at home taking care of the kids while working night shifts at the 24 hour diner down the road from their shabby apartment. Both of these incomes not being enough to support the expensive lifestyle that resides in NYC, Vaughn worked as soon as he turned 14 and hasn’t stopped since then. With several jobs as well as helping take care of his beloved younger, spunkier, and smarter little sister, his hands were tied. And, not having the money to move to a state where the living is a little cheaper, he’s been stuck working his ass off.

Despite being one of the sweetest and fun-loving, big-hearted hunk of loves you will ever meet, Vaughn inherited his grandmother’s anger management issues and mild bipolar disorder. Unfortunately, when things were getting out of hand or life was throwing obstacle after obstacle at his feet, he’d let his demons get the best of him. Suddenly, his true self transformed into an alternative version, where he gets into street fights over the tiniest of things, loses jobs left and right, breaks up relationships and friendships with the people in his life. And, not having the money to afford medication, the better-than-nothing therapy hardly helped his case.

Therefore, a lot of his childhood was work, fight, survive. Not that there weren’t wonderful moments in between- his sister as his best friend and the few close friends as well as many acquaintances he did acquire from his charismatic personality made his life worth living. So he fought and fought and fought for the next moment he could listen to music with his eyes gently closed or a nice dinner with his family stress-free.

Having been skateboarding since he was a little boy, Vaughn used that as his escape. Next to his love for music and sketching once in a while, he used his passions to help suppress the things that made his world darker.

Despite the rougher side of town he lived on and the not-so-perfect household and family life he had, it was rather difficult to say goodbye to the people he’d been working so hard for when college came around. Because how could he work for himself now when all he’s ever done was work for the ones he loves?

However, he did fit well into this new world college offered him. With his passionate and adventurous personality, life became a little bit brighter. He still suffers from his disorders and from time to time he lets it get to him, but the biggest blessing he has ever had was that acceptance letter to Lockwood.

With a passion for music production and recording, Vaughn hopes to be a music producer and/or roadie for the rock bands he’s grown up loving like best friends.

He’s a big nerd for old school video games, movies, and music. He likes a lot of old school classics and that reflects in his style and how he presents himself.

He’s… a bit of a stoner since that’s what he was around a lot growing up with friends who skated and also it suppressed his anger.

Vaughn has a heart of GOLD but if he’s going through a tougher time, his demons come out and it gets…. very bad. He did do a lot of street fighting after all and he’s not proud of it.

At the end of every day he calls his little sister or at least texts her (she’s in high school still)

Unless if he really doesn’t get along with someone, Vaughn will bug and bother and annoy everyone until they crack a smile at him or at least like him. He’s got a weird thing with people where he loves their company and he loves the attention (most of the time) but he just can’t stand it if someone simply doesn’t like him. He has had enemies though.

He isn’t the absolute Best student, so whenever he needs to make the grade he usually has to work twice as hard as his fellow peers. Also, he usually doesn’t have any motivation unless it has to do with his major.

He falls in love… so easily. With everything. He has so much love to give and share so it’s rather upsetting for him to go through an episode where he transforms into that “other” Vaughn.

viridian is the daughter of a politician and his wife. surprisingly, he father is actually pretty chill. he’s a democratic senator. viri is an only child who grew up in seattle, washington. from a young age, she was practically raised a princess, but her parents quickly found out that she hated the norms of little girls her age. unsurprisingly, green was her favorite color. she was loved as a child, practically smothered in love and attention.

when viri was nine, she and her mother got into a really bad car accident. her mother died instantly, but viri managed to survive. a piece of shrapnel from the car lodged directly into her ear, causing her to go deaf in her one ear. it took her a long time to recover from the rest of the injuries, but by then her mother had already been buried. devastated, viri and her father both went into a depressive state. 

luckily, after a few years, the two of them got back on their feet with a new norm. viridian was sent to a boarding school for high school. she already knew she loved being outside and loved science, so it wasn’t a far fetch for her to begin thinking of a career in paleontology, as she loved dinosaurs growing up. 

surprise came her junior year when her father had met someone and gotten engaged. while her new step-mom-to-be was friendly enough, she had two children who automatically didn’t like her the moment they met. obviously sensing that she was daddy’s little girl. while they never did anything over the top, they did slide snide comments into conversation whenever viri was around. she did her best to ignore them however, choosing instead to be friendly. 

viri graduated in the top of her 1% class and had been accepted into lockwood. she was excited to go off to college, even though it would be an adjustment. new york was very far away from washington state and even her high school had been located in the same state as her father. however, she did adjust quickly. she’ll be a sophomore in the fall.

personality wise, viri is very kind to most people. she can be a bit spoiled and sometimes she does come off as an airhead, but she is far from. she prefers to be happy and see the best in situations. she plays video games and talks nonstop about dinosaurs. she’s a nerd through and through. however, she’s also down for a good party every now and then. she loves dancing and having fun just as much as anyone. viri tends to be one of those people that gets along with most people. she is deaf in her left ear, so sometimes she does have trouble talking to people if they’re standing on that side of her. she never ignores anyone on purpose. viri over does emojis in her texts.

tw: miscarriage when seth was a little sprout, his parents were deemed unfit to raise him, so the eldridge family adopted him. debbie eldridge had recently suffered a miscarriage, so the baby boy looked like a symbol of hope to her. plus, they’re christian, so it was kind of ironic that he was named seth bc that’s the name of the baby adam and eve had after cain killed abel, idk.

so, he grew up in this small, conservative texan town with his mother debbie, his father frank, and his older sister abby. his mother taught elementary school and was the picture of encouragement, positivity, and vivacity. you got a shitty drawing? it’s going to be drowned in compliments and put on the fridge. his father was almost like debbie’s polar opposite. he was quiet, kinda broody, had obnoxious muttonchops, occasionally verbally abusive. they seem like an odd couple from the outside. as for the siblings, abby and seth’s relationship growing up was a bit strained due to a sizable age gap, but he loves her and his niece very much.

tw: murder; alcoholism: he did some digging about his birth parents behind his parents’ backs and realized why they weren’t too keen to tell him about them. his birth father was in prison for going on a random killing spree and his birth mother succumbed to alcoholism a few years after he was adopted. he felt physically sick when he found out.

growing up, seth was chubby and naturally sensitive, so he faced some bullying, which still affects his self-esteem today. he’s also struggled with depression for as long as he can remember, which obviously doesn’t help.

he lost the weight by joining the swim team his senior year of high school and still swims competitively at lockwood. he’s also pretty into music and can play guitar and ukulele. he can sing a little, but he'd describe his voice as far from amazing.

his main passion is psychology, and his dream job is to become a therapist and make a difference. partially due to his own struggles with mental illness, his fascination with the subject, and a latent desire to repay society for his birth father’s doings. it’s just pretty close to his heart tbh. he also has a tendency to psychoanalyze the shit out of everyone in his head.

personality wise, seth is a beam of light who’s frequently going out of his way to help other people. he’ll give a stranger the clothes off of his back or eat crackers until he gets a paycheck if it means buying a friend a much needed hot meal. he’s selfless to his own detriment.

Hes 22 years old. He was born in Hawaii, spent half his life there before moving to San Francisco, California when he was about 13-14. Thats where he found his love of music

soooo this is wyatt....he was born to a norewigan father and an american mother. the two met when wyatt’s mother was traveling.

wyatt spent the early years of his life in norway which means english really is his second language. he moved back to america with his mother in his teenage years when the relationship between his parents broke down.

his father is a massive asshole,, he’s charming, confident etc but he’s not that nice. he didn’t treat wyatt and his mum well at all. and as you’ll see wyatt has got some of his traits.

him and his mother moved back to america to live with her parents for a bit in his early teens. then they were able to move into a tiny apartment in new york because his mum worked her ass off.

his mum was originally from new york and once they were back in the city,, it got even worse for the boy. 

his mum would bring dumb boyfriends around,, who were just as bad and sometimes worse than his own father. wyatt had to get used to standing up for himself.

although his mum works her butt off,, he still couldn’t afford to go to college outside of new york so he chose lockwood.

he is secretly journalism nerd and loves to write things. he rlly wants to be a journalist or some kind of writer.

but to the outside world he’s a charming fuckboy...just like his dad was. he’s too scared to open up to people. he messes with people because that’s all he knows. 

he’s very pansexual....but he hasn’t slept with many men and finds girls easier to sleep with & fuck around with. he’s a bit shyer around boys.

as a result he grew up around a lot of creative n sometimes pretentious ppl. the friends of his parents were more present in his life than his ACTUAL parents bc they were always jetting off to diff countries to scout out new pieces fr their galleries n just have a gd time in beautiful places without…. the annoyance tht ws their son forcing them to b responsible n look after someone else. tbh some of his parents friends were rly damaging too bt….i won’t go into that just yet. it doesn’t rly…need properly explaining bc jude never talks abt it anyway n it….is rather triggering so i’ll jst….leav it for now tbh fgkhdfgh. basically they just were Not Nice n jude had a lot of bad memories he keeps repressed

bc of how he ws raised he has a p cultured taste. he luvs classic lit, especially kerouac, n p much anything artsy. he can play piano 2 n sometimes gets rly high n thinks he’s mozart level gd at composing. i mean he’s gd bt… Calm Down Jude

originally already from manhattan, mateo grew up w his mom and dad who, in his humble opinion, should have never been together in the first place

he’s pretty well off, his mom came from old money and his dad was a pretty big politician so he also had new money

his dad used to run political campaigns n was rly good at wht he did, so good tht someone suggested he get into the political campaigns himself n wht do u kno he WAS rly good at it

however he was only a part of the real political scene for about 6 months or something when he died from a sudden heart attack, doctors suggested it was brought on due to stress

even tho his dad wasn’t rly the best father figure, mateo still looked up to him and he took his death REALLY hard

he was never............. the nicest and most respectful child as it was, but as soon as his dad died he spiraled

bc of his dad’s lowkey c list ‘celebrity status’ in the new york scene, mateo ended up on the front of a LOT of trashy tabloids during his rly bad depressive spiral

he wld go to parties every night and wound up in the hospital after a lot of them bc he’d end up black out and passing out from alcohol alone, doctors also found a dangerous amount of coke in his system

after his fourth day in a row finding himself in the hospital, doctors forcefully sent him to rehab with his mother’s consent

she honestly was never close to mateo and wanted to live a Life of Luxury and she thought having a kid would ruin that, so now that he was causing such a Scene she truly couldn’t stand to be associated with him and she thought sending him to rehab was like. a permanent solution

afterwards mateo told her he’d focus on his studies but lo and behold he still............. dabbles in the party community and goes Way Too Hard on most days

personality wise, mateo was always a bit rough around the edges just bc of the way he was raised, but after his father died it was x 10

now he’s that asshole who actually enjoys pushing people to their limits cause he can, gets into a LOT of fights just to Feel Alive, very Classique u cld say

honestly the most loyal mamajama when u get close to him tho, he rly does his best to mean well and he thinks he always does but he just Doesn’t
