Sorry for kinda springing this on you but any idea what happened to the author of roll with the punches? greateschange?

I was following their series and noticed that their tumblr has been deactivated and they haven't updated in a long while

Um, I really know close to nothing about what's currently going on with @greateschange right now. I didn't even know her tumblr got deactivated😮

Last thing I knew (like months ago) she was deleting stuff from her twitter, I think? and focusing primarily on working on a novel and get it published…but even there she's not active anymore, not sure if it's a permanent thing or temporary, sorry.

What I do know is that she doesn't plan on leaving RWTP unfinished (thank the gods!) the latest update it got was last month - the first chapter of part 12 (an undefined multichapter) of the story with more focus on Korra, since the previous part was titled Asami Alone and centered around her.

I trust the series will continue eventually, although I'm unaware when that will be.

I'd honestly be content with at least some updates every now and then on Afterwards, which is a collection of snippets with no chronological order, so…

I wouldn't panic about RWTP not continuing, but I would be REALLY patient if I were you. I hope that helped.

And if anyone reading this knows anything about @greateschange current activities, please let them know her story got some undying followers willing to wait whatever it takes to see it continue, whenever that may be😊

Aw, thanks^^ But I can't take that credit (never have, never will). It's not me who 'brings' the Korrasami art, it's the artists - whom I always tag first in my reblogs 😁

But see? this is why rebloging/sharing is so important, to spread others' talent and make it seen by more people that like it as well. And to credit the right source is equally important so - as much as I aprecciate the compliment (at least, I take it as such) - please, let the real creators know how much you like and appreciate their work.

Okay anon, you asked for it! Long answer ahead because you just asked about my favs and I'm such a broken record about'em!

Also, I apologize in advance because this is going to look like fic recs and I don't know if you asked for that, specifically. But these ARE, indeed, some of my most favorite korrasami works (as for as fanfiction is concerned lol)

From the top of my head this are the ones I can't stop reading (a.k.a. I've read more than once)

It goes without saying, lanagotconed20's Road Trip series is at the top of that list. Specifically, I remember part 9 , 'All In, All Yours' being one I almost know by heart💘 but seriously, you can't go wrong with ANY of Lana's stories. They're all fantastic, and I actually did a ranking of her works to date (the complete ones, at least) a few months back, here

@hohfics Marriage or Bust has 2 complete works (same universe different paths) and damn, what masterpieces!🤩

I couldn't possibly decide between them because both are incredibly well written and convey so much emotion! Plus, there's moments on both stories that get your heart racing (either because of how intensely romantic or frightening they are) But from the two I have to give a shoutout to 'The Honeymooners' for being the very first Korrasami fic I ever read - a really high bar that I'm elated to know has been met by many great authors!

ireallyshouldnt_behere's 'Would you risk it ALL?' is a doctor au, with Korra being a cancer patient and it's fine if you're not into that but, just so you know, amongst the medical drama aspect of it there's many fun and heart warming moments and quite the satisfying ending - well, technically not an ending since is the first part of a series, but it's not complete, and the second part hadn't hooked me as much as this one. But the author has other korrasami works you may want to check out 😉

The Seeking Balance trilogy by @simplykorra is the best canon-divergence fic I've read! The way Korra's struggles and traumas are depicted through these stories (specially, the first two parts is MIND. BLOWING. and though I couldn't recommend one story more than the others (the journey is best experienced from start to finish), there's something so heart wrenching about the second part, 'Relapse' (as if the tittle didn't pull you in deeply enough) that just makes me point it out - if only to read Korra's parting letter to Asami at the end of that story. It squeezes my heart every time I read it and I can only imagine Asami's anger, sadness and fear as she reads it.

This is without a doubt my favorite 'what if' korrasami fic and I can't thank the author enough for the way it turned out! 😄👏

Last, but not least, my latest discovery/obsession is *drum rolls* @greatestchange Roll with the Punches series, it isn't complete (yet) but there's tons of top-notch content amongst the 10 works it has written by now. It is my latest reading and it easily skyrocketed to the top of my fav korrasami works, I'm still in shock!🤯

But this series comes with a *warning sign* as it is the most painful, intense, gut-punching stuff I've ever read. Some of these works, e.g the main tittled story, and the ones I'm about to be mentioned are basically "angst turned up to 11".

I gave a brief description of my experience reading that one here, if you want better understand what I think/feel about it (my opinion holds up to this day!) plus, you can check out my rwtp tag for some really good art and a few highlighted passages of certain chapters that got to me very deeply.

One tip though, I can't recommend enough that you read the main RWTP first before reading certain other works, namely 'Senna', 'Nebraska', 'The Offer', 'Family Reunion' and 'Shattered' (all in that order).

But in case you want to read some of the 'lighter' ones (and I use that word loosely because they're all intense in some way or another), some I really enjoyed reading, besides the unskippable ones are 'Say You'll Be There', 'The Assistant' and 'The Fire Place'(ch. 7 of Afterward, which is a collection of snippets). These latter works are one-shots but give you a good taste of the main story without being the main story.

I know, I know, that's a lot of reading but I really hope you get around to check at least some of these and maybe leave a comment on them. Let the authors know of your thoughts, they all deserve to know how much they're appreciated and a simple 'I love this story/your work' are never small words!

And I should've said this before, but since I don't know how old you are, please check the rating and tags of the stories since there's very mature stuff in there.

Road Trip, I think is the more PG of these literary creations, and by far the one with the most fluff out of these, but honestly - with over 30 works made - it has something to please all kinds of tastes. Though, is not excent of explicit content. But trust me, it's absolutely NOT in bad taste and very organic.

RWTP, I'd say is the extreme opposite with almost zero room for 'fluff' and, by FAR, the most mature series of them all (it deals with lots of heavy topics), but while most of the time you get pain instead of pleasure, the moments you spot the latter are that much, much sweeter, and in my experience they're more than worth it to reach!

And as far as AU's go, those two along with Marriage or Bust, are must-reads for any Korrasami shipper.

If you're looking for 'finished' stories, the first that comes to mind is definitelly "The Honeymooners" and its sister fic "To The Brink" by @hohfics those two are the definition of high quality, long and well developed. 100% worth reading!💯❤️ You’ll find them in AO3

In the same vane as ‘ high quality, long and well developed’, there's the Road Trip series by lanagotconed20!

I seriously can't recommend Lana's work enough!

There's 30+ fics written and most of them complete, but it's an ongoing series so there's plenty to read there. For more info on these works, I recommend you search my 'road trip au' tag - I've done a ranking of the complete ones and a deep dive analysis on Korrasami personality and relationship dynamic based on that au 😁 approved by the author herself no less!

And since this is a fic rec, you can also check the tag “AO3″ because I think the most recent post I left in that tag (minus this one lol) is my answer to another gray face asking me about what other  korrasami fics I like to read^^

You seem to be the closest expert to Where the Snow Takes Us. Without getting too much into it... is it like...a light hearted read?

I've seen your posts about Roll with the Punches, and honestly I'm not sure if my heart could handle all that.

So I'm just asking like. How heavy Where the Snow Take Us goes?

My, 'closest expert' is quite the overstatement, but...thanks? Though, I wouldn't reffer to me as an expert, trust me😅 Mainly because it's been quite a while since I read more than two chaps in a row.

My speaking and recommending of that fic comes from the few chapters that really stuck with me - either because of how vivid they seem by the way they're masterfully written, or 'cause of the mesmerizing depth of the characters' thoughts and emotions.

But one thing I can say is, it is way lighter than RWTP 😄 and quite fun! I definitely recommend it even if it's not finished yet lol...but really, you can always ask the author herself, @asamiontop I think she would love to introduce you to the story😊

I also think @l2bbocsstuff (another big fan of the story) would be a good reviewer you could ask.

And if you want an even fresher insight (don't know how far she's into the story, though) @persnickety-doodles has recently started reading it. I sure would love to know what she thinks of the story so far 😁🤭

No, I haven't. Believe it or not, I haven't read that many different authors😅 But thank you for providing the link to it. That, and seeing is a complete work is really encouraging.

To your question, no, I'm not from the US. I'm born on a spanish-speaking country, actually. I just really love the language since all the media I consume is primarily from North America or English speaking places...that and anime, but I don't speak japaness 😆

Last Song:

I’ve mostly been listening to instrumental music lately but the last song I listened to, is a parody song about the Twilight series of movies called ‘I Hate This Town’ by Gabi Belle (Gabi Balls on Spotify), it’s super catchy, a total banger if you ask me, and the lyrics are hilarious af! 🤣

If you’re in the mood for a laugh, please look it up on Spotify or better yet, watch the end of her video because the song has its own video clip and it’s incredible!

Favorite Color:

Short answer - Blue, Green and Gray.

Long answer - Blue (from #1f75fe to darker shades), most shades of Green, Gray (steel, iron, charcoal) but also, Red, Brown and White. This was one of the hard ones to answer😅

I also love Pink, tho, Amy Rose (all versions of her) is to blame 😛​

Movie - The Boy and The Heron

I went to watched it on my first day of vacation. Coincidentally, it was also my birthday and I invited my mom (she’s not big on going to the movies but luckily she was interested on that one) we had a good time! And had coffee afterwards😊​

Last Show – as a casual watch, an episode of Bull. The last show I watched in a meaningful manner was the 3th Season of Sonic Prime - I don’t watch much tv nowadays, tbh.

Sweet/Savory/Spicy: Ah! I can’t answer this one😩​

It all depends on my mood, really. I love spicy food, savory is great (especially homemade) although, I am picky with sweets - Cholate, Ice Cream and anything Custard Cream are my Gold, Silver and Bronze but the list goes on lol

Shockingly, stuff I’d love to draw, if only I had the skill and wasn’t so scatterbrained, atm *sigh* ‘What Was Stolen’ by Beeextraordinary and video games (I’m on my last week of vacation before I go back to work so, yeah)

I’m currently going back and forth between Sonic Unleashed (for the eighth-ish time) and 2008’s Dead Space (first time ever playing, so far is frightening as heck, yet, fun)

I’m embarrassed to say I don’t remember…mainly because while I love to read, most stuff I’ve read as of late aren't books per se…some articles here and there and tons of wiki entries.

4. Favorite animal? I could easily just put him as the answer, I mean

Appa is the best, I don't think I even need to explain this. But the question doesn't especify from which show so...

Naga not only is my favorite animal exclusive to LOK, she's also the mix of two of my favorite real life animals.

8. Favorite battle? Tough choice!

Both series excel in the fighting department, so in order to not hurt my brain thinking too much (at least for ATLA) I'm gonna go with the fight I think is one of the most fun to watch and that has to be Toph vs all 7 Earth Rumble VI fighters from her debut episode "The Blind Bandit".

I've never been into WWE, except when done in animation and by shows I like, and what a spectacle it is to see Toph face The Boulder & Co. and handing their a$$es to them while sending them flying out of the arena in a flawless victory. It's a real blast!

Favorite battle in LOK: I would say is Korra vs. Kuvira in the series’ finale. Not only is her rematch against the great uniter but this fight represents Korra's true comeback. She may not be the Avatar she was before her battle with Zaheer, but she's overcome the worst of it and now she's stronger than ever.

Aftar everything she's gone through, there's something amazing about the display of her fighting and bending habilities during this fight. She's come a long way and it shows! And while the battle gets interrupted because of the giant mecha exploding, I belive that had they continued the fight outside the metal box, Korra would've had a bigger advantage - and that’s not mentioning the Avatar State, which she only used to protect Kuvira from an energy beam equal to a nuclear explotion that would've easily obliterated her had it not been for Korra's power and skill.

23. Favorite Korra moment? O.O Boy, and I thought 29 was hard to answer. C’mon, I LOVE Korra and watching her do anything, really. Any moment she’s on screen, or page (as long as she’s not suffering in any way, kind or form), is my favorite Korra moment <3

That said, for the sake of the question, I’m gonna have to choose...

Her reunion with Asami in, well, “Reunion” lol

I think we’re all well aware what this moment meant to Asami, who was already in love with Korra at the time (I will die on that hill). But to the Avatar, while not given the proper time to fully let it sink in, I like to think this is the moment where she no longer doubts her romantic feelings for Asami are no illusion or mistake and that she's, in fact, crushing on her best friend 😊 

Not to mention, that look she gives Asami after the hug is such a soft and happy expression, it literally melts my heart! Every. Single. Time.

25. Asami or Korra? In what regard?

As in the better fighter, the prittiest, the smartest, the richest- wait, sorry, there’s no contest in that one lol Just kidding! 😆

I’m gonna go with Asami here. And simply because the entire series revolves around Korra (titular character, duh!) and I couldn’t ask for more of her - actually, I could but that’s not the point. Besides, I know there will be more Korra content eventualy...

I’m not saying I want Asami to be the protagonist of her own series, I like her right where she is, thank you. Even so, she’s the least explored (I even dare say “developed”) member of Team Avatar - the brothers even got their own mini web series, Republic City Hustle, depicting them 3 years prior to the main series - and to this day I’m left wanting to know more about Asami.

There’s bits and pieces told to us about her backstory. Mainly that she lost her mother at a young age and she’s well trained in self defence, but nothing’s ever shown and that’s only concerning her past. But what about her present in the series? Asami, as an individual, is rarely touched upon to the point some people think there’s nothing of substance or importance about her, besides that her money and vehicles get the protagonists to every place they need to be, reducing her to the LOK version of Appa (we all know the memes). They easily forget a lot happens to Asami, and I can’t blame them because the series never takes the time to explain to us how she manages to cope with any of it. It all happens behind the scenes. And I hate to say it but the more I think about it, I find that offencive to her character.

16. Strictly non-romantically speaking, I pretty much like all of his relationships, but my favorite has to be:

Before Daisuke and Ken, there was Taichi and Koushiro. The goggle-head and the boy genius partnered with a dino and insect digimon respectively! Just now I am realising how much my view on their friendship has changed in the last few years, I always liked their partnership but I guess now I like even more(?). Forget Taichi x Yamato, those two are the real Dynamic Duo of Adventure!

Damn, now I want to know what a jogress between Greymon and Kabuterimon would look like 🤔🤔🤔

17. Taiora, at least in my (many) early years as a fan. I was practically obsess, even the epilogue from 02 couldn't stop my shipping brain 😆 Then I matured, and TRI happened! Boy was Taiora a big mess, platonic and non-platonic-wise 🙄. I fell out of love with it so, currently there’s no favorite ‘fanon’ relationship...

Since I never talk about Arcane nobody knows this but - those three are my favorite characters from the series - with some 2nd and 3rd places, but anyway...let's headcanon some Kiramman, shall we?

5. Cassandra is capable of setting Caitlyn up with a male suitor, solely to ensure the Kiramman lineage.

Yeeaah, she's a favorite of mine but she's the 'problematic' fave out of the family😅

Don't worry though, neither daughter or husband would allow such thing! Anything she would try to pull would be automatically shot down.

3. Easy. Tobias is a violin ship- I mean, player! A violin player, yeah...

Well, he's a shipper, too; but that's no headcanon ;)

19. Hm, a dangerous card to play...but I'll keep it short and simple. I'm really crossing my fingers for Caitlyn to have an even larger role in season 2, she's my most favorite characters in the show🤩

I would even fight Vi over her.

11 for Arcane's Jinx!

11. After their clash on the bridge, Ekko would swear Jinx's gone so twisted that she would go to any length to hurt/kill people.

But that wasn't Jinx he was facing (not entirely) but Powder as well, and that bomb rolling out of her grasp wasn't Jinx going as far as to blowing herself up as long as he ended up dead, too. Much like the bizarre mash-up of childish fun and destructive chaos, Is not that she wanted to kill him no matter the cost...

She wanted that happy semblance of the past back. The explosion, in her damaged mind, was to freeze that bittersweet memory in time.

I just came up with all this...hope it was worth you time, gray face^^
