In February 2023 our comm had a meetup to sample several gourmet hot-chocolate beverages offered by local bussinesses during a moth-long festival. I unfortunately had a head cold and was still symptomatic when the day rolled around so I stayed home. I still took photos of the coord I planned to wear for posterity.

Tromped around in Halloween Lolita and frantically traded toys back and forth with the four other femme-centric booths. Between us, we were one another’s biggest customers lmao. We were just there to fund buying other toys, lbr. Every other booth was: Funko Pop, Pokemon Cards and rando He-man-esque and Star Wars action figures. I feel a certain affinity with the four other femme vendors. One was waiting by my booth when I got in first thing. She was so sweet, and another was like “oh, I was so hoping you’d be here this time!” and dropped a bunch in of cash on ~aesthetic plastic~. I did the same.

I gave deep discounts to kids. Fav was two bbs walking away with a Kero-chan purse and a g1 MLP, both having no idea what they had, but I like it that way.

I was all proud of not spending much money yesterday. I failed today. I couldn’t help it. Once upon a time, my roommate gifted me her childhood Eternal Sailor Moon doll. She left it carefully displayed on a shelf to surprise me when she moved out, and I didn’t see it until she was gone. That was so bittersweet, but precious to me. So when I saw the matching Chibi Usa by her lonesome I couldn’t help it. Now Usagi has her bb.

I DID make enough to pay for one flight, so mission accomplished.

Gothic Lolita Jewelry

So, I wanted to put together a quick reference post for some of my favorite indie jewelry makers for gothic lolita fashion. This is by no means an exhaustive list, and feel free to add to it!

So, my main thing with gothic lolita to me is that it's got to have an actual gothic touch. Whether that's victorian or medieval influence, architectural or illustrative prints, or tradgoth inspiration, it's gotta be more than sweet or classic in a black color way (that's what Kuro lolita is for imo). Incorporating jewelery with a truly gothic feel is one of the simpler ways to go here. Think silver, romantic and antique, heavy metals or occult or dark themes. Voodoodolly has some excellent metalwork items that pull that off fantastically. They've also got some fantastic halo crowns and head accessories that could really make an oot gothic coord!

To continue with the metalwork, we've got Martha rotten, who makes some fantastic lead free pewter jewelry with a sort of curiosity cabinet, dark naturalist theme. I'm a big fan of their baby doll headed items for that creepy cute touch. The smaller items allow for a more flexible price point!

For that gothic naturalist aesthetic, silentcheesecake has some excellent jewelry made from natural specimens preserved in wax. Incredibly reasonable prices for the quality and clarity of the specimen. Maybe not as gothic as some, but I think most people would describe wearable dead things as such, no? I would add purgatory playthings on Etsy as another popular choice, but I haven't personally bought anything from them... yet :P

Perfect for those vampire and cathedral prints, neant has some fantastic stained glass jewelry. The coffin rings make for an affordable touch, while the full rosary necklaces add a bit of dimension that could easily become a staple. Follow their instagram though- that's where they post when the next drop will be, and they sell out pretty fast.

Ok, BB and B mostly sells delightful dessert themed items for for the sweeter lolita palette, but I'd be straight lying if I didn't admit to waiting for their Halloween releases. Think cute spooky macarons with eyeballs, witch hats and spider cookies. The perfect synthesis of dark and adorable, not to mention some of those clay creations look genuinely ready for trick or treat snacking

HISTORY BIOGRAPHY: Born a synaesthetic, Lady Charbonneau’s family fretted for her sensitive hearing. Desperate to receive some fragment of respect, Bonbon put herself up for drafting come her eighteenth birthday. The Charbonneau family has a long-standing history of war, benefiting troops through monetary and physical means. One of the elders, Bourbon Charbonneau, fought valiantly as a captain in the Great Turf War hundreds of years ago. Keeping up the legacy, she thought, was her only chance of being her own person.

While every decision has seemingly furthered her depression, she continues on a path already tread in the hopes that such a safe route will bring about some sort of reward, even if it isn’t bountiful. Another option for her, her ability to sing entrancing songs, lies in wait, hoping to be utilized.

Yo I knew it was gonna be a lot but my MIND IS BLOWN!!! So here's the scoop (it's gonna be lengthy bc I'm me duh): I went to Sephora to go to a beauty thing (which I had to sign up with my name and phone number) but I had frequented that location A TON and even though I didn't buy stuff with every visit I'm pretty well known to not be a shoplifter just an enthusiast. I was also there because I had recently shoplifted a palette from another Sephora location but the formula is super soft so one of the shades had an indent and got powder shit all over the palette so I wanted a different one. I couldn't just return it so the plan was purchase one at this location and throw off suspicion that I'd been browsing for like a long ass time and not purchase anything, but then return it later and receive store credit to buy something I couldn't otherwise lift (fragrance or a cool set or something). I asked a lot of questions and was super friendly with the SAs and asked for a sample and I was holding a piece of paper that I got and basically used it to hide my purse stuffing/sleeving/pocketing from cameras or other people. And it worked!! I was feeling super confident and my bag still had room so I hit up a nice drug store that's kinda closeby on my ride home. I was just mostly sleeving or hiding stuff behind my phone and sticking it in my purse to grab something else. I might have been sussed but I'm really good at the slight of hand and I'm pretty confident so it didn't throw me off but it made me more conscious. There was an employee just looking at the merchandise in the cosmetics aisle and I asked her a question about a product and she didn't seem to know about it (bc it was a drugstore not a makeup store) and eventually she ended up helping out another customer. There's a possibility I wasn't sussed it was just her being cautious about a teen girl in the makeup aisle and she was bored or something but idk it's still fkn easy. I ended up buying a lemonade and then going back to the makeup asked and pretending I was just deciding whether or not I wanted to buy a bottle of nail polish and ultimately decided no then left flawlessly. I travelled a bit to get to UO bc I know they have an awesome display of milk makeup and I wanted to get my sticky fingers all over that ish. Awesome fragrances too!! Like basics. I also kinda wanted to browse the clothes for a second. They have these black circle tags? Does anyone know how to remove these? I wanna start lifting clothes I'm in desperate need of a new wardrobe. For some reason I got paranoid and nabbed 2 pieces of clothing and pretended to try them on whole tearing off some of the sticker tags just in case. Then left. One of the perfume oils was actually a tester so I tossed it bc I smelled a little sour. And finally the last store I was just curious and wanted to browse and it was really cute and I wanna lift from there in the future. I only nabbed some pens this time because they were SO CUTE and for some reason I have a sweet spot for stationary (which you'll soon figure out when I post my other hauls). Pens are just easy to sleeve. Couldn't help myself I think I'm addicted. I hope ur looking forward to reading about my criminal adventures in the future. I think my hauls are aesthetic even tho the quality is shit. But I still consider myself a newbie. I want CLOTHES now though.
