“Charity and Volunteering, two importants things…”

Almost a year and a half past, and already so many things lived... This sentence alone sums up the path travelled, between professional experiences and courses is now added during our semester in London "volunteering". 1 semester in London, 30 hours of volunteering for charity and unique moments... My volunteering, my charity…

First, the place I chose: the Ahoy Center.   

At the edge of the Thames, in the Greenwich district and this very close to the school, this centre is ideally placed. It focuses on the maintenance of boats to offer many opportunities, be it trips on the Thames, or professional opportunities, to disadvantaged children and teenagers or from sensitive neighbourhoods. 

But now, why this choice ?   

Well, there are several factors: first of all, the field, sport. Although this is not in sports practice, it is still in the water sports with the maintenance of the boats or elements used for the construction of the latter. There is also the fact that it was our school that offered this charity, aside from this opportunity I hastened to walk in many charities for Pouvor to help, and figure that The Ahoy Center answered me first. What more could you ask for ? Another factor, that of the proximity of the school as well as of my home, you like me you doubt that it is better to be close to his place of work, so it is done with just 20 minutes of transport.  The fact that this is a totally unknown sector for me also pushed me to take the step, and yes, "it takes little to be happy" as they say no ? I could have just done my charity hours in the sale for a good cause or in an area in which I had a minimum of skills, off I made the choice to discover something else, to make the most of my experience in London.

My choice, what about now that I have committed?

To tell the truth, I have no regrets, because I meet new people, and I take part in a very nice team that works in a good mood and without any pressure. In addition to discovering a new sector, I work in very good conditions and I take advantage of my colleagues.

A semester in London What's more for me my first time in England, many professional experiences on London, and participation in a charity, what more before returning to our "good old territory" ? I don’t know…
