Some Daphne (and Fall of Domino) headcanons for the sake of my own little 'verse.
I'm fairly certain that canonically, the Fall of Domino happened around twenty years before the start of the series, but I'm stretching it to one thousand.
I fully accept the version where she was originally a redhead (thank you @butterfly-winx)
She - and all Dominians - has slit pupils and pointy ears
She's very decisive and proactive, as well as protective of everyone who has earned her loyalty.
She has an ambitious streak that surprises everyone, herself included.
Magic nerd ❤️
She's always snacking on flowers of Dominian origin, called dragonhearts.
Her role as a Princess and Keeper or the Dragon Flame has been drilled into her from birth to the point where she barely has a sense of individual identity. This wasn't out of malice but the culture she grew up in.
Her parents, being warriors and guardians themselves, taught her to defend herself from a young age
She doesn't aim for nymphdom intentionally at the beginning. Instead, she starts studying in Magix as a way to find an identity outside of Domino and the Dragon Flame, as well as get out from under her famous parents' shadow.
This is when she meets Politea and the two become best friends. Politea does not betray Daphne.
Nymphs in my verse are creators of new magic. Every power source you see in the show was first created by a nymph, and this usually takes several years. Daphne is very innovative when it comes to magic, and that is the quality that makes her reach nymph status so fast. Daphne's quest is very much a journey of self discovery.
She's loyal to Domino first, but Magix becomes like a second home to her.
Her relationship with her parents becomes stronger after she's had some time to grow into herself. It's even stronger after her (their?) resurrection, with Marion especially. They bond over their shared experience of not having physical bodies.
Domino and Tir Nan Og are political allies. Daphne meets Princess Morgana during a meeting, and the two become friends. This is what informs Daphne's decision to send Bloom to Earth. Daphne doesn't know that the Earth Fairies are under attack too.
Bloom arrives safely to Morgana, but by that time the former Fairy Queen and most of her court is dead, having been killed in a fast and coordinated attack by the Black Circle. This is the beginning of their fairy hunt.
Morgana seals Bloom and her own newborn child in stasis.
After Domino's destruction, Daphne grows to resent the Dragon Flame. What good is a power that makes people targets and fails when it's needed the most?
She's secretly glad for its loss, but she feels guilty about it.
Every time Bloom is in danger, Daphne blames herself. Even though she doesn't want the Flame back, she would take it if it meant keeping Bloom safe.
She sleeps through most of her time as a spirit, but there are times when she's awake and can use small amounts of magic. She uses these moments to return to Domino and try to restore at least some areas.
She suffers from fatigue post resurrection. It comes and goes. Most of her time is spent with a cane or in a wheelchair. This ensures that when she wants to walk, to run, to dance or swim, she has the energy to do so.
Most importantly, she gets all the happiness in the world eventually!
