assigning my favorite music albums to the main cast of "nevermore": part one.
lenore — "viertel vor irgendwas" by betterov.
it touches on themes of loneliness, isolation, feeling out of place, scared and lost. but there's also hope, an urge to change as a person and, of course, love. the music is very beautiful too, I'm imagining lenore sitting at the rooftop and listening to "nacht".
duke — "bunka" by eve.
I decided that this pop-rock album could reflect his mischievous nature. some songs are a bit circus-coded, if that makes sense, the others are more chill with a comforting flair to them.
pluto — "the birds outside sang" by florist.
this album never fails to break my heart. the melodies are light, but strong. the songs use simple, every day imagery, but it's impossible not to feel how much emotion and trauma is hidden between the lines. take "1914", for example: "please remember to feed the cat, please remember that I'm never coming back". ugh.
morella — "flip that" by loona.
I relate to this character in some ways, so I think we could share the same favorite group. but while I'm more of a [xx] girl myself, something refreshing and cute like [fl!p that] would suit morella perfectly. I can picture her enjoying "pale blue dot" very clearly.
eulalie — "ad mare" by nmixx.
even I disliked this album at first, but it grew on me a lot, and I just know that eulalie gets it too! and appreciates experiments in music! she seems like a real enjoyer of bizarre noisy pop.
berenice — "совершенный пустяк" ("sovershenniy pustyak") by нежное это (nezhnoe eto).
she's a bit of an enigma for me, so it may sound like a strange choice. the songs there are chill and cheerful, but often touch on some pretty dark themes, creating a puzzling contrast. that's probably something berenice could like.
note: I wasn't aiming for 100% accuracy, just choosing the albums that I actually love, listen to (no skips!) and heavily recommend. it's all purely based on vibes that I get from the characters.
