LPU Badminton Player to participate in 31st World University Games 2021 in China

LPU’s post-graduation student, a badminton player Hardik Makkar, is all set to participate in the 31st World University Games (WUG) which is to be held in Chengdu, China from 18th to 29th August 2021. Currently a student of LPU’s Master of Arts in Sociology, Hardik hails from the state of Haryana. Recently, he has outshined a number of players in his seven matches held in Bangalore, where 124 other players had competed in different matches and categories. These Bangalore competitions have paved his way to 31st World University Games, China.

LPU launches the State of Youth Lovely Professional University chapter with support of KidsRight foundation

Believing that the world can come together when grappled with substantial shared challenges, Sm Sammam Sakti Ibn Sahadat, a B. Tech (Mechanical Engineering) student at Lovely Professional University has launched a new chapter under the aegis of “State of Youth Lovely Professional University” chapter with the support of “International Children Peace Prize” provider organization “KidsRight”.

“State Of Youth” is the world’s first borderless digital “State” launched by KidsRight to give a voice to millions of young people. Its goal is to reach beyond national borders and empower the global youth community aged (18-24 years old) to act on the Sustainable Development Goals and the world’s most critical crisis.

Along with that, he has won several other championships as well. And now as an entrepreneur, he runs a platform that helps to build an impressive personality and helps in grooming the person.

Five LPU Students Selected for Pro Kabaddi League Season 8

The eighth season of the Pro Kabaddi League will return after two years in December 2021. Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 was postponed last year due to the pandemic. Bengal Warriors are the defending champion of the Pro Kabaddi League. The auction was scheduled from 29 August 2021 – 31 August 2021. We at LPU are pleased to inform you that Five LPU Students and Kabaddi Players have been selected for Pro Kabaddi League Season 8. These five students are Surinder Singh, Sagar, Meetu Sharma, Rakesh Sangroya, and Jaideep Dahiya.

LPU ranked amongst the top 25 institutions in India in Architecture, Law and Pharmacy in NIRF 2021 ranking

HRD Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan announced the NIRF India Rankings 2021. As per the rankings, Lovely Professional University continues to feature among the prestigious NIRF List of Top 100 educational institutions in India overall, across all government and private colleges and universities. In a major feat, the University’s Architecture, Law and Pharmacy schools have been ranked amongst the Top 25 in the country for the first time. Amongst universities both government and private, LPU has strengthened its ranking to 62 this year from 87 in 2020.

LPU’s School of Education conducted International Conference

The School of Education & Humanities at Lovely Professional University (LPU) organised an International Conference on “Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity: Issues and Challenges”. Keynote addresses were made by Honorary Director ICSSR North-Western Regional Centre (NWRC) Prof. Sanjay Kaushik and Former Indian High Commissioner to Canada Vishnu Prakash.

The elite speakers stressed on the very challenges that the world is currently facing, and suggested how India can play a significant role in eradicating gaps existing among different sections, societies and nations in order to create a better and inclusive society. They also commented how terrorism, sectarianism and violence against women are serious challenges in the present-day world. In this regard, they emphasised that no society can be equal and inclusive unless women too have the share in the national and global affairs.

LPU Student Simran Clinches Bronze in Junior World Wrestling Championship

LPU excels in the sport of Wrestling on the international stage! LPU students are setting benchmarks all around the world. Recently, LPU BPES Student and wrestler Simran won Bronze Medal in Russia’s Junior World Wrestling Championship. It is a matter of huge pride for LPU that its students are bringing laurels from all across. We extend our biggest congratulations to the Verto and commend LPU’s steadfast commitment to raising the Tricolor with our excellent sports achievements!

Simran started the championship with dominant performances. Simran defeated Romania’s Georgiana Lavina Antuca with technical superiority. In the match against Romania’s wrestler, Simran did not concede a single point. In the quarterfinal match, Simran pulled off a victory by ‘fall’ against Azerbaijan’s Gultakin Shirinova. The quarterfinal match was a high-scoring match with a score line of 18-8.
