The stories in their lyrics come from their lives somewhere, they always have. Maybe it's Ashton being snarky, maybe it's Luke pulling his true feelings out of the depths - and then trying to brush it off when people ask. Super sad to watch. Calum and Michael are harder to read, Michael seems content but in a sick way (see: the grooming theories)
I agree. For artists, writing’s therapy. It’s a release. Art is its own sacred space/safe space not only for the listeners, but especially for the artists who create it. A studio is basically a safe space where you can say what you need to say, feel what you need to feel, and then release it.
One of the most honest tragically beautiful albums I’ve ever heard was “when facing the things we turn away from.” It was so sad. And it was so honest. So real. Heartbreaking.

but i’m genuinely so happy and excited for him. like this must feel so odd for him performing without the boys there but i know he’s gonna kill it. i’m so proud of how far he’s come.
