So if this is the direction LS is going in this season with the storylines maybe we really shouldn’t be asking for Tim to come back to OG🫣 because I just watched this season premiere with the same feeling I had for all of 6A.

[I have another nonnie in my inbox saying something similar: "If this is the result of Tim putting his whole energy, I’m afraid to think what would become of OG (lbr it’s already on the way to flopping hard)." I see ya, babes!] FR x2 As someone who is "meh" about the show right now (I enjoy the discussions more than what might actually happen), the "best" thing about Timothy going back to OG is once again having a show runner who is better at recognizing/filling holes in a story and has the necessary experience to handle the media (regardless of whether or not people agree with him). The stories themselves, though? Eh. He signed off on the Jeffrey Hudson arc (He helped write 5x01) He still wrote Chimney out. He didn't step in and say "Hey, maybe Chim and Buck need to handle their conflict ON SCREEN for the audience's benefit?" He had Maddie "run away" (which angered her fans because they wanted her to not leave her daughter like that) He thought bringing TayKay back was the solution to covering up the absence of Maddie (and Madney - if that couldn't focus on one couple, there would be another)

He likes drama just as much as the woman he left in his place, and if he saw no problem with what she'd done from 5B->on...who's to say we'll be watching a "completely different show" if he were to retake the reins?

I feel like with good promotion s6a could get good ratings but we’ll have to wait and see

I agree. I think the low rating going into this past season (meaning 5x01) was due in large part to the show not offering up information well in advance like LS for their January return. People didn’t have time to get excited about a new season. Some may not have even realized it was back, tbh.

The best way for OG to (potentially) reach the kind of numbers they had in s4 is to start dropping hints and teasers once they have completed filming things that will no doubt be included in the early episodes (like the “major catastrophe”).

But how about the 5x01 BT scene (my beloathed)? Even thought it didn’t end with sex, it was pretty steamy for 911 I think.

Well, the optics were, IMO, an indicator of the (un)willingness to push too many boundaries. Yeah, they kissed for several seconds, but she was visibly clothed (it's not like they covered her up to make it seem otherwise) and there wasn't even removal of Buck's tank like what LS did for the Tarlos almost-sex scene in s2 before the fire. They did just enough to reiterate that the physical attraction was the main thing keeping BT together without actually implying they were about to engage in anything sexual. And again, because it was Buck, the show could "get away with" a little bit extra since, at the time, he was still accepting affection/attention any way he could get it - it fit what we knew about him back then. [And when you think back, that's the only time it happened in s5, which tells you they weren't looking to make it a habit. One time, get the point across, and move on.]

I think it definitely doesn't hurt. Ronen tweeted this on January 25th:

Alright, I cracked. Your new favorite Tarlos scene is coming in Ep 4. That episode recorded the highest audience of season 3 with slightly more than 6 million viewers (way above anything OG has done between 5x01 and 5x12) and it was also their highest demo with 0.79. Tarlos or no Tarlos...it's hard to imagine a future episode looking even worse than ~3.6 million and a 0.50 key demo 😬😬
