Hades snorted a laugh. That was a colossal understatement. Persephone wasn’t ‘keeping him close’--she was keeping him under lock and key, sometimes literally. It was a pretty prison, full of flowers, each more striking than the last but none more beautiful than her; but it was a prison nonetheless. 

Still, sometimes, when his mind wandered, he could picture being close to her. Physically, yes, of course, but not just that. He could picture sitting beside her, while she stirs her plants up from dirt for no reason other than to toy with their petals or create new smells, not even paying attention to him, but feeling her presence nonetheless. 

Persephone’s presence was something, to be sure. It filled the spaces wherever she went, all scent and velvet and earthen tones. So very opposite from everything he had long-since grown accustomed to. It was part of the temptation he felt, part of what made him want that closeness. 

“How close?” he answered, that lazy, but low pitch holding his voice as it had pretty much since she’d most recently locked him in. “I mean, unless you’re planning on getting in here with me, this is about as close as it gets.”

Persephone didn’t answer that, as she often didn’t when she didn’t want to answer him. Instead, she huffed a little noise, of unknown meaning, and turned back to her book. Hades sighed, dropping his head against his bars. With one last look at her, he stepped away, retreating back to his corner to sit and wait until the next time she got bored enough to want his attention again.

Kangmin enjoyed taking walks to his favorite coffee shop a couple blocks over from his apartment. He was waiting for his coffee as he was reading his book. He got up when he heard his order called. He was adding the final touches to his drink when someone bumped him, causing him to spill his coffee.

I just saw an ask saying that Chloe can be killed off the show now and the show can be about Marcus and Lucifer and I’m like ???? Like I had to pull myself back from commenting because 1 it was not my ask and I am trying to break the habit of commenting on other people’s asks and 2 it would have probably been unpleasant for that person who asked.

I understand if someone doesn’t ship Deckerstar, but killing off a main character???

This is why I’m so angry they have sidelined Chloe. They’re making her expendable when Marcus should be.

Nullam ideam habet. How he wanted to. After weeks, in her beautiful, idyllic prison, the temptation to make her do anything near rivaled the temptation she herself presented. He could close the space between them, cup her face in his hands. She would play cool, he guessed, but he could tell she’d never done any of this before. She would stare up at him, wide-eyed, trying to hide her wonder. And if he kissed her, he was fairly sure, she would just about fall apart. She was new to this, yes, but he was older. Experienced in precisely the ways she wasn’t. She had no idea.

But it didn’t seem right, somehow. Not...yet. Not like this. Not with her hand holding all the cards, though when was it ever not? He licked his lip, forcing himself to hold in the smirk as her eyes tracked the small movement. She wanted him to, and perhaps that was the one reason he held out. It was the one thing she wanted that he had, the one leverage he had. And while his resolve to resist her and leave weakened every day, he knew keeping leverage would be the only thing that tethered him to that duty. Besides, he missed being in control of just about anything anymore.

So he would refuse her, again, as he had so many damn times before--and people thought his brother was the strongest amongst them?--but not without stirring up a little fun for himself. He pushed himself off the wall he’d been resting against, hearing the rustling of leaves behind him and the whisper of the grass beneath his feet. He stopped maybe a foot from her, and then leaned forward, coming within inches of her face. “I could,” he promised her, lowering his voice in both pitch and volume. He loved doing this--it made her pupils widen ever so slightly, as though she needed to see more of him. He stood there in silence, wondering what she would do. She seemed frozen, though. Well, good. It was her turn.

He straightened, giving her a nonchalant smirk. “But I won’t. Not yet. So, I guess that leaves us at an impasse. New day, same shit.” She looked as though she had something to say to that, and he looked forward to hearing it.
