It’s raining men, hallelujah! It’s raining men!
Khushi twirled on her toes, before sashaying her hips. She danced without a care along the long corridor of her beautiful home. Well, it was a mansion really, but nobody could tell that to the daughter of Lucknow’s biggest builder.
Khushi hummed the songs blasting in her ears out loud, as she pranced around in just a white negligée, enjoying a rare evening of solitude. Her mum ensured that she was well chaperoned when she was out with friends, a driver accompanied her to her job as an apprentice to her interior designer aunt Madhumati and the house was always filled with too many guests.
So when her papa and mummy had declared their plans to go visit a friend who had recently returned from abroad that evening , she had bursted with joy from within.
And here she was, wearing a full face of makeup, her headphones hooked to her walkman, in her barely anything outfit which would have given her mummy the fits.
She halted in front of a beautiful brown door, embossed with gold. Her papa’s office. As a child she had seen him as such a powerful figure and partly responsible for that was this beautiful office tastefully decorated by her aunt. It was where Khushi envisioned herself after a decade. Powerful enough to have a beautiful office and a huge chair, almost like a throne!
Giggling at the mischievous thought brewing in her head, she rested her hand on the carved door knob. Twisting it, she pushed it open as the smell of mahogany invaded her nose. Letting out a sigh of contentment, she walked in.
The music put her on her feet again, spinning with such grace, her ballet teacher would have been proud. She found herself drawn to the liquor cabinet. Feeling bold that evening, she took the wine bottle and weighed it in her arms.
Her eyes then caught sight of the small metal flask.
Whiskey it is!
Her lips curved into a wicked smile.
The first sip sent a burn down her throat. The next sip seemed to grow on her. And soon she was pleasantly intoxicated!
Prancing around, enjoying her evening of freedom she settled on her father’s lush velvet chair. Crossing her legs with the flask dangling from her hand , she felt so powerful.
“ I would suggest you go easy on the drink”
Her walkman dropped from her grip, crashing onto the floor as she startled. Her heart raced and she paled as fear gripped her. Breathing deeply for courage, she took a moment more before turning around the chair.
A man in a suit. A man who was smirking. A man who stood lazily, arms crossed across his broad chest.
“ Drunk already?” His voice seemed almost sinful. Or was it her intoxicated brain?
“Who are you?”
He smiled this time.
“ Arnav Singh Raizada. Mr and Mrs Gupta came to visit my father tonight and invited us back to their place for some business. I took my own car and I am afraid I arrived earlier than them. And met…. you”
His eyes slipped down her face and Khushi became uncomfortably aware of her state of undress. Well not really! But the white negligée was far from suitable for polite company.
She gulped in trepidation.
“ Umm yeah, I thought I would be alone”
“ You should hurry back. They’ll be here any moment. Khushi? Is that your name?”
She nodded. She felt like a dimwit. The whisky was being blamed, but this Adonis in front of her could have made her dizzy with desire even when sober.
She stood up and put the flask back in the cabinet. Just when she reached Arnav, she found herself begging.
“ Please don’t tell my parents. Please.”
His gaze darkened as they pierced her.
“ What will I get in return?”
“Anything you ask” she promised brashly in her fear.
“Anything?” His voice dropped down to almost a whisper.
She nodded. Her eyes bright and wide on her pale face.
He looked on, as she left the office and rushed back to her room.
She flopped down on her bed. Her heart still racing, she ran her hands over her face.
Why did it feel like she had just made a deal with the devil?

IPKKND LIVE BLOG SEASON 1 [Epi. 6]
Come, let's begin.
1. Episode starts with Khushi flashing back to all the horrible moments that happened that day. Mind you, this is the same day going on, the day just after Payal's marriage broke and the day all of them went to The Dargah.
2. The same day Arnav and Khushi had their fight regarding Gods and their existence. Then him releasing those clippings and the Mul Rajani part and Khushi in the market with her parents and all of a sudden people giving her annoying glares and muttering things about her character, then their encounter with Shyam and coming back to GS, her parents' decision to send her away to Delhi and then finally, them going to the office of that news channel and her finding out about him, releasing those clips. Uff. A lot to happen in a single day. I think, they forgot to end a day, in between. Lol. Enough. Now back to the epi.
3. Khushi is adorably ranting about her horrible day which was made even more horrible by that 'Laard Gorverner'. (Yes that's the official spelling for me now. But who cares? Lol.)
4. I don't think we should take it jokingly tho but I don't know why did they show as if Khushi is intrigued by him more than being indifferent to his existence completely. She's already given him a nick name and keeps using it, at every chance she gets.
5. She's got insulted by almost the entire Lucknow and her neighborhood and yet they show as if she is not that serious with his misbehavior and him in general entirely for something so terrible that happened to her. She never even mentioned it at least once about this incidence later.
I agree that they did it for the show, but still, they could have shown her anger, her indifference like they did it in the guesthouse track. The fierce and no-nonsense Khushi. Whatever.
6. While she is recalling her opinion regarding "Bina dil ki Dilli, machis ki tilli." (It's a rhyme made for Delhi and it's heartless people.) There, Shyam comes up, after stalking and following her from that office and is now pretending as if he was passing from there and merely happened to coincidently see her there too. Bloody b_stard.
7. Now. Tell me. How did he know it was her father's 'batua' ? Okay. Fine. His photo must have been there. And address too. Coz he reveals that he was coming to her house. And Khushi is caught off guard by the revelation, but seeing her astonishment he quickly diverts her attention by twisting his answer. KHUSHI!? DON'T IGNORE YOUR GUT INSTINCT OKAY!?! DON'T!!! I AM WARNING YOU OF THIS LEECH!
8. Lol. Who am I kidding? This is the same girl who was in denial of her feelings for a certain someone, okay let's not go there right now.
9. Btw, this is for all the girls who are reading this. Never ignore your gut-instinct or more precisely the girl-instinct. Never ever. Be very aware of who is around you for what purpose or intention. Now. Back to the epi.
10. Khushi, naively, tells him everything about who she knows there and who is she going with. Girls, I am warning you again. Never indulge into a complete stranger, let alone giving them info bout yourself or your location.
11. She did not have to tell him, any of that. Don't be too good for your own good, Khushi, please.
12. The atmosphere in GS is very melancholic as they complete their last minute packings and babuji comes and offers a spoonful of dahi-chini. Khushi has tears in her eyes but probably this is the last time that she would cry and anyone would not get affected by it, because after this Arnav would always, always, always get hugely affected whenever he would find Khushi crying. Ok. Ab chalo, Dilli.
13. The sun dawns, the next day and we find ourselves standing on the busy roads of Delhi, outside the railway station.
14. Khushi complains about the speeding cars and compares them to the ones in Lucknow.
15. Buaji demonstrates the method to cross a road, this busy. Buaji, leave the girls, even I won't be able to cross the road the way you did. You are unique, Buaji. You are you. No one can be you. Lol.
16. The girls fret over a little, but nervously start to cross the road. But, ultimately, they end up creating, a traffic jam.
17. Hahahahaahahah. The auto scene always gets me. Lol. Buaji tries to get in the auto, while complaining about the size of the 'darwajja' (door). And when she gets in from this side, Khushi falls down from the other side. Lol.
18. "Humara auto mein toh teen ka hee permit hai, mataji." "Toh hum kaa chaar dikhayi de rahe haen?" *smacks the driver* "Chal nikaal riksa." Lol. (My auto permits only three people, ma'am. Do we seem to be four people, here? *smacks the driver* Now come on start the riksha.)
19. So. Tho. Funnily portrayed. But, sad, as well. The driver adjusts the mirror to stare at Khushi while driving and Khushi is well aware, so she covers her face with her dupatta. This. Right, here. You won't believe but this kind of behavior is so damn common, even I have faced these kinds of situations. I HATE THIS. I DESPISE THIS. I DOWNRIGHT ABHORE THIS. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH. Enough. Now get back to the epi.
20. They are there. Laxminagar. They get out of the riksa. Buaji asks the fare and the driver says it's 200. Khushi feels that it is ridiculously high. She starts arguing but the driver says he is ready to dismiss the fare for her, in a very flirtatious tone. So, Khushi being Khushi, pulls a suitcase so hard, that it smacks his head from the back, before giving a final blow, she says "Maaf kijiye, Bhaiyyaji. (scowls)" Lmao. I love Khushi.
21. Buaji tells them about the situation of water supply in Delhi. And, she goes inside the house. Khushi and Payal share their feelings of the 'weird' experiences they faced up until now.
22. AND. HI BITWA. Oh. When did you land in Delhi? You know what your wife has also arrived in Delhi. Ahhhhhhh. The cravat. (😍) Lol. ASR guitar BG score is so soothing. Arnav is leaving for office. Anjali di has made his 'favorite' Bhuni methi ke parathe (roasted fenugreek seeds' flatbread) "Side rakhne ke liye nahi de rahe hain, kha lena." Lol.
23. Anjali di reminds him to come back home early as today Naniji is coming back from her pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi and there is a puja at their house. But, our chhotte straight up refuses to 'waste' his precious time in 'these' things and asks her to make up some excuse for his absence.
24. Anjali di is reminded of the 'prasaad' that she has to make for the puja so after saying, "Chhotte tum na bohot baatein karte ho, dekha sab gadbad karaa di, hum chalte hein, bye.", (when she did all the talking and didn't even let her chhotte speak a single word. Lol.), she leaves. Her chhotte is left incredulous at her antics.(Those who say that he started smiling or feel any positive emotion only after Khushi came into his life permanently, SEE THAT, GO AND OPEN THE EPISODE.)
25. Phuphaji? Worked? In? Railways? Lol. See this.
Tumblr media
26. "Tohre hoth bijli aawat nahi, girat hai girat. Dham dharaam." Lol. Buaji. I hate to admit this. But. You are so damn right.
27. "Haan. Jaise aaj aap girin." Famous Last Words Ft. Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada.
28. And Buaji throws a cushion at her for spitting the fact of the century. Buaji. Please let her be.
29. Did I say it earlier? I think not enough. I will say it again. Babuji is the only person who can read Khushi so well.
30. Hmm. So. Buaji. WHAT IS YOUR DAMN PROBLEM, HUH? Whatever.
31. Buaji makes fun of her tears. Why Buaji why? Why do you exist?
32. Khushi and Payal enter ~what seems to be like~ their room as Khushi describes it aptly- Kamra nahi puratatva vibhaag ki site (Not a room but an archaeological site. Lol. I snorted.)
33. Both the sisters take up the meticulous job of cleaning the room.
34. One jerk of the dirty bedsheet and Buaji is immediately having an attack of asthma from all the dirt shoved her way.
35. Both of them panic and help her lay down on the bed. Khushi rushes to find her pump but to their utter dismay, it's empty.
36. Khushi snatches her basta and phone and rushes out to buy a new one. She takes Paaji's scooter along with her.
37. Bitwa informs his manager that he is crossing Connaught Place and that he will be there for the meeting in ten minutes.
38. His manager further goes on to give him a 'good' news that 'that fashion show wali ladki' has been humiliated so much by the people that she has left the city altogether (Arnav, did you send your men to keep a check on your dear wife Khushi?)
Arnav admonishes him for wasting his 'precious' time. (Tell me something honestly Bitwa, you did feel bad for her, even if it was just for a fleeting second, didn't you?)
And just as he says the line that it doesn't affect him even if she leaves the country, Khushi's reflection appears on the side glass of his car and she whoosh pasts him in a second. (Watch out Bitwa, she is definitely not in some other country but in the same city as you, not very far too, so be careful, you might fall in love.)
39. And, now yet another time, Khushi is on a scooter with a funny-looking helmet and she is driving.....or more like running, skidding, jumping but in a scooter way. Lol. This is her 'Hum Khushi Kumari Gupta' style driving.
(Remember the 'Hum Khushi Kumari Gupta' style running, skidding, jumping, i referred to in Epi. 3? This is the driving edition. Lol. Whatever.)
40. Okay, one more point, after that i am coming back to the epi. See, the last time, Khushi was on the scooter and where did she end up? Infront of her husband Arnavji.
This time as well she is on a scooter, so where will she end up? Not very hard to guess it, i think? Kyun meri Parmeswariyon? *winks*
41. So. Now. Back to the epi.
42. Payal informs her sister that 'pados wale Kaul uncle' had brought a pump for Buaji and now she is fine but Khushi insists that she should get her a new one anyways.
43. And. Within a few moments. Sure enough. She takes a turn towards the wrong side and runs right into a car; scratching it all the way along with one of the mirrors from the scooter, crashing into pieces on the road, within a few seconds.
44. She picks up the broken glass and guiltily walks towards the driver's side of the car only to come face to face with her husband Arnavji.
45. I love how her guilty expression immediately changes into something more like she is about to admonish him for his 'mischiefs'.
46. And our Bitwa. Oh damn. Just look at his positively delicious face and that expression is something like 'Oh. Damn. Uss ullu ke patthe ne toh kahan tha ki isne sheher chor diya tha. Toh phir yeh yahan kya kar rahi hai. Ab tera kya hoga Arnav.' Lol. No. Its something like 'Shit. Shit. Shit. Arnav. Shit. You are a gone case now. No one can save you from falling for this beautiful girl.' Lol. No. You decide his inner thoughts from this expression. A homework for y'all. I will ask y'all in the next one.
Tumblr media
47. But look at that face tho. *keeps staring at the screen* *doesn't realize that the screen is now flashing the precap* Shit. Shit. Shit. Sorry. I don't watch precaps but I couldn't stop myself from staring at his beautiful face.
P.S.: Ok. So. Howazit? Do tell. Ok. Then. Bye. Y'all. God bless you.

IPKKND OS: Meetha Ishq Ka
Warning: Slightly mature theme | Canon |
Word Count: 1391 | 8-10 minutes read
I’ve often been accused of being shy and sheltered. Seeing the world as if everything and everyone was as sweet as chashni. It’s surprising how quick people are to point out that the world is bitter and I am blind. It’s not my fault if I lived my whole life in my babuji’s sweet shop!
He nurtured me with kindness and wisdom, imparting key knowledge to one and all. Lucknow was my home, where I met my closest friends. When someone looks at me they think “Oh, she’s so happy!”. That’s not true. In reality I’ve been a companion to tears and cries. Of humiliation and rage.
But believing in goodness above all, I am resolved to solve everything with sweetness. Aakhir kya karu? It’s elemental to who I am.  And I am not ashamed of looking at the world with a bit more hope and courage than most people.
Especially Diabetic Singh Raizada.
I would never point out his health condition - in fact I’m rather sympathetic to it. I have spent hours studying what sugarfree is, but the thing is Karela Raizada simply knows how to break my heart every moment. From the first time I met him he ran away from me as if I’m poison.
Maybe I am. Considering my bubbliness and sweetness, it doesn’t take a genius to understand that he has complicated emotions in his heart. I remember Di saying there’s something about me that reminds him of childhood. And I know he hasn’t had a good one.
I think my gripe with Mr. Raizada comes from the fact that I’m irrevocably drawn to him. I had concluded that men like him have no space in my life but when I learned he’s also from Lucknow, has a softer side to him and actually doesn’t mind my presence in his house - rather looks forward to it - I couldn’t help but melt.
Who wouldn’t? It’s Arnav. And Devi Maiyya ki kasam he’s been blessed with a beautiful face.
Talking about melting, I sometimes had the urge to melt Shyam Manohar Jha in a pot of boiling oil.  That man! I always felt something was wrong about him when he touched me as if I was his own. Who gives him the right to hold me like that? To attempt to learn my secrets? I tried warning those close to me that something was wrong with this man who claimed to love me, when it looked like he was trying to get into people’s good books.
I still remember the first time I was in Shantivan. Arnav Singh Raizada had glared at me from the other end of the living room but tell me - why couldn’t take his eyes off me? Also, if I may overshare my dear friends, I think he smells me before he sees me. I see his nose twitch, a hint of smile on his shapely lips as he recognizes my fragrance before he quickly dons his mask - yes a mask! - of akduness.
Now that I'm in the mood to overshare, I lost myself the first time I touched his lips. I believe he was in a haze, a bit unwell - so I won’t count it as anything romantic.
What will count is when I saw him on New Year’s Eve, face silhouetted between the curtains, skin glowing by the fairylights. Still, my most favourite moment that I count as rather romantic was post marriage.  I was alone with him in his cabin and he stared at me - contemplating something.
It was cold in the office but I couldn’t have felt hotter. Slowly, he pulled me closer to him, eyes dark in temptation. I was left speechless. I had thought after the wedding he would absolutely abhor me but no, here he was, taking every single risk - the curtains were still open!
Oh my Devi Maiyya, anyone could see us in his office.
But he didn’t care. I felt it was a temptation he was willing to cross regardless of the risk. And I lost my capability of functioning. There were so many more words left to exchange - like first of all, why didn’t Kadwa Raizada ever confess that he has a fondness for me? One can’t go from avoidance to indulgence at once!
But then this is Arnav. I wouldn’t be the one to stop him if he looked at me with his hooded eyes. I closed mine as he took me into a sinful, luscious kiss. A deep breath left me, as if we’d be waiting for this for ages.
Oh! He bites!
“Aap?” We froze. Scandalised. His wife of six months and my best friend caught us red handed. My juices were on his hand - evidence of our crimes. Khushi smiled, with the fondness of someone who realised what longing did to someone, and shyly chuckled that she would have made me - Jalebi - meet Arnav more frequently if she had only known Arnav liked me too.
As a sweet dish I had many friends, but none like Khushi Kumari Gupta. She was a part of my soul and I, hers. Hence it was no surprise we both loved the same man too. However, my friendship to Khushi rivalled my love for Arnav. If his mistake of reciprocating his affections for me - once - brought a smile on Khushi’s lips, I’d gladly be in this one sided relationship till the end of my life.
And surprisingly what started as unrequited love ended as friendship with Khatta Raizada. He had to ask me - YES ME - tips for making jalebis. Would I call myself evil for misguiding him and letting him create a horrible jaleba for Khushi?
Jaleba was a terrible creation. But much like Khushi and her ability to love anyone, she kissed Jaleba with sweetness. His bitter, burnt crisp edges didn’t hide the fact that somehow he was sweet on the inside.
I am never going to be Jaleba’s friend - if you ask me he belongs in the dustbin. But I am jealous of his ability to close an argument between Khushi and Arnav. There is something in him… I agree.
Perhaps as Payal had once said about Arnav to Khushi, Jaleba might not be who I think he is.
Wait, wasn’t this supposed to be about Arnav and my love for him? Then why am I mentioning  Jaleba so much? That oddly shaped creature with no taste nor eye for art! No, I feel nothing for him. We have absolutely no relationship.
Devi Maiyya ki kasam, I’d change my name before I call Jaleba a sweet dish.
Even if Khushi fondly spoke about him the next day.
“Oh wow Khushi-ji! This is Nannav’s jaleba? How romantic.” NK - my best friend #2 - sighed as he had the audacity of putting me and Jaleba on the same plate.
“Isn’t it cute Nanhe-ji?” Khushi smiled.
“It is Khushi ji, it’s like Jalebi and Jaleba are made for each other!” NK grinned.
Jaleba and I stared at each other, horrified. We looked away, vowing to never consider the other under a romantic light. I knew his heart was for Khushi - he was only made for her. And my heart was with my Arnav.
However, dare I admit I felt something pop on my crispy skin like it's not the hot oil. Nor would I admit I spent the rest of the day hidden in the bottom layer of the chashni pot, I wouldn't - and couldn't - look at Jaleba in the eyes after that comment.
Until Khushi forgot me in the chashni pot and Arnav dropped Jaleba here too - hoping he'd learn some sweetness.
"Hey," I jumped at his voice. He sounded like Arnav? Coated in chashni I admitted against my belief that we're... similar. He's made of the same thing as me. Except I had a different upbringing than him.
Jaleba looked away as the chashni made my skin translucent. And like a gentleman, he pushed more of the sweet syrup towards me and stood at the other end of the pot.
Hey hey.... Hey hey heyyyy…. Meetha Ve... heyyyyyy....Meetha Ve.... ooooo.... oh Meetha Ve...
OH MY DEVI FREAKING MAIYYA
– – –
Jalebi ko hai pasand mithaai,
Par Jaleba ko meetha na lubhaai,
Kya inn dono ke raaste kabhi ek ho payenge?
Jaan ne ke liye dekhiye, Iss Meethe Ko Kya Chashni Doon?
Only on Halwa Plus!

Elephant who could not forget dies of broken heart
“For 24 days Damini refused to move, eat or drink. Despite the attention of a series of experts, the 72-year-old seemed determined to die, her heart apparently broken by the death of a close companion. Finally, on Wednesday, Damini the elephant died in her enclosure at the Prince of Wales zoo in Lucknow, northern India, her loose skin hanging over protruding bones, bed sores covering her body.Damini had arrived at the zoo last year after being confiscated from owners who were illegally transporting her. She was alone in her new home for five months until September, when a pregnant younger elephant named Champakali arrived on a kind of maternity leave. Although zoo officials were worried about caring for Champakali, 'Damini took up the job instantaneously', Utkarsh Shukla, a vet at the zoo, said.
The two elephants became inseparable. According to experts such attachments are common, with the older elephant caring for the younger, especially in pregnancy.
When Champakali died on April 11 giving birth to a stillborn calf, Damini seemed to shed tears, according to zoo officials. For days she stood still in her enclosure, barely nibbling at the 2 tonnes of sugarcane, bananas and grass heaped in front of her.
Her legs swelled and eventually gave way, leaving Damini lying on her side, head and ears drooping, trunk curled. Tears rolled down her face and the four-tonne elephant rapidly lost weight.
She lay 'staring at the staff with her sad eyes, moist with tears', according to Kamaal, a zookeeper.
A week ago she completely stopped eating and on Wednesday she died. 'In the face of Damini's intense grief, all our treatment failed,' said Dr Shukla.
'It will take me some time to get over the death of my two loved ones,' said Kamaal. AP”

Mycroft Holmes x Bethany Wheeler (OFC)
Story Masterlist
Chapter 11 - Peru
I’m going to Peru in about four days time, will be gone for two weeks. – BW
It had been nearly a month since Mycroft had called her, he hadn’t contacted her since then to arrange dinner, mostly because he’d been keeping an eye on the situation with Sherlock and A.G.R.A. He was aware that one of the members was currently tracking Mary but had both limited time and resources to devote to it. People like Mary tended not to last too long, but also if Sherlock was tracking down the Thatcher busts, it probably wasn’t a good thing.
Hiking in the Andes? Or visiting Machu Picchu? – MH
Maybe both. I’ve got two weeks to fill with adventures. Do you have any suggestions? – BW
As previously stated, travelling is not my area of expertise. I’m sure I will be asking you for recommended destinations on your return. – MH
I’m sure you will. – BW
Mycroft frowned at his phone, did he say something wrong?
I’ll not be doing anything too pressing over the next few weeks, nothing that requires my full attention anyway. – MH
If that’s your way of saying “send pics” then I will try to send some when I can. I’ll be visiting my parents, so I will try to be subtle, but they find out everything. You sure you still want photos? – BW
Mycroft smiled down at his phone. Sherlock was due to arrive any minute, but he couldn’t find it in himself to care for a moment.
On second thoughts, I may have one or two things that require my attention. – MH
Yeah, I wouldn’t want to be on the other end of “what are your intentions with our daughter?” either. Though I imagine you’d be able to come up with some reasonable answer that would satisfy them. – BW
Possibly. Though I’ll admit, it’s not a conversation I’ve had to worry about having with anyone before now. – MH
Really? Now that does surprise me. – BW
Does it? – MH
Bethany didn’t respond immediately and Sherlock had walked through the door of his office, taken a seat and started asking him about A.G.R.A.
I’ll keep it subtle and sneak a couple of cheeky shots when I can. I’ll text you before I leave. – BW
Mycroft smiled again, before putting his feet up and devoting his attention to Sherlock again.
‘She’s going to Peru, isn’t she?’ He asked, Mycroft just took a deep breath and chose not to engage. ‘Visiting her parents for two weeks. Lovely people.’
‘You’ve met them?’ Mycroft frowned.
‘Briefly.’ Sherlock nodded. ‘A few days before I met Beth, they’re good people.’
‘Indeed.’
‘You?’
Mycroft nodded. ‘Yes, her father and I met while he was at Cambridge, he built an aircraft that we now use for sending medical supplies to Africa. And her mother I met when she worked briefly with the World Health Organisation. They are indeed good people.’
‘And do they know about your association with their daughter?’
Mycroft chose not to answer that. He got back to the point of Sherlock’s visit.
‘AGRA, a city on the banks of the river Yamuna in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is three hundred and seventy- eight kilometres west of the state capitol Lucknow-‘
‘What are you, Wikipedia?’
‘Yes.’ Mycroft smiled, a private joke with himself.
‘AGRA’s an acronym.’
‘Oh good, I love an acronym. All the best secret societies have them.’
‘Team of agents, the best, but you know all that.’
‘Of course, I do, go on.’ Mycroft was enjoying the façade of Sherlock telling him something he thought he might not know, but he really needed him to get to the point and soon.
‘One of them Ajay is looking for Mary, also one of the team.’
Mycroft took a small breath. ‘Indeed. Well, that’s news to me.’
‘Is it?’ Sherlock frowned and Mycroft just gave him a look as if to say of course he knew. ‘He’s already killed looking for that memory stick. AGRA always worked for the highest bidder, I thought that might include you.’
‘Me?’
‘Oh, I mean the British Government, or whatever government you’re currently propping up.’
‘AGRA were very reliable,’ Mycroft said. ‘Then came the Tbilisi incident. They were sent in to free the hostages, but it all went terribly wrong. And that was that, we stopped using freelancers.’
‘You’re initiative.’
‘My initiative.’ Mycroft nodded. ‘Freelancers are too woolly, too messy. I don’t like loose ends. Not on my watch.’
Sherlock leaned forward and grabbed one of the files Mycroft had on his desk. ‘There was something else. A detail. A codeword.’ He scribbled on the edge of the file.
‘Ammo?’
‘It’s all I’ve got.’
‘Little enough.’
‘Could you do some digging as a favour?’
Mycroft smiled. ‘You don’t have many favours left.’
‘Then I’m calling them all in.’
‘And if you can find who’s after her and neutralise them, what then? You think you can go on saving her forever?’
‘Of course.’
‘Is that sentiment talking?’
‘No. It’s me.’
‘Difficult to tell the difference these days.’
‘I told you, I made a promise. A vow.’
Mycroft smiled, he didn’t need to wonder how far Sherlock would go to protect Mary. He’d seen it first hand with Magnusson. ‘Alright, I’ll see what I can do. But remember this, brother mine. Agents like Mary tend not to reach retirement age, they get retired, in a pretty permanent sort of way.’
‘Not on my watch.’ Sherlock was determined and left Mycroft to do the digging he required.
He spent the next few days trying to subtly dig up what he could, all the while keeping an eye on where Sherlock was going.
That’s me off! Machu Picchu here I come! – BW
Beth had sent through a selfie of her sitting on the plane, waiting to take off. She was smiling with her headphones around her neck and her dark eyes were illuminated by the morning light streaking through them. Beautiful.
Hope it’s all you expect it to be, and I hope your parents are well. Stay safe and don’t be afraid to call if any of you run into trouble, I do have some pull with the Peruvian government. – MH
Back to flirting? I’ll keep it in mind. See you when I get back! – BW
Mycroft smiled as he finished getting dressed for the day, unconsciously putting on his navy suit. He wasn’t stupid, his thoughts were firmly on Bethany and that was why he opted to wear it. It was ridiculous, she wasn’t even his, she wasn’t his girlfriend or labelled as anyone significant in his life, she was a woman who he had kissed twice and had a vague association with over the last year and a half. That was all.
Over the two weeks that Bethany was gone, Mycroft was dealing with several things that he wished he wasn’t, Lady Smallwood was in meetings that she needed him to be a part of and most of it was tedious. The only thing that got him through was the occasional message from Bethany, accompanied by a picture of her on her adventures.
Machu Picchu! I reached the summit! Bow before your queen! – BW
Bethany stood at the very top of the citadel with her arms spread out and the sun shining on her tanned features. She just wore her shorts and strapped crop top, why would she have worn anything else? But it had Mycroft quickly putting the phone away to avoid smiling too much at how much fun she was having.
Parents always said I could have a pet, I chose a cat... of sorts. – BW
She was holding a baby jaguar by the looks of things, one that barely looked six months old. Bethany was laughing and Mycroft could see her mother in the background handling a woolly monkey and talking with one of the staff. She looked so similar to her daughter and it was clear where her frizzy hair had come from and her kindness towards all creatures. He wanted to respond and joke about her parents allowing her to have such dangerous animals, but in the interest of subtlety he decided against it.
Peaceful night camping under the stars tonight. – BW
It was by far the most beautiful photo he’d seen of her on her adventures. She wore her cream cable knit jumper, thick black leggings with a camping mug close to her chest. Bethany’s gaze was focused on the setting sun and once again the light streaked through her dark eyes, making them almost look a golden colour under the rays. Stunning.
The last photo he’d received from her was during a meeting with Lady Smallwood and Sir Edwin, Mycroft lost focus of what they had been talking about, he didn’t think it mattered so much as they had been disagreeing for the last half hour.
Bailando con mi papa. Homeward bound tomorrow. – BW
Dancing with my dad. She wore a beautiful red dress and sandals and danced with her father who wore a linen white shirt and cargo shorts. Mycroft could see where Bethany got her dark eyes from, her father’s were almost black. They had the same smile as well, but to him, there was more beauty and radiance in hers. They seemed to be in some kind of restaurant with locals and everyone was dancing and having a good time. Mycroft felt his heart swell, to see her so carefree and happy, made him extraordinarily happy as well.
She was coming home the next day. Sherlock was somewhere in Morocco as far as he could tell and everything was starting to slot into place nicely.
‘Sir?’ Anthea interrupted the meeting, not that Mycroft minded, but it seemed to irritate Lady Smallwood and Sir Edwin. Mycroft motioned for her to come in anyway, quickly putting away his phone. She handed him a file he recognised and he gave her a fleeting frown in questioning, but she remained silent. When he opened the file, he realised why.
‘Ah.’ He said. ‘Apologies, we’ll have to cut this meeting short. I have an urgent call to make.’
‘Mycroft, you can’t just-‘
‘We can pick this up later, Lady Smallwood.’ Mycroft gestured for Anthea to head out of the meeting room first. ‘Has anyone else seen this?’
‘No, sir, I brought it straight to you.’ Anthea said, quietly.
‘Good.’ He nodded closing the file. ‘Miss Wheeler will be back in the country tomorrow evening, please see to it that she is in my office at seven o’clock sharp.’
‘Yes sir.’ Anthea went to make a phone call.
Mycroft ran his hand over his face, holding the bridge of his nose, she promised him she would stay out of trouble and this did not fall under that brief. How did this not come up in her background check? How did he miss such a fine and damaging detail?
Mycroft prepared himself for the next day, knowing she would probably be annoyed and probably be upset with the situation, he needed to read through everything and try to make sense of the paper in front of him.

▪︎ IPKKND Ep 7 recap : Arnav and Khushi's 2nd challenge
> Challenges or flirting sessions? 😏
Tumblr media
Everytime they have an encounter in public, it's as if the world disappear, they see and hear each other only lol.
"-Before doing anything, think at least once on how it'll affect that person !-If that's the case, then stop interfering in my business!" Yes, I definitely think they are unconsciously very glad of meeting each other again hahaha! Did you notice how Arnav's taciturne attitude leaves everytime he meet Khushi ?! She made him so alive but for now, he still doesn't realize it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I think you're trying to take money out of me" Arnav doesn't believe in fate, and he also isn't incline to think they meet this often by coincidences. That's why he's already thinking she's trying to approach him with ulterior motives aka trying to seduce him to get a taste of his money and position, lmao sir you wish hahaha !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"That's why I admit I made a mistake because I'm not like you, who does wrong and walks away from the situation" Arnav's anger makes him do very awful mistakes as we already saw in the last episodes but Khushi's self righteous spirit also makes her do awful mistakes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do you see how his eyes are smiling when Khushi is lecturing him (the last pic) about bringing up the topic of money haha uugh so cute ! He begins to notice what annoys her, and now he's starting to love teasing her with it.
Tumblr media
He doesn't do it here to insult her, he does it to engage with her !
He supposed to be busy, but look at him giving her his entire time hehe! He has only eyes for her too when they argue, he's drinking her liveness and that "extra" personality of hers. He doesn't want to miss anything cause he know they will get separate ways soon !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arnav is smiling again because of her, not once this time but many and directly in front of her. He's openly flirting with her. She doesn't see it, too busy making him know that she isn't inferior to him !
He already holds such importance to her, she cares of what he thinks of her. She doesn't want to lose to him.
Arnav doesn't care about the money that she supposed to pay for his car, not only because he's a freaking multi millionnaire DUH but because he knows he went too far with the release of their "Lucknow" moment in the media. He already considered it as a compensation for his misbavior. I think he never had any intention to get from her any money.
Tumblr media
Challenging her was always a way for him to meet her again. He doesn't believe in fate but he also suspect her to purposely create occasion to meet. But it doesn't stop his own desire to see her again. Arnav Singh Razaida creates his fate and he wants to see her again. That's why, in my opinion, he always somehow lets his door open for her to meet him again by challenging her.
Khushi seems to only focus on winning against him but she's a clever girl, she knows. She knows it's a way to meet him again, she can sense he's letting his door open. The only thing that's is incertain to them now, is what their interactions will lead to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Did Arnav just created an occasion to hold her hand? I think so, absolutely YES ! 😏
He even holds her hand to give her money. He didn't have to hold her hand but he still did. And she lets him do it ! Khushi doesn't let anyone touch her or act this way with her, she is very much capable to throw away any dude that she doesn't want that close to her !
Arnav loves winning but he's starting to like her not giving up, not wanting to see him win over her. He enjoys her treating him as her equal disregarding his behavior, money and power.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Annoying, self righteous and prideful. Beautiful, brave and cute" is probably what he thought about her since the 1st meeting until now.
" Arrogant, mean and pretentious. Handsome, sexy and mysterious" is probably her first impression of him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When she stops him with a "wait", not only he obeyed and stopped but he also wasn't suprised that she didn't let him win easily.
He knew somehow. He knew she will react this way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look how not suprised at all he looks when Khushi promise him to pay him back. He knew she'll take the challenge. He's delighted ! Because it means, he'll meet her again somehow.
What makes him also excited is the fact that meeting her is also out of his control, for once he doesn't have to be in control of everything, he can let things happen. Of course, at this stage, they aren't seing each other in a romantic way but they unconsciously like how their interactions made them feel and they can sense the attraction, and the adrenaline from it.
Tumblr media
"You are here and me too. We'll see." See, he lets his door open, he lets it open for her and fate. This scene was so hot and cute at the same time haha !
Khushi promises to see him again (to pay him back) and he doesn't reject the idea of seing her again (he couldn't care less about the money), on the contrary, he's insinuating he will wait fo her.
Tumblr media
" -I promise -We will see"
Fate or her own intention, he'll let the door open. "Let's see if fate really exist, coming from Lucknow to Delhi to banging directly to my car ! There must be some motive"
"-Even if I drive safely, the rest of people are careless. -Did you note down the vehicule number? Just one call is enough to sue them -No need for that." This is the first scene where we get to see Arnav hiding (his crush lol) his encounters with Khushi. Khushi is his secret, the person that can let him be a little bit like his real self (so of course, he won't let people around him know about it) ! "Don't tell sister about it".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Who is that girl who put a dent on his mind more than dent in the car?" PERIOD Akash haha, he knows Arnav's mind is already too focus on Khushi !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"-The pace at which you are going in your life… at that pace everything goes blurry except for you. -I can see everything clearly -You're looking in the wrong direction. Don't just look ahead, have a look what's behind you." Oh don't worry grandma, Arnav is gonna soon always make a point to look back, but only for kushi hehe
"Only when the pace is slow, you can distinguish between right & wrong"
Tumblr media
From ep 7 ▪︎ Khushi/Arnav similiarities : -Their are very competitive. -They are quite stubborn. Khushi's self righteous spirit & Arnav's impulsivity make them do terrible mistakes & blind them. -They want to see each other, each interaction make them feel more alive. -Them challenging each other is the way they flirt with one another.

Amblyopia, also known as "lazy eye," is a condition that occurs when one eye doesn't develop normal visual acuity, despite normal eye structure. It is the most common cause of decreased vision among children, affecting approximately 2-3% of the population.
Amblyopia generally develops in infancy or early childhood, up to the age of 7 years. During this critical period, the brain is still developing its visual system, and any disruption to normal vision can cause the brain to favor one eye over the other, leading to amblyopia.
