I just got a private ask describing to me an entity they ran into while meditating. As I read the description, I didn’t “recognize” the entity as an entity I’ve “seen” before, but I immediately thought, “Oh, that’s Lugh.” Finished reading the ask, and the asker also thought the entity was Lugh. 

Assuming the entity is Lugh, it’s kinda nice I can recognize Him even when His “description” is different than what I’ve experienced of Him. (Granted, I’m not very visual when it comes to interacting with entities, so I’m not that surprised my vague visual of Lugh is different than someone’s meditation vision of Him.)

Hey friends! Lughnasa is coming up shortly and to celebrate, I am playing to completion Undertale on my twitch channel purplehandcuff.

For those who don’t know, Lughnasa is an Gaelic Polytheist Holiday in which Gaelic Polytheists celebrate and honor the sacrifices of Tailtiu -- Lugh's foster mother, who died clearing out farming land in Ireland. While it's regarded widely as a harvest festival, it is also a time of playing games. And so, gaming I shall do and you're invited to join me! On August 1st, I plan to stream my second playthrough of "Undertale" on my twitch channel. "Undertale" is a game about a journey through a mysterious land and rising up to meet challenges. It's notoriously known as being the RPG you don't have to kill anyone in. My plan is to beat the game in a day on stream. It's not a very long game, but it will take several hours to beat. (And for those familiar with the game, I am taking the Pacifist route.) While this is definitely in honor of Lugh and Tailtiu, I am going to be promoting the wonderful @ineeddiversegames (www.ineeddiversegames.org) and urging people to donate to them. I'll probably try to do some form of giveaway for everyone who donates during my stream -- probably free divination readings from my shop Allecadabra -- but regardless, check them out! At any rate, I hope you find time to stop in during the day on August 1st to join me as I stream in honor of Lughnasa!

In addition to my livestream of Undertale for INeedDiverseGames, I’m gonna probably renew my oath to Lugh. Also a feast after I finish playing Undertale, if I can swing it financially.

Spread from my coven’s Lughnasadh potluck. I think for a lot of the more secular folks, it was an excuse to eat corn products and watch movies. But there was much skill sharing and friendship , which I think makes a fairly good Lughnasadh.

I'm curious about that pic u reblogged with "Lleu"? that looks (especially ur tag) Welsh? I'm confused idk how better to articulate my confusion but is that specific entity crossed over betweet stuff or??????

Yes, Lleu is Welsh. Lugh is not Welsh. I can see where there would be confusion! 

So Lleu (Welsh), Lugh (Gaelic), and Lugus (Gaulish) are all cognates of each other. Which is to say, their names are all the same but just expressed in a different language. It’d be like having two deities from related cultures named Catherine and Kathryn. 

The person who drew that art stated in their caption that the artwork was inspired by both Lugh and Lleu, so I tagged it both Lugh and Lleu.

For the record, in my experience, I don’t see Lugh as being the same as Lleu or Lugus. But some people do, and it’s a valid viewpoint. They’re at the very least related historically, but exactly how that translates to worship is up to each devotee.

I hope that helps clear up some confusion!

this is a strange question but who is likely to be best to pray to for idk "help" overcoming mental health and like personal strength? is that how anything works I'm so new to this and also in a crap place I can't think sorry

fdfjklsdfjklds I apologize for this taking me forever to get back to. It literally is a matter of me forgetting I had messages in my inbox.

Anyways, not a strange question! 

My personal experience has been two things: 1) You can pray / talk to any deity for help with mental health, especially in regards to Gaelic Deities who don’t have specific “domains” of influence and whatnot. 

But 2) If you need a name, I’d suggest Lugh. If I’m recalling correctly, I’ve met five other people who have had Lugh come to them during a “low” mental health time. For me, I was depressed and not sure what the hell I was doing with my life and I just kinda... threw myself at Lugh and said, “Help.” And he agreed to do so. IDK when or why he picked up the mantle of helping us with mental health troubles, but he seems to have done so.

If you want a specific prayer for Lugh, I can even write something up for you? (Or hell, I may do that anyways...) But just talking to Lugh, calling to him, and asking for help can be very powerful by itself.
