Crónica III: El Llamado

Mientras ella despertaba de aquel recuerdo nunca vivido, en otra parte del bosque… Kumo ya no estaba solo.

El sol descendía lento entre las copas, y las mariposas doradas —esas que siempre parecían seguirlo— habían comenzado a agitar sus alas con un ritmo distinto. No volaban ya por juego, sino como si tejieran un camino invisible. Y Kumo, como si pudiera entender sus vibraciones, las siguió.

Porque Kumo no era un simple panda rojo. Y aunque durante mucho tiempo lo había olvidado, su esencia guardaba algo más. Un eco dormido de algo vasto, mágico… y olvidado.

Las raíces del bosque parecían abrirle paso. Y al final del sendero, bajo la sombra viva de un árbol inmenso y milenario, allí donde el musgo se entrelazaba con circuitos antiguos y una laguna reposaba en silencio... estaban ellos.

Tres figuras esperaban en la penumbra, iluminadas solo por hongos que latían como pequeñas estrellas.

— Sari, el leopardo de las nieves, cantor de los vientos del norte. — Nara, la nutria del pozo encantado, guardiana de los lagos secretos. — Kimo, el perrito de melena noble, viajero entre mundos humanos y mágicos.

No eran solo criaturas. Eran espíritus antiguos que representaban aspectos esenciales del mundo: el agua que guarda secretos, el viento que susurra mensajes perdidos, la lealtad que conoce dos mundos.

Lo miraron como quien reconoce a un hermano que regresa de lejos.

Y Kumo los miró… y recordó. No todo. Solo fragmentos. Una promesa sellada bajo la luz de una constelación olvidada. Un viaje que había sido interrumpido por algo… o por alguien. Una canción que no había terminado.

— Ella… —dijo, bajito. Su voz tembló, no por duda, sino por lo que acababa de despertar.

Kimo se acercó. Apoyó su cabeza sobre la de Kumo, y en ese gesto, sin palabras, el vínculo suspendido entre mundos volvió a latir.

Luma, la liebre luminosa, dio un pequeño salto hacia adelante. Sus ojos centelleaban como los reflejos de la luna sobre el agua. Con su patita tocó el centro de una fuente sin agua, solo luz.

Y entonces sucedió: una burbuja etérea surgió, flotando entre ellos. Dentro, fragmentos como recuerdos quebrados se unían: la biblioteca estrellada, la melodía del viento, y una imagen de ella… la oyente, leyendo bajo la cúpula.

Kumo comprendió. El juego entre mariposas se había terminado. Ahora comenzaba el viaje.

Porque ella también tendría que recordar. Porque hay cosas que solo se revelan cuando ambos lados de una canción se escuchan al mismo tiempo.

Sari alzó la vista hacia el cielo. Nara cerró los ojos, como si pudiera oír una sinfonía que aún no empezaba. Kimo movió su cola con la cadencia de alguien que lleva mucho tiempo esperando.

Kumo miró hacia el bosque. No con tristeza, sino con ternura.

Sabía que ella lo buscaría. Sabía que llegaría.

Porque lo que los une no es el camino. Sino el eco de una canción. La misma que, desde siempre, había estado resonando en lo más profundo del corazón del bosque.
