A flash of gold caught the bard's attention that evening, the shade of it different from the setting sun and a bright smile immediately graced his features as he lifted his hand in a wave.

"Lumine! It's been a while; here I worried you had forgotten all about poor old me," Venti teased lightly, swinging himself down from the branch of the tree and landing in front of the traveler light as a feather.

"What brings you to Mondstadt this time?"

Layla was packing away her instruments for the coming winter break at the Akademiya. She had plans to return to her home village and see her parents. She rarely saw them since she had started her schooling so it was about time she visited home. The idea of seeing the Sumpter Beasts again on the farm sounded just as nice, even if she would most likely be spending the holiday trying to get her paper done.

Layla went down her checklist of items, double-checking that everything was packed and ready for her trip. Once she was done, she sighed and went over it again because she was anxious she'd forgotten something. When she was absolutely sure everything was there. She finally allowed herself to relax. She looked at the time-

"Oh! I'm going to miss the caravan!"

She jumped from her comfy chair, grabbed her suitcase and ran from the door, locked it with shaking hands and then took off running towards the meeting place of the caravan she'd be travelling with home.

❝ Heyyyyyyy manager ~ Do you mind if I hide in your videostore for a bit? It'll be for a few hours. But no worrieees! I'll be as silent as a cat. You wouldn't even notice I'm around. ❞ To no one's surprise, Harumasa had appeared in the video store with the intention of killing time. Or maybe he had another intention, but he would not reveal it if that was the case.

The Traveler was back in town! Or that's what Lyney had heard, and he was going to make sure he would make the most of it.

So he sent a playing card floating down from the sky with his little signature cat face on one side and ❝ 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒎𝒆 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒖𝒔𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒉𝒂𝒖𝒏𝒕? ❞ scribbled on the back in a glittery pink gel pen he borrowed from Freminet. Foolproof plan, right?

It was sunset now, and Lyney sat perched on a tree stump in the graveyard, chin in his hands as he waited for Lumine to arrive.

He finished wrapping the bandage around his arm, then turned his attention back to her. Even after she’d drawn her sword, he kept a neutral tone and expression. “No, I imagine I wouldn't be. And, uh, no, I’m not from Inazuma. Not from anywhere, really; I’m a nomad of sorts.”

Lynette glanced over the menu with a quiet focus before looking back up at her companion , her posture relaxed but reserved .

❝ Something simple. . . tea sounds good , ❞ she said softly , her voice calm . She wasn’t one for elaborate choices , preferring simplicity over flair .

She glanced around for a moment , taking in the atmosphere with her usual , quiet demeanor .

❝ I don’t need anything extravagant . Just something to enjoy , nothing more . ❞

Lumine was walking around Fontaine , she's probably taking a walk - Lynette thought . She has a day off, since her performances with Lyney had been quite exhausting lately. . . So she was looking for someone to spend time with . Unfortunately , most of the people she knew had something to do. . . And Traveler didn't look like she was busy at the moment !

Lynette stands in the shadows , like a predator watching its prey. . . She didn't mean to look like that , it was probably just her way of approaching someone . When Lumine was already close to her location , she stepped out of the shadows , trying not to startle her .

❝ Hello , Traveler . I hope I didn't scare you . I saw you walking around , so I assume you have nothing to do ? ❞

Most of the time nowadays, Lumine could never catch a break between all her everyday quests to keep her rank at the adventures guild and having to help everyone constantly. However, today, she was given a day off as others agreed to take on her tasks for the day.

With the day off, she decided to let Paimon go somewhere so she could have some quiet time and just stroll through Fontaine. Her eyes gazed around at the different shops and stalls, trying to decide on what to do or where to go. There were so many choices. She could visit Chiori and maybe get some work done on her dress, or maybe she could get some tea at Cafe Lutece.. She also had the option of training with Clorinde...

Her thoughts would be interrupted when Lynette stepped in front of her and spoke out, which, despite Lynettes best efforts, did startle Lumine, causing her to jump a bit. "O...oh Hey Lynette, no, you're fine. I was just lost in thought. But yes, I have nothing to do, I'm struggling to decide how to spend my day off"

Soft clicks of Lumine’s boots sounded off against the Narukami Shrine's steps. She carefully ascended up the stairs, humming a tune that has gotten stuck in her head while in Fontaine.

"Lady Miko? I've brought you some new teas to try that I acquired during my trip to Fontaine. " In her hand was a bright blue wooden box, with a lighter blue ribbon on top. Inside was an assortment of some of the finest teas in Fontaine. "Figured you'd enjoy these most.. plus, it gives me an excuse to come visit Inazuma again. " She was happy to have returned, even if she had some lingering truama left.

"You have? How thoughtful of you~"

Yae Miko says with a mischievous giggle.

"It is nice to see you again and thank you for the teas."

"How was your time in Fontaine been? Anything interesting to share with me?"

She asks with a smirk on her face, she does wondering what could be happening there.

It had been awhile since he saw the traveller and naturally he was happy to see her again. Venti was certain that she must have quite the adventure since leaving Monstadt and thus plenty of stories to share with him.

" Traveler! How wonderful it is to new you again!" he smiled at his beloved star warrior, " What have you been up to lately? Anything interesting? ehe~"

She often enjoyed her time in Liyue Harbor, the bustling markets, always managing to run into someone she knew to catch up with. However, one thing she didn't enjoy was getting a headache from all the constant noise.

When these kinds of headaches came, it felt like nothing ever really helped. No amount of tea or massaging her temples seemed to work. However, when she spotted Ganyu off in the distance, an idea would sprout in her throbbing mind.

She'd wait until Ganyu was done talking with everyone before approaching her. "Hey... Ganyu! Do you have a moment?" She never really asked for help, as she always managed on her own, but today was different. "I.. need to ask for a favor. It's a little odd, but... can you use a but of your Cryo to help relieve my headache?" A soft blush painted her cheeks after she asked. "It's okay if you aren't comfortable doing so"

Ganyu smiles gently before nodding

“Why of course and no it’s not odd since I do this to myself all the time!” She smiles before using her cryo powers hovering over the travelers head

“You doing okay?” She smiles gently tilting her head “Oh and how did you get this headache?”

"Eh?"

Venti released a small bark of laughter in surprise at her giggles, and his eyes crinkled with amusement.

"Perhaps now I won't take you to see them at all if you're already imagining your own things!"

It was an empty threat of course; he had made a promise to help her relax and if animals were something Lumine wished to see, then animals he would bring for her.

That all sounded like alot of fun, which made it hard to decide on what to pick first. "That all does sound nice.. Hm... how about we go meet some of your animal friends?" She was curious to see what kinds of animals Venti was friends with. However, she couldn't get the image out of her head of Venti being some kind of Yae Publishing House Princess~! She eyed Venti then covered her mouth as she giggled out. "Sorry, Venti- My mind was wandering."

"Are you implying that I do nothing but play the lyre and drink some wine?"

The words were teasing and light as he soon laughed, tipping his head a bit. "I do, by the way. But there are times when I'm needed for more than just a song or a performance."

Like the whole mess they had with Dvalin being poisoned. Without Lumine's help, the mess left behind would have been much more severe than disappearing flyers or soaked stones. They had recovered quickly from that attack, and Venti couldn't help but feel a bit of pride as he had watched and helped the citizens when needed.

"Relaxing is important, however. If you burn yourself out constantly, you might end up being more of a hindrance than a help," he warned the traveler.

Do... nothing... To some like Venti or Lisa it may come naturally, but for someone like Lumine? That was a hard concept and even harder to actually put into practice. As she always wanted to run off and help someone or to carry the weight for others, so the idea of just doing nothing and just doing what Venti did or even what Lisa normally did... Felt almost impossible.

She shut her eyes once more to contemplate his words... "Hm... I know I should do so, It would do me alot of good to do nothing for a while and allow my body and mind rest" It wouldn't be an easy task, it would probably be one of her harder tasks to complete.

"However... I may need some pointers on how to properly do nothing from the expert" She would sit up once more, however she would lean a little against Venti as she once more picked her food up to eat... After all, Paimon would probably be so upset with Lumine if she wasted such an amazing dish! "I do appreciate you talking with me Venti, I think... I really needed to hear this all for once."

"Well, there's a lot we could do!"

Excited and pleased with the aspect that Lumine would be staying for a while, Venti tipped his head back in thought as his mind raced with various activities that could be done for fun-- not because of a duty or a job.

"We could climb Starsnatch cliff to enjoy the sunrise or the sundown; either one is very beautiful up there! Just the vast open skies and the scent of cecilias in the wind~"

A moment of peace in the midst of the chaos.

"We could splash in the sea or fly around Dawn Winery with the crystalflies. I could take you deep within the forests and introduce you to some of the animals I've befriended; I'm sure they would love your company as well."

The bard grinned.

"Just to name a few."

Yet another tear would drip down her cheek, this time not from sadness, she wiped it away. "I realize that now, Venti. Pushing past my limits is what's kept me alive this far... but I'm quickly learning that just pushing past them the way I've done it is dangerous and unsustainable"

She was going to try and do better, she didn't want to break again, nor did she want something bad to happen to herself due to her constantly trying to push forward. Not to mention, she didn't want to miss out on being with her friends... They have kept her going, and she wanted to ensure she had spent plenty of time with each of them.

"Hehe. Well I did plan to stay for a while, so I'd love to do whatever activities you have planned, I think doing something just for fun would do be some good," she was quite interested to see what kinds of things he may have planned.

"And that's why you're breaking apart now," Venti pointed out as gently as he could, gently brushing some of her hair from her face. "There's nothing wrong with pushing your limits a bit, that's how we grow; but you also need to know when to step back and rest."

He hummed a soft, thoughtful sound.

"Otherwise it's like stretching out a string to the point of snapping."

It truly was a wonder that Lumine had lasted this long without breaking into pieces, but he was glad he was there to help when it happened.

"I hope you're planning on staying for a while because I have a bunch of activities I think you could enjoy doing. Activities meant for fun, not for saving the world," he teased lightly.

"Of course not!~ You also take naps" She laughed, enjoying the lighter atmosphere. She did feel lighter after finally having a chance to release her emotions with someone she trusted. "Oh, I know, people get the wrong idea about you… They think you aren't active and here, but you're always here, just not in the same way as the others"

At first when they met she did think Venti was a bit of a lazy Archon, but as time went on, and they saved Dvalin she came to appreciate him more for how he handles Mondstadt. He had one of the purest hearts in her opinion, always giving words of wisdom when needed most... Which only made Lumine appreciate him even more.

"I know, you aren't the first nor the last person to say that. I won't lie to you... not like I can convincingly do so anyway but.. I have felt pangs of burn out every so often. Likewise, I just found ways to push through and ignore them" She didn't want to admit it, but lying to Venti felt like an impossible task.
