Rovaniemi, Finland - A Lapland Mini Musical in the Midnight Sun from Joerg Daiber on Vimeo.
Rovaniemi is the regional capital of Lapland, Finland. It is located near the Arctic Circle. Rovaniemi is also considered by Finns to be the official home town of Santa Claus. There is also some amazing nature surrounding the city. I was lucky enough to spend a couple of very long days with midnight sun there. Enjoy this Musical ride through Finish Lapland with reindeer, huskies and Santa Clause in only 3 minutes. I am pretty sure, that some people will hate the Musical soundtrack for this film, but I think it's hilarious, works great with the images and bring in just about the right amount of Christmas vibe for a film set during midsummer :) Many thanks to Salla Tauriainen from Visit Rovaniemi for supporting this episode.
Apple

To watch wildlife you don't necessarily have to go to the other side of the world from Walter Korinek on Vimeo.
Just enjoy the little “micro-adventures” that arise, for example, during a morning walk in the nearby park!
Let's have a glimpse into the history of that film: In 2013 we went on a trip that will probably play a very important role in our memories forever: we roamed Namibia for three weeks, seeing the magnificent landscapes of the Namib, the Kaokofeld and the Deadflei. We observed the Big Five of the animal world: elephant, rhinoceros, African buffalo, lion and leopard, but also the many antelope species, zebras, cheetahs and many other animal species. The result was a first foray into wildlife filmmaking: youtu.be/1xolmANVudo?si=3plT9Du0lOFR24bv
Now, 11 years later, our "travel bread" has become significantly smaller. But - I'll happily admit it - travel videos, wildlife films and nature photos are among my favorite media. And now the attempt to capture "wildlife" in the film in our home environment. Exotic is always a strange appearance that is related to origin from distant countries. Perhaps the grey heron, the coot, the swan and the teal are as exotic to people from Namibia as the Big Five are to us? Long story short: Antje and I set off early in the morning and explored the Markwasen area in our neighboring town of Reutlingen. The result was this "wildlife film". Enjoy!
Gear / settings I shot the film handheld with the Lumix GH5 + Olympus 3.5-5.6/40-150mm at 50fps in Cine-D. I did the post-processing with Filmconvert Nitrate and added small overlays for lighting effects. The sound was recorded with the Sennheiser MKE 200. The music is from Audiio.
