Never fails to amuse me how, out of 11ish published games, there's actually only 4 Lunar games.

And by amuse I mean.... *stares into the middle distance forlornly*

These photos of the production sketches from the Lunar Legend strategy guide were meant for personal reference, draw amply from other artbooks, and contain glare, distortion from page curvature, and shots of my PSP case. But I have them, and might as well post them, so here you go.

Remade my first ever CAMP in Fallout 76 to better accommodate for the massive influx of new players since the show took off - I'm really happy with it and my character Esther has her dad [the settler forager for RP's sake] on site and cozy in his own trailer~

This is like 10+ hours in the making and I have yet to toss it onto public servers, but if you play on PC [Steam] and happen to see it when I'm online, give me a shout! I'm lunarlion in game c:

Sometimes you don't realize how much you love a character until you've tried drawing them.

For example, Lucia from Lunar 2. I liked her well enough before, but now that I've actually spent some time doing study sketches of her--holy crap I adore her actually??

She's so shapey and fun to draw :3c <3 I seriously love her. >w<

Meribia PD apprehended a pair of suspected arsonists this morning - Local tea farmers whose fields were threatened by the blaze identified the suspects as a couple of "ruthless bastards." (Thanks to @indigozeal for finishing the blurb XD)

Someone recently discovered a prototype version of Lunar Silver Star Story Complete's localization from around six months before the final release, and it seems there's an earlier take of the English version of Wings!

I did some slight subtle anatomy alterations to make the bromides more agender, so you can use them to make bromides of all your Lunar faves who never got a bromide! Or your Lunar OC! Or whatever character you want, I won't gatekeep ya! Just @ me if you do use them! I wanna see! :3

My sister (@camelpimp) and I were talking after I finished playing Lunar for the night, and I was lamenting over what we got for a third mainline Lunar game was Dragon Song. And that I either wanted a prequel about the Four Heroes, or a sequel. We started brainstorming a sequel, and boy does it sound very "Lunar" but 100% better than Dragon Song.

I came up with the idea that it's thousands of years in the future. Lucia has been terraforming the Blue Star ever since Hiro woke her up for good up there. She's slowly been taking more and more people up, and slowly releasing more and more of Althena's power into the Blue Star to make it habitable. Of course, she still keeps in touch with a now slightly more respectable Nall and a still wild Ruby, and now a blue dragon boy who has learned how to take a human form as well as his young black dragon best friend. This blue dragon and his best friend are of course the new protagonists. He of course knows Nall, who runs a legal orphanage now, and Ruby, Nall's on again/off again girlfriend who helps Nall with the orphanage and still likes adventure and treasure hunting. The beginning of the game would be Lunar stuff, doing things to help out and the such. Then Lucia mentions she needs help on the Blue Star and our protag offers to help.

Gameplay wise, you would be at mid-game level of power. You are overpowered for the location, but not end-game level. But once you get to the Blue Star, you're depowered because you're not surrounded by Althena's grace and power (aka the power of humanity). It's been thousands of years but much of the Blue Star is still uninhabitable. So our dragon boy has to start over from scratch.

There are just a lot of little things here and there that we thought of. My personal favourite is the fact that Lucia would name something after Hiro, and I came up with Hiro's Guard. A group that helps terraform the Blue Star and goes after any nasty monsters. Another is that the Blue Star isn't completely covered by Althena's power yet, and the big bad of the game hangs out in there. And I also liked putting Luna and Lucia's decisions next to each other, and how each of them handled being an immortal being with their mortal lover. Luna didn't want to return to being a goddess. She fell in love, and wanted to die in love. Lucia wanted to honour Hiro's memory, and commits herself fully to being a guide and guardian for Lunar and the Blue Star.

Also just imagine what the mythologies of Dyne, Alex, and Hiro are thousands and thousands of years in the future. The stories about Dragonmaster Alex must be fucking wild.

We didn't really come up with like. A full plot or more characters. But for a start, I would have really liked this. I've always wanted a Lunar game with a blue dragon companion, and I think a good twist would be having the main character be this blue dragon.

Searching through TSR, we've come across a lot of interesting games we've never heard of featuring dragons....

Perhaps we should do a post about some of them?

(The answer is 'Yes', always 'Yes'!)

In particular, considering Cyvern: The Dragon Weapons, (1998), andノーラと刻の工房 霧の森の魔女 / Nora and the Time Studio: The Witch of the Misty Forest, (2011), (not necessarily about dragons, but there are quite a few of them in it!)

Maybe we'll also do a shoutout to the Lunar series as well. They're pretty well-known games all things considered, but the baby dragons essentially just being winged cats is cute!

Just saw Wind's Nocturne (Luna's Boat Song) on a "Most* Romantic VG Love Songs for Valentines Day" playlist and uh, I must respectfully disagree. (*edit: misread it, it was MOSTLY, not most. ^^;;; Does that negate the need for this ramble? No. :B)

Not to get too spoilery if you haven't played through Lunar:SSSC, but the context of the song super isn't "Oh, I am feeling some romantic yearning tonight!"

It's an "I want" song with the basic message "Oh damn there's definitely something different/wrong about me, sure could use some divine/cosmic intervention about that."

I can understand the confusion though, the song is preceded by a scene where Luna frets over maybe having feelings for Alex (her BROTHER BY ADOPTION btw) and the phrasing from the song of "foolish dreamers" (implying a false plurality in this lonely experience) and "there's a hole within my soul/what will fill this emptiness inside of me" (which could be misconstrued as meaning "I need a romantic partner to fill that emptiness".)

BUT DO NOT BE FOOLED. Up until this point, Luna has been tormented by nightmares/visons of her birth, having just awoken from one before going above deck to sing about her complicated teenage feelings. Her narrative in the game up to that point has been 70% "wtf is wrong with me", 10% "maybe i have the hots for my brother idk" and 20% nagging every npc and party member she comes in contact with. (Don't get me wrong, I adore Luna but I calls it like I sees it: the kid is a mess.)

Wind Nocturne is about that inner turmoil of not knowing yourself, and praying desperately that one day you'll be granted true self aware clarity. It's romantic in the sense that it's full of romanticism, but it's not romantic in the Valentines Day Fall In Love Swoon Swoon way.

I'd say that's just my onion, but no I'm gonna stand my ground and say I think you'd be super misreading the situation and context of the song if you think it's a love song.

All that said, I wouldn't object to seeing it on an AroAce Palentine's Day playlist. :3c

Tl;dr: The song is about being a fucked up orphan.
